Her thoughtful gaze rested on his for another second. She watched his mouth move, forming words she couldn't hear. He looked disoriented, as though he didn't know she was their. Though she wasn't able to hear in life, she was able to in sleep. She dreamed of hearing things, so she learned to speak in the waking world.
"What were you thinking, if I may ask?" Her polite tone betrayed no curiosity, just pure calmness. Smoothness dripped from the she-cat's words; not persuasive and charming, just tentive. Was it rude of her to ask the leader of the clan if Shen could know what he was thinking? Ugh, I hope not.
