"Yeah, but next time use that moment of distraction to get the upper hand." Brightwhisker turned towards Harepaw.
"A little bat to the head with your claws sheathed aren't going to hurt anyone." he reassured. |

The apprentice dived under them and Brightwhisker let his weight drop to land on top of him, planning to pin them. |

With Harepaw trapped under him, the lynx point tom wrapped his front legs around the apprentice and shifted so that he could flip onto his back so Harepaws stomach would be exposed. |

Wormbite lifted his paw up to give it a small lick, eyes glazing over and watching Lightpaw curiosity prod at the water. He rose back to his paws, paddling on over to the apprentice's side. He squinted his eyes at the dark waters, "The ripples and the shadows. When one is approaching the surface or is in good distance to be caught, the water will start to change it's ripples. The darker spots in the water are the fishes, or the shadows of them in an sense, " He explained-- lifting his head back up. "Be careful to not let your shadow show in the water however. That will alert them, " Pause. "Why don't you try?" |

"Lets see..." Brightwhisker grunted as he tried to control his wriggling apprentice.
"Like this, with one hard cut, I can get your throat." A lilac grey paw swiped at Harepaws throat. "Or, i could get you good--oof!" Harepaw's calico head got him in the jaw as he squirmed and caused him to lean his head back farther.
"I'm sure you get the point." he chuckled as he let go of his apprentice so he could sit up right. "But you reacted well, you squirmed and nailed me in the jaw. Another way you can get out of that is to try and turn the possision against your opponent, Flipping yourself so that your above them. It leaves you both exposed, but the quicker cat will be able to land a heavy blow."
The warrior smiled at Harepaw.
"You did real good during the fight. I was a bit worried you might react like you told me you did with your previous mentor--you screamed didn't you?" he recalled what the younger tom said during swimming practice. |
