// Willowpaw nearly ran back to camp when the scent of Thunderclan hit her nose as well as sickly cats.
What in starclans name?!
Too curious, she ventured a little further, eventually too tired to continue, and rested for a few seconds, before the scent got too bad for her and she ran fast as her paws could take her back to her camp //

Nightgaze
Thunderclan Hornet

"Hmm...what's this...Riverclan..." a loud growl rumbled in Nightgaze's throat as she sniffed around cattail pond. She'd been making sure everything was right in this part of the territory but unfortunately she had come upon the scent of the clan who they had stolen this landmark from...not really surprising to be honest.

Shs had to tell Bumblestar her discovery! Lifting her head away from the place she had detected Riverclan scent most strongly she gave one last glare before bounding off as fast as she could, her broken leg slowing her down but she was determined to get back to camp to alert the clan.

(You don't have to reply to this ^^)

A curious ThunderClan apprentice, Ivypaw, slipped into the territory. Her mentor hadn't brought her here yet, but Ivypaw knew that ThunderClan had taken Cattail Pond from RiverClan. The mottled dark gray, silver and white pseudo-tabby she narrowed her dark blue eyes. She shuddered. All these border skirmishes were starting to irritate the young apprentice. Ivypaw's tail tip twitched as she settled down onto her belly, catching the scent of a water vole.

The Tom was sitting down even though he was still a bit sick and he knew he should have gone to Drizzlecloud and Springpaw he decided against it because he didn’t want to be a bother after all sneaking out of camp was a good idea to him and he started to look for some food since he was old enough to hunt by himself

A tired looking Roseraven shuffled around, trying not to fall into a nap. It was tempting, but she was out here sniffing around for herbs and maybe prey. Just because she was no medicine cat didn't mean she couldn't help them stock up.

Never a dull border patrol these days, so much tension. The last skirmish had Cougarshade on her toes, barely avoiding a claw to the bridge of her nose. Having finished her morning border patrol, it was just too nice a day to hang around camp. The fresh kill pile was a little lacking in her eyes, so she pushed herself up into a long luxurious stretch before setting out of camp. A perfect day for hunting.

Cougarshade paced cautiously along the well trodden path to Cattail Pond, despite having won this section of territory from Riverclan, she wasn't going to trust those slippery eels not to try testing their luck over the border. Her dark ears flickered as she passed almost silently through the undergrowth. A plump mouse that had been clumsily digging around for food not even hearing her before being taken by a swift blow. If there was one thing her mentor always praised her on, it was her ability to move swiftly and quietly. She tucked it at the base of a tree along her path back to camp before continuing toward Cattail Pond. Nearing the edge of the reeds, a rustling sound ahead alerts her, and the smell of vole hung in the air. She picked her way between the towering cattail reeds with care, her warrior skills of not alerting her prey on display.

Her mouth watered, but the sound that first piqued her interest grew slightly louder the smell of another thunderclan cat filled her senses. Creeping forward she looked out from the shade of the reeds. That was not the rustling of a vole, but the twitching of an irritated apprentice's tail. Vole skittering with the sound of their movement, Cougarshade slipped into view from beyond the reeds. Clearing her throat, she cut her glare to the apprentice who was belly to the ground in what must be an attempt at a hunting crouch. "What are you doing out of camp without your mentor or another warrior?", her words are sharp, but it comes from a place of deep concern and protection of her clanmates. "You know how high tensions are between the clans right now! You are lucky I found you and not some treacherous Riverclan pond scum!", she spat, her fur starting to bristle now just thinking about it. She took in a deep breath and let out an exasperated sigh. Of course she ends up having to play kitsitter, but hidden behind the irritation and impatience is a warm heart.

She sat beside the mottled silver apprentice, flicking her tail over over the little she-cat's ear lightheartedly. "Is there a reason you came out here by yourself? You know exploring the territory can be dangerous even on a good day, even for a trained warrior." concern shown in her pale green eyes. She may not have patience for breaking rules or unruly apprentices, but the little silvery she-cat seemed on edge. She wasn't the best with matters of the heart, but she would try her best to help.

Ivypaw flinched back at Cougarshade´s tone. The scent of the water vole left as soon as she scented it. ´´Hey! No fair! You just scared off my prey!´´ Ivypaw´s tail drooped, her blue eyes dropping down to her paws as Ivypaw shifted them. ´´I wanted to prove to Sunsetslash that I was able to hunt for my Clanmates, but every time I try, something or someone scares it off, or I´m somewhat off! It´s not fair!´´

She knew she had been a bit too harsh, but she couldn't help it. Upholding the warrior code and following clan rules was of utmost importance. She took pride in her loyalty and dedication to her clan, and she held her clanmates to that standard as well. The crestfallen look on Ivypaw's face filled Cougarshade's heart with bittersweet understanding. It wasn't too long ago that she herself was pushing for the approval of her mentor.

She remembered those feelings all too well, but they also shaped her into the strong warrior she is today. She flicked her inky tipped tail under Ivypaw's dipped chin, a gentle reminder to always hold her head high. At the same time she too straightened herself and raised her chin, shifting her proud gaze down to the little silvery apprentice beside her, "You know, I too felt the need to prove I was worthy to my clan, to prove I had value. But, it all comes in time. You just need to stay focused, and don't stress too much. That stress will come through in your training.", she said thoughtfully before shifting herself smoothly and quietly into a hunting crouch. "See? Take that deep breath, shake out those jitters, let yourself fall into position naturally. Stay light, feel your weight shift on your haunches. Once you feel it, you got it!", attempting to teach what came to her so naturally is a challenge. She didn't know why she did it either, but if this little apprentice is struggling, maybe a little tip or two might help.

She demonstrated again slowly, then sat back. Even if Ivypaw wasn't her apprentice, she remembered learning a thing or two when she was an apprentice by watching the skilled senior warriors train. She didn't expect the mottled apprentice to follow her movements, but she at least hoped it was of help. Her meow is gentle, green eyes filled with warmth. "Trust in yourself, you are more capable than you think....but maybe we should rethink solo hunts until you have your warrior name, hm?" she winked, her tail flicking in an amused manner. Ok, maybe having an apprentice wouldn't be too bad...eventually. Until then, giving tips to unattended apprentices in the forest will do.

The rosetted she-cat smiled warmly as she was met with a defeated mew of agreement. She knew she was probably a pain, but she was proud to be a Thunderclan warrior, and to be a warrior was a privilege. She was a stickler for the rules, but she had a good mentor that instilled that in her. A great warrior follows the code! A light breeze picks up, making the reeds around them come alive with sound. Ivypaw's final question sparks an amused mrow out of Cougarshade, a slight chuckle to her voice as she gets to her paws. "Of course, it's only fair after scaring away that vole.". she looked around cautiously, tasting the air for enemy scents.

Turning toward the direction of camp, she flicked her tail in a beckoning gesture. "Come on, let's try our luck deeper into the territory. This breeze is carrying our scents toward the direction of the pond anyway.", she didn't add that she was also slightly wary of prey in this part of the territory, with poisoned prey having been causing mayhem within Thunderclan. She loved vole, but was it really worth risking it? She wouldn't be able to live with herself if she were to be the one to bring home poisoned prey. She led the way, quietly explaining how she manages to keep her movement through the brush as quiet as possible as she head onward.

(ooc: not sure if you wanted to hop over to another section of Thunderclan territory to play out a little hunt or have us go right back to camp to meet up with Ivypaw's mentor? :) )
