Roxie bit back a laugh. Today is bringing out the worst in me! She thought, semi-panicked. Never before had she ever been this mean to someone, and she didn't know why she was. Was Roxanne... envious of Air? No! She thought desperately, but she knew she was. Why was his momma so perfect and hers... wasn't? She turned away from Air, gaze darkened, face crestfallen. "Well clearly not anymore." She spat out bitterly, turning her back to him as she slowly began to break. She didn't want any cat to see her not nearly as happy as she usually was, so she dug her face into her side and slapped her tail over her muzzle in front of her eyes, shielding them from others.

Roxie calmed her little heart and his teased herself against the she-cat. Sugardapple is much better than Momma was. Roxanne thought but the mention of getting a new name made her pull herself together so she could look up at the two of them with wide eyes. She didn’t respond to Air’s comment; she was afraid she was going to lash out again and truthfully the tom kit didn’t do anything wrong and she was unfairly taking her anger - and horrible emotions - out on him. “Why can’t I keep Roxie?” She mewled quietly, though was glad to get rid of the name that tethered her to her parents. She would finally be rid of them and she perked up at the thought, looking at Sugardapple hopefully. “Can we change mine now?” She asked, drawing her tongue over her fluffy fur.
