Ugh... my head... I open my eyes. I sit up, making sure that my mask was still on my face and on my face perfectly. "What the..." I say out loud, standing up. I was still wearing my backpack, I realized. "Where am I?" I start turning in circles, trying to pinpoint where I was. A field by the looks of it. But where? Am I asleep? How did I get here?

The sun is already nearing its plummet when I awake. I eat a quick meal then hasten to my usual spot. I arrive just in time to see the last rays of sun shrink away. Thick mist quickly covers the land, making it impossible to see more than an arms length in any direction. Creaking. Rasping. The sound of ripping earth. I close my eyes until I no longer feel the mist's presence. In a matter if minutes, the large field where we fought the zombies has been replaced with a dense pine forest. Gorse covers the ground, making getting back hard, and running impossible.

I strike my flint and light my torch. A beacon to all those who see it.
