Staggering at its icy touch, I pull up my hood, dumping a load of snow that had already settler there over my head. The blizard is now so thick that I can barely see the boy in front of me. "Fall back!" I shout to the others. "Find shelter!"
A silhouette, to big and bulky to be human, looms out of nowhere. Fast am I to draw my sword, but faster still is the monster. Ice fist, hard as stone, smashes into my shoulder, throwing me to the ground. I roll the second blow, the deal out a strike of my own. My blade barely scratches the beast. It is made for cuting flesh, not ice. I, and probably most of the others, are going to need new weapons.
