The dusty warrior smiled. Happiness swelled the mentor's chest. He thought his apprentice would've said no, but Wormpaw didn't! The tomcat beamed happily at his young apprentice. "Okay, first you have to shove your paw -unsheathed- into the earth," he explained rapidly, very eager to teach the tall apprentice his dirt-tactics. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island

wormpaw unsheathe his left paw, shoving it through the snow until he could feel the usual dirty texture. he dig into it, glancing at his mentor for more instructions. eh. his mentor seemed happy, wormpaw didn't see why it was a big deal but shrug! |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
marching to the island with her tail up. BrambleBlaze looked down at petuniapaw [ @Fuzzy ] . She was still excited about this! If only lambdream could see her now! "with what you've learned already, we'll be doing a small mock battle. Unless you feel uncomfortable and feel like you need more training " she meowed . " perhaps we could even do something with you going against shadowpaw when you feel comfortable enough. It'll be a great opportunity to show how to go up against another clans apprentice " she smiled . |

The filthy mentor watched proudly as his apprentice dug his paw into the earth. "Now grabbed the debris firmly with your claws and pull them out-- make sure to keep it firm and balance it so none of it falls out of your paw," Dirtfur instructed, studying Wormpaw's movements. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island

wormpaw cuff his claws, gripping firmly onto the mud. he grimaced at the texture- it felt better when it was under the grass, honestly. the apprentice much preferred water than dirt. he scooped it up, lifting his paw up to be seen by dirtfur's eyes. then, instead of wormpaw waiting for the next instruction-- he flung the debris at his mentor's legs. ''tada, see? perfection, " wormpaw deadpan. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island

Watching as Wormpaw pulled out the earth-piece, Dirtfur opened his mouth to meow any further instructions, instead he closed them as the tall apprentice flung the debris at the already filthy tomcat's front limbs. The expressionless voice of his apprentice made Dirtfur concerned if he done something wrong in this training, but he ignored the tone. "Great job," he praised. "Now try aiming at that tree, but higher." he pointed at a tree a fox length away with his tail. "Use much force as you can," remark the mentor. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
Quote:
wormpaw blink, surprised at the praise. he chuckled lightly under his breath, nodding at the other instruction. he shoved his paw back into the same spot, where the dirt was already broken and soft. he scooped it up-- firm and balanced. ish. some debris still managed to leak out of the apprentice's small paw. wormpaw turned around, gazing at where he wished to aim. he flung it at the target, it splattering onto the white snow. with his long limbs didn't have much of a problem with throwing. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
Quote:
The tail of the dusty warrior wrapped around Dirtfur's paws, studying Wormpaw's next throw. Soil leaked out of the black-furred apprentice's paw, but that's okay. Dirtfur doesn't expect any perfection, he knows how hard it is to balance earth-pieces on a paw. He purred in satisfaction for that Wormpaw's aim was better. Looking at the sun going down, he beckoned the apprentice over. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island

wormpaw turn his head, glancing at dirtfur's expression for approval. he didn't really care about throwing the mud however he was growing a bit too used to the mentor's praise. it made him fuzzy and weird. wormpaw turned around, following dirtfur's command-- he walked over, titling his head. ''heading back?" wormpaw questioned before adding, "thank you for the session, " |
Re: RiverClan Training Island

Dirtfur smiled and nodded to Wormpaw's question. "Next time, we're hunting." he added after the apprentice's thanks. Kinking his tail, he walked away to the camp. "Don't wait up, come on!" |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
Quote:
''good, i've been practicing my pounce. i'm less clumsy now i believe, " wormpaw explained, looking ahead as he picked up his pace to stride by dirtfur. maybe he could spot some birds on their way back to camp. a bit off-topic but birds. nice-- very nice. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@Cloudsky Sitting at the island . Sootpaw waited for his mentor fallenstorm with a excited look on his face. His pelt was groomed and he had a somewhat full stomach . He was eager to get this mock battle started . |

"Well, it seems I'm the late one today!" She meowed, chuckling. "We better get started, then!" She got closer to Sootpaw, and gave him the following instructions. "Alright, so we're going to learn offensive moves, first. Since this is a mock battle, keep your claws sheathed. First, we are going to learn how to strike our enemies! Now, when I say strike, I mean strike, and make sure to aim at the face, as that does the most damage." |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@Cloudsky Getting into his battle stance after fallenstorm spoke. With a look of determination he gave a quick nod "ready" he meowed . |

@Cloudsky Flinching at the muzzle attack . The toms eyes went every which way trying to get a clear focus on fallen. Darting to the left as soon as he found a opening, he ran off to give him some space before whirling back around. Grinning at her just before he raced forward and leaped into the air in hopes of tackling fallenstorm. |

[I'm back and ready to get this rolling again!] Petuniapaw had basically bounced the entire way to the training Island. It was unfamiliar land but she was so excited. This sounded excited. Though, her new mentor just said what she'd already learned didn't she? "Ms. Brambleblaze. I haven't learned anything yet. This is my second ever time outside of camp. Last time I only went to the ThunderClan border and back." The ginger and white molly explained looking up with her bright amber eyes. "But I'll work hard to learn! And then I can meet and train with uh... Shadowpaw!" Petuniapaw added determination in her pitchy voice. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@Fuzzy Frowning, BrambleBlaze took a seat. not learned anything yet???... "that's horrible..who was your first mentor? I'll be sure to chew them out." she meowed with a irritated tail twitch .that cat didn't even deserve an apprentice ! For crying out loud... "alright then....what would you like to learn??" she asked. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@Cloudsky Grumbling, he landed with slight grace . With a determined glance he smirked as he thought up of an attack. ok fallenstorm. Walking towards her he made it look as if he wasn't paying her any mind. Perhaps he stole a few glances at the sky. Then as he passed her he whirled around and aimed a soft attack towards her face. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@SilentLamb "Mister Ashfrost. He was really nice, but he just disappeared. I think he got busy." Petuniapaw explained, to excited to sit down. "Oh, I don't think he'd be good to chew on..." She added confused. What did 'chew him out' even mean? Was it good or bad? Judging by Ms. Brambleblaze's reaction, bad. "I wanna learn everything!! How to hunt, swim, fish, fight everything!" Petuniapaw exclaimed not fully understanding the question. |

Re: RiverClan Training Island
@Fuzzy "chew out means , to tell him what for. Kinda like how your parents did when your in big trouble " she explained with a smile . Flicking an ear the she cat blinked " he really didn't deserve you then! Not that I'm any better ... Um. Alright ! Battle practice and all is always important .." with that the tabby stood back up. " offense or defensive moves first ?? feel free to Pick one." . ....... @Cloudsky Cringing visibly at how fallenstorm reacted . The tom gave a frown which was then replaced by a small smile. "I thought this was a mock battle?" he chuckled . "also I don't think you'll do very well if this was a real battle...if you were trying to fool your opponent like that.." he added. " But no mercy! " he grinned before lunging at her in a playful sense anyways . |

Re: RiverClan Training Island
@SilentLamb Like getting in trouble with her parents? She could only think of one time... that was a very, very bad time. Her mom died then! Was that what happened when you got in big trouble all the time?! Did everyone get yelled at before their mother got hit by a monster? Her whiskers twitched nervously at the thought. Thankfully for Petuniapaw Ms. Brambleblaze changed the subject. "Lets see... uh I don't really know what either means but offense sounds like a cool one. So that's learn offense!" The little molly chirped moving away from her hunting thoughts. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@Cloudsky Ears flicking . Sootpaw decided to slide underneath fallenstorm to see what that would do . Only to stand back up and aim a back kick in hopes of winning . ...... @Fuzzy offensive . Ok then . BrambleBlaze gave a nod only to clear her throat "offensive attacks are usually just straight up attacks. Defensive is either dodging or defending .." she explained . " so act like im a shadowclan cat who's wanting to invade our home. In your mind think up of a way to stop me..no claws." with that she crouched and gave a less threatening hiss. |

Petuniapaw nodded eagerly. "Okay!" She exclaimed after the expiation. She really didn't know anything huh? That was why she was here to learn though! She had to learn everything she could from Ms. Brambleblaze. Petunia studied her mentor as she explained what she was to do. Stop her? So basically attack her? Like Jasper always tackled her? Hmm. "Yes ma'am!" Petuniapaw excitedly let out moving to get a better angel at this 'ShadowClan warrior'. With a few moments she got on her back legs and jabbed a paw at her mentor. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@Fuzzy Giving a nod. BrambleBlaze darted towards petunia only easily dodge the jab by ducking. Ears perking up as she glanced at her stance . The tabby aimed to plow into petuniapaw. But not hard enough to give any damage. ........ @Cloudsky Snarling, only to shake his head from dizziness. Sootpaw grunted and aimed a few attack to the face once more, hoping to land a hit. |

Re: RiverClan Training Island
The ginger tomcat followed his mentor to the training clearing, remaining quiet as he padded along behind the tomcat. His mind drifted as he walked along, his ears flicking upward slightly. Memories of times in the nursery with his littermates, to playing the territory with Redpaw, to training with Auroraflame, it all was rushing through his mind as they continued their silent walk. But Blazepaw felt like he didn't live that life anymore. He was downtrodden, and there was nothing he believed he could do about it. Once they reached the training island, Blazepaw lifted his head and looked towards Mapleflame, wondering what the tomcat was going to have him do first. @hxneysuckle |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
[ @RedHead ] Mapleflame limped onto the island with a bored expression over his face, ears flattened. He spun around and looked at Disgracepaw, his nose wrinkled in dismay. "How are you even still an apprentice? You're the oldest apprentice I've spoken to," he stated, snorting. "What do you know? I can't get your ass to rank up if I don't know what's in that puny brain of yours." He sat down, his useless leg stretched out as his tail curled over it. Yellow eyes were focused on his apprentice as he awaited an explanation for what he knew, lips curled in a scowl while staring down over him. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
"I... I had some trouble... I was irresponsible." Blazepaw responded, his tail giving a nervous twitch. "I know basic hunting skills, I can hunt well on land, but I need more work for fishing. I know some fighting, I can defend myself well but my attack needs work." Blazepaw had spent some time on his own going over what he knew so he could know what needed to be taught to him from his mentor. "So um... if we wanna work on attack while we're here in the training clearing... @hxneysuckle |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@FuzzyRatto Owlpaw blinked a few times, slowly coming back to reality. “I- uh- s-sorry, I spaced out.” The apprentice glanced around the area, trying to remember where she was. Oh, right. She was supposed to be training with Lightstreak. Owlpaw whipped her head around to face her mentor. “C-could you repeat what you just said, please? I’m sorry.” |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
[ @RedHead ] He only scoffed. "Trouble? Listen here, kit. You give me one heartbeat of trouble and your ass is grass." He flicked his tail and stood once more. "Think fast," Mapleflame said before launching himself at Disgracepaw, paws outstretched though his claws were sheathed. Battle didn't wait for anyone to be ready. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@BILL. Coming from the WindClan border, Pebblepaw had more or less skipped - or as close as he could get to that action - into the training clearing. It had been a while since he'd done any offensive or defensive training... and honestly, he had slept since he'd learned it... ahem.. forgot it. He was ready this time though! Ready to show his stuff, prove that he would be a great warrior - Pebblepaw would be ready for the next battle! Weaving his way to a more secluded spot, the apprentice turned to make sure that Firehawk had been in tow. "What are we learning today?" Energetic as always, even with the additional pudge he had been saving for leaf-bare. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
{ @Bluepetal }
Blueheart turned to face Harepaw "ready?" she growled "let's see what ya got" she unsheathed her claws and sprinted toward Harepaw. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
(Sorry it took so long to make a starter! Been busy) @CheetahPelt BumbleFrost was waiting patiently at the training area in a half shaded spot, her iced blue eyes gazed at her Clanmates as they trained, the shecat looked at her paws for a moment as she started mumbling to herself."...Maybe that might be good to start off with?... No too complex to start learning for the first training session...". Her brow furrowed as she shook her head lightly, BumbleFrost was trying to decide what would be more effective to start off with, she wanted to do the very best she could to make sure her new apprentice, AsterPaw, was taught to the best of her abilities. Her features lighten a bit as if she had finally came to a decision and she took a small breath as she straightened her posture, the cream and spotted grey shecat was quite tall and slim in all honesty but not enough to be extremely noticeable.BumbleFrost looked up towards the sky seeing that it had been a while now since she had told AsterPaw to meet her at the training island once he had done his apprentice duties, she wasn't too fussed as of right now since the molly understood it was going to take some time for the young tom to get used to being somewhat busy for the clan but doing nothing was starting to get to the shecat and her tail started twitching, she had workaholic tendencies and doing nothing but sit there wasting time really made the shecat feel on edge, she originally started pushing herself to be busy when she was in her very young warrior moons to distract herself from the unpleasant things that had happened during that time and now she did it out of habit…she had no idea when this habit became a serious issue but she was starting to see why HoneyDrizzle had been urging her to take more breaks and just relax."hnnnnnmmm...okay Bumble just relax and breathe...".she murmured this to herself as she inhaled and exhaled deeply as she continued to patiently wait for AsterPaw. |

The ginger tomcat nodded vigorously in response to Mapleflame, trying to confirm that he would be no trouble at all. Which was no fun at all but Blazepaw had given up on fun and trouble-making. That hadn't gotten him anywhere. And it had gotten someone exiled. Though, the tom was not ready for his new mentor to launch himself at him. Blazepaw's olive eyes grew wide as he quickly ducked, rolling to the side and dodging the larger tomcat's pounce. Thankfully, Blazepaw had been looking at Mapleflame when he attacked, so getting out of the way had been a fast instinctual move. The ginger apprentice stared at Mapleflame with wide eyes, having not been expecting that at all. A small flare of anger grew in his chest, but he ignored it, pushing it away. This was battle training after all. Mapleflame just did it differently than other mentors it seemed. |
