wormpaw gave a short nod as a thank you, clearing his throat. "yessire, " he stated. his eyes watched dirtfur step back and then rush toward, just barely brushing against them. wormpaw whirl around, a bit wobbily but he scooped up dirt and flung it at the warrior's eyes.

The brown warrior didn't look back to see Wormpaw or any earth hurling at the mentor. But he was struck down with debris hitting at his head's left side. Debris barely got into Dirtfur's eyes, his eyes are used to it by then. He thumped his body onto the ground as if an enemy had pinned him down.
Getting back up, he turned around and put his amber gaze on the apprentice. "Well done, now try again." he walked back to the starting point and once again sprint.

wormpaw frown at his missing shot. considering if this was a real battle, he would have had the warrior turn on him instead-- more riled up and wouldn't have a good chance of escape. he figured that he had waited too late to make a move. he straighten his posture, waiting for dirtfur to get back to the starting point once more.
as he rushed forward, wormpaw didn't waste a second to whirl the dirt at the brown warrior's eyes. the apprentice took the chance to move to a different position, at least to confuse his opponent more and get out of the line of attack mainly.

( Hope it is ok)

After taking a well needed nap, sootpaw headed back to the island. He knew he said that he would save his skills for a real battle. But he desperately wanted to join that raid! It'll be the perfect chance to show off his skills. Spotting wormpaw, his eyes widened. Finally! A chance to speak with him. he has been wanting to talk to the dark lord...he just never had the time. And now he does! And they're training? Perfect his conversation with asterkit went well and now this? Everything was coming up sootpaw! He purred to himself and trotted on over with his tail bobbing and head raised with pride hope you don't mind if I join? " he asked, more towards wormpaw than dirtfur...

@Dirtfur @SilentLamb

wormpaw was observing dirtfur until he heard soft pawsteps nearing in. he whirl around, becoming face to face to a familiar face. "sootpaw, " he blink-- the right-hand man's name escaping his mouth in a small voice of surprise. a smile slowly form on his lips, it had been a bit since he had talked to the tom. actually in general-- wormpaw never really got a chance to talk to his small army at all this week. "of course not, we're just preparing for the battle. after all-- we need to make sure shadowclan learns their lesson, " he joked, his pink-tinted eyes flickering to dirtfur-- waiting for a sign of approval. battling with another cat would give them both better training. even if the lanky tom would be staying at camp.

Re: RiverClan Training Island

@x ghostie @SilentLamb

Dirtfur passed through Wormpaw again, sprinting over to a stopping point. He was hit yet again. few more debris got into his eyes than the last time, but isn't enough to hurt the mentor's eyes. "Very good, got some earth in my eyes," he praised at his tall apprentice. "That will be enough for toda-" he interrupted by another apprentice, Sootpaw. He narrowed his eyes in disappointment. he opened his maw to speak out his thoughts and hopefully the said apprentice learns his lesson or two. But invitation spat out of Dirtfur's apprentice, now glaring at Wormpaw. Turning back with his amber beams on Sootpaw, he sighed. "Very well, maybe I can teach you how to throw dirt. After that, you two will learn how you two can work together to fight against a huge warrior in a battle."

Eyes sparkling at dirtfur and wormpaws given permission he wore the largest grin he had since becoming a apprentice . "I can't wait to rip their pelts off! That maggot brain of a deputy has abused his power." he meowed with slight venom as he spoke . Stupid foxhearts they were! Ears flicking at dirtfurs words he raised his brow " throwing dirt?" you could tell he thought it was stupid tactic. But he didn't mind working together with wormpaw after though! Swishing his tail he shrugged as he headed toward wormpaws side. "so wormpaw, I have to ask you something after this...I think you'll be interested " he said in a somewhat hushed tone. Looking at the warrior " alright mud boy, show me how...throwing dirt is at all affective .." he meowed . oof...the nickname could use some work....

"Lets review the moves you used in your moves- the slide, run tackle, and the hit. Once you get those, then we can start on the more advanced things." He mewed.
"Stand right at the corner of the clearing, and do the same move you used again. Go on!"

wormpaw nodded in agreement, his tail flickering with annoyance. he didn't really understand shadowclan's actions. the leader was power hungry. you can only take and take so much. by the rate the rest of the clans will end up turning on them and chasing shadowclan out. he resisted a sigh, glancing at his friend with a pity look. the lanky tom forgot that he should have probably warned his friend that uh.. his mentor liked dirt a lot. wormpaw's ears perk up at the last sentence, blinking. that was something he was up for! "alright, this should be done soon anyway, " he mumbled into sootpaw's ear. before his mentor could speak up and question his commander and the dark lord's actions-- wormpaw took a step forward, scooping up dirt and throwing it at dirtfur's eyes. "think fast, "

Hickoryblaze nodded in approval.
"Very good! You adjusted your feet well so the tackle was harder, and your running was excellent, but you need more strength when you slide under and hit me." He mewed, "Just do the slide on me this time."

Dirtfur raised his kinked tail, padded to a new area to have more room. Turning back to see if the apprentices. they seemed to be talking. Then Wormpaw scooped earth and threw it at his mentor. Good thing for quick reflexes; the brown tabby ducked, dirt went over the tom. He sat down and narrowed his amber eyes at the tall apprentice. "You have some nerves doing that." he bare his teeth. "If you two are done talking, we will start how to take down a big opponent with two cats."

Smiling at the fact that wormpaw sounded interested, the tom then followed the dark lords actions . That's when he found his eyes looking at a bit of dirt that flew over the toms head causing the apprentice to laugh a bit. Twitching his whiskers in amusement at the act the gave a smirk at Dirtfur "oh lighten up you old badger . " seriously . The warrior to him tended to be a stick in the mud. The dirt-warrior growled to the apprentices' nonsense. If they act like this again, he might discuss with Lionstar to give them a moon of helping the elders! "Right," Dirtfur sighed. "I am a big warrior that you two need to take down. You apprentices will work together to take me down."
He bared his teeth and pounce on Wormpaw.

Grinning non-stop at wormpaw he failed notice dirtfurs words . But he did manage to catch the last few ' work together to take me down ' . Ears twitching at that he looked over at Dirtfur "huh?" only to then be wide eyed and gasp "wormpaw!" that action caught him off guard completely . Barring his teeth he dashed at the warrior only to try and shove him off " ok. Then we pretend that your a shadowclan cat . It'll give us motivation ....well atleast one of us " he meowed .

wormpaw's thoughts were wavered, feeling his body suddenly be slammed into the ground. his eyes widen in surprise, he let out a grunt of discomfort feeling his mentor on top of him. he kick at dirtfur's stomach with his hindlegs, his eyes gazing around for sootpaw. "go for the scruff!" he meow, squirming to try to weaken the grasp.

"maybe next time dogear and I can train with you guys again?" he suggested with some hope in his voice . Then he looked over at wormpaw then back at Dirtfur "If we are finished ....May I speak to wormpaw alone?" he asked . He really didn't want to get to the dirt part....

"Oh, fox-dung!" she cursed out loud as Riverpaw landed on top of her. "Ah, sorry, I didn't mean to curse..."

Eagleflight watched expectantly as his apprentice made her leap, observing her stance and stature. It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. He could work with that. "Good job, Riverpaw," he praised, although he knew she mostly had landed it because Pigeonpaw had tripped. He almost asked if she was alright, but her outburst told him all he needed to know.
"You'll have to be extra careful with her training, with those paws of hers," the deputy mentioned to Birchsnow, in reference to Pigeonpaw's polydactyl deformity.

Riverpaw stepped back after landing. She hadn't expected the other molly to trip. "A-are you okay?" The silver tabby asked after her outburst. River didn't think she hurt her but the outburst made her doubt it. When she apologized for cursing not long after Eagleflight complemented her River's ears swerved back. Ah, there were a lot of cats. Well three others counting her mentor but Birchsnow honestly made her nervous. Why didn't she change her tone? "Uh- we should practice balance right?" Riverpaw asked her voice getting quieter as she turned to face the warriors.

Birchsnow's ears twitched as Pigeonpaw tripped. How inconvenient. It would be swifter if her apprentice knew how to work with her own paws. At the russet tom's comment her icy gaze flicked to him. Logically yes. "Correct." The tri colored warrior nodded before turning back to the apprentices. Riverpaw had stated the obvious, with adjustments to be added in Birch's mind. "Pigeonpaw, you need to work on your coronation. Sharpen your reaction time by observing your offender closely. Doing so will allow you more time to properly move out of the way." Birchsnow informed figuring this out in her head. The problem was she needed to form a salutation for the fault in her paws.

Pigeonpaw huffed with embarrassment as she readied herself to be attacked once more. Hopefully she could properly dodge this time. She did as her mentor told her and studied Riverpaw's every movement--each tense of her muscle, each flick of her tail. If she could read the other she-cat, she could predict her attack.

Riverpaw nodded. "O-okay.." With that she started moving around Pigeonpaw, slowly. She didn't want to just jump on the other apprentice again. Doing the same thing twice didn't seem right. So Riverpaw twitched her ears blue eyes scanning over the other tabby. An idea hit her and she suddenly jabbed at Pigeonpaw's side. Her movements swift in hopes to get her.

Birchsnow observed with skeptical eyes. She needed to know if her apprentice could dodge a simple attack with her tactics. Riverpaw had seemed to go for a simple move. One a kit could have done. The tri colored warrior was no here to evaluate Riverpaw. She just needed to train her apprentice to become a warrior.

Pigeonpaw was far more careful this time. She saw Riverpaw's movements and was able to dodge out of the way in time, and then she herself lurched forward with a paw outstretched in an attempt to shove the older apprentice over.

Eagleflight didn't interject--he hadn't been expecting Pigeonpaw to retaliate, but he was curious to see what would happen and how Riverpaw would react.

Riverpaw widened her eyes in surprise as Pigeonpaw moved and then lunged at her. She though this was just practice for dodging and stuff. Thinking fast she moved back, nearly dodging the other molly's paws. Though sense she wasn't expecting it she almost instantly tripped over her tail. That had gotten tangled up in her paws. "Oft.." She let out falling to the ground.

Interesting. The tactics Birchsnow had offered worked. No surprise there. The sad thing was that nether of these tabbies could keep their faces out of the dirt. The tri colored warrior shook her head. Pigeonpaw was doing good at least.

"Get up, keep going!" Eagleflight encouraged his apprentice with a flick of his tail. "You can do this, Riverpaw. Focus on your instincts--You're smaller, quicker. Use that to your advantage."

Pigeonpaw took the deputy's words and her mentor's silence as encouragement to continue. She backed off a little to let Riverpaw regain her balance, feeling a new light of motivation.

Riverpaw was taken aback by the encouragement she was receiving. Quicker and smaller... She repeated in her head. Getting to her paws she felt calmer. Like she had this. Focus and don't lose heart. Riverpaw told herself smiling a bit at Pigeonpaw's challenge.
With a new found confidence Riverpaw dashed at the other apprentice aiming to ram into her side.

Cheering during training? Birchsnow was puzzled by this. It was not a costume she was aware of. With a glance at Eagleflight the warrior tried to understand this. To no prevail. She still was unsure of his reasoning. So, she glanced back at her apprentice. She was doing well

Cheering during training? Birchsnow was puzzled by this. It was not a costume she was aware of. With a glance at Eagleflight the warrior tried to understand this. To no prevail. She still was unsure of his reasoning. So, she glanced back at her apprentice. She was doing well

Pigeonpaw waited to hear some sort of instruction from her own mentor. She heard Eagleflight cheering on his apprentice, and felt a spark of envy. Why does Birchsnow have to be so cold? she thought, bracing for impact as Riverpaw rammed into her. Her thick pelt guarded her from the brunt force of the attack, and she hesitated for a moment before deciding to try jumping up to land on the silver tabby's shoulders.

Okay. Maybe headbutting a cat wasn't a good idea. Riverpaw was reevaluating her choice as her head hurt slightly. Pigeonpaw landed right on her shoulders getting a huff from the sudden weight that brought her down. She really wasn't that strong, strength was never her strong suit. Hitting the ground again Riverpaw spat out the sand that got on her muzzle. Ew... The silver tabby wiggled a bit before just going limp. Maybe Pigeonpaw would ease off her? She wasn't sure but wiggling under a larger cat was not helping.

When Riverpaw went limp, Pigeonpaw had assumed she had given up. Or worse, that she might have hurt her. She leapt off to allow the she-cat some space, sniffing carefully at her to see if she was okay. She didn't know that this was all part of her strategy.

It actually worked! Oh stars it worked! Riverpaw was actually a bit surprised by this. Not wanting to lose her chance she jumped up and swatted a paw at Pigeonpaw. Will, she didn't expect that Pigeonpaw would have stayed so close so her aim was off. Plus it was more for the larger cats muzzle then leg! That wasn't what she wanted... No... wait. It was to late though so she just closed her eyes. Bad move again...

Pigeonpaw tripped as Riverpaw's blow swiped at her leg and knocked it out from under her. "You got me! That was a good move," the apprentice commented. She paused, then looking to her mentor with concern on her face.

"Can I have some guidance or something, please? I don't know what to do next." She didn't feel like her mentor particularly cared for actually teaching her. She had been silent nearly this whole time, no praise or anything.

"Good work, Riverpaw!" Eagleflight nodded to his apprentice, and then cast a slight glare to Birchsnow expectantly, waiting for her to say something to her own apprentice.

Lightstreak bounded into the island, and was immediately stopped by a wall of nostalgia. She heard Owlpaw, not to far behind her, and quickly turned around and sat down. When she knew Owlpaw could both see and hear her, she said "Before we begin, first answer these questions: 'what do you smell, and how old is it?' then, from that, tell me whether we're safe or not."

Her eyes widened when she heard the task her mentor has given to her. She had never done that before, she wouldn’t know if they were safe or not! Owlpaw panicked for a brief moment before forcing herself to calm down. “I- I uh, I’ve never-” She shook her head, deciding to at least try. She lifted her muzzle, struggling to pick up a scent. “Uh... Oh! Uhm, I-I smell a uhm...” Owlpaw glanced over at her mentor, slowly growing nervous. There were too many scents, she couldn’t chose one to focus on. “Uhm... I uh, I don’t know.” She turned to Lightstreak with a sigh. “I’ve never had any training until now. B-but I’ll try my h-hardest, I’ll make you pr-proud of me, I promise!”

Lightstreak stood up and sniffed. It was safe. "You smelled something, that's a start. Is it this?". She then padded over to a bush and pulled away some branches, revealing some dung. "Now. Ask yourself the questions and respond out loud." She looked expectantly at Owlpaw.
