"Maybe I should stay." Chaka's voice was quiet.
"What?" Vexy whirled on him at once.
Chaka shoved his hands into his pockets. "I should stay here with Koro and her mom." He interrupted when Vexy began to object. "What if the demon comes for them, too?"
Vexy looked slightly uneasy. "Cha."
Chaka lowered his voice. "I can't lose her like Kiliah, Vexy." His eyes burned into his sister's. "I won't."
Vexy seemed to hesitate, but caved. "Chaka Samuel Prime if it comes this way--"
Chaka held a hand up. "I'll call you."
