Re: The Weeping Tree

~ Sparrowflight ~

A short sigh whisked out of Sparrowflight's muzzle as she placed her catch on the ground and the pair greeted her and attempted to explain themselves. She couldn't hold it against them, they were only kits trying to have fun, but this was an issue of safety.

"Hello," she mewed back, keeping her tone level and her eyes locked onto their ruffled and snow-dusted fur. Clearly they had been having a grand old time and she had to be the grumpy grown-up cat to end it with responsibilities. "I don't believe you were trying to run away. Besides, your paws have got to be half frozen off in this weather."

A quick scan of the area didn't bring any more kits into view, so the tan she-cat flicked her tail back towards camp and gave the two trouble-makers a stern look.

"You're luck it was me who spotted you and not Dogbark. You'd get an additional lecture all the way back to camp on top of having to go see Aspenstar," she chided gently. "As it stands, we WILL have to go talk with him in camp and your mothers are probably worried sick about where you two ran off to."

Another huff of cold breath escaped her muzzle and she picked her prey back up before turning back towards the camp.

"Come along now, I want you two in front of me so I can make sure we get back to camp safely," she murmured through the vole's fur. Well, at least this could lead nicely into the chat with Dogbark that she wanted to have.

(We can have them chat more going back, or move them to the clearing. Whichever you two prefer! @Brightlight @Cloud- )

Re: The Weeping Tree

Well, this was great. For the first time, Firkit got that feeling, where your stomach feels like a pit, and that jumping off of a high tree is the better option when out next to what comes next.

Just as Firkit heard the word ‘mother’ she yelped. My, oh my, this kit had practically dug her own grave when she suggested they go play at the Weeping Tree. The warrior wasn’t lying, her mother probably was worried sick. So to add on top of discipline and lecturing from Dogbark, the same thing would come from her mother.

Just then, the kit’s psychological view on life kicked in. Of course, she could use her many techniques of talking and perspective to worm her way out of this mess. She was already mentally preparing her defenses. Keep your temper down. Speak in a mildly careless, yet respectful tone. Remember, it will all be over after punishment is completed as well as lectures.

[hm, i don’t know, what do you think @Brightlight? @Jayvines ]

@Cloud-

(I have no idea.)

--Nightkit--

Nightkit could only just stand there. It felt almost like her stomach had just dropped to the floor, like that time she had gotten lost in her own camp and had no way to get back to the Nursery if it hadn't been for that warrior.

Nightkit winced. She couldn't believe she was actually going to get in trouble. Usually her brother was the one having to do this kind of thing. But, well, here she was. Nightkit resisted the urge to argue back to say anything, and dutifully followed behind the warrior.

Re: The Weeping Tree

~ Sparrowflight ~

The squeaks and looks of alarm when their mothers were brought up sent a pang of empathy through the she-cats heart. She remembered when she used to want nothing more than to make her mother proud, and the small bits of mischief she caused made her felt like she was disappointing her somehow.

"I'm sure you'll be fine," she tried to reassure them, gently tapping each of them with her tail as they moved in front of her and started the trek home. "Let me know if either of you get sore paws. My back is free to ride if you'd rather not walk."

Oh stars, kits had such big feelings stuck in their tiny little bodies. Perhaps warriors mellowed out because they grew enough so that it didn't feel like those emotions were trying to burst out at every turn. Hmmm something to ponder later when she went on her next run.

(Alrighty then, I'll move this to the clearing for the deputy interaction if you think they'd be a little silent on the walk home and Sparrowflight wil make it up to them later. I promise XD @Brightlight @Cloud- )

Re: The Weeping Tree

Harespring walked to the Weeping Tree, letting out a low sigh when he arrived. He often came here to relax or stretch his scarred limb, but today was for the latter. The dark brown tabby tom took in a deep breath before beginning his stretches, stretching his partially lame leg with a hiss, lost in his exercises.

Re: The Weeping Tree

-->Wildspark<--
The Thunderclan warrior decided to move over to a spot in the territory he never once had been to. He had heard what this place was, but never really noticed before. He wasn't supposed to like his clanmates. Wildspark moved over to the tree seeing the scars that somebody had done in what most likely was anger. It was sad he never had the chance to do this himself, but at the same time he had more respect. Wildspark sat down on his own and decided to stay a while on his own.

Re: The Weeping Tree

~ Sparrowflight | Lynxfuzz | @Papaya ~

Giving Lynxfuzz a cautious smile back, Sparrowflight hummed in acknowledgement before padding quickly out of camp. After a few moments of silent walking, she let a quick huff of breath escape her as they made their way to the Weeping Tree. "How are you with races," she queried in an attempt to prod some excitement into this patrol. "I'll give you the first piece of prey I catch if you can beat me to the Weeping Tree."

A bright smile was shot towards Lynxfuzz as Sparrowflight offered her challenge. She wanted to get to know her clanmates better and a challenge usually seemed to help crack most cat's hardened exteriors.

>Lynxfuzz<
Lynxfuzz eyed Sparrowflight sideways as she spoke, and then simply shrugged, shifting the stalk of grass in his mouth from side to side. "Depends," he said. "How hard are you willing to try to beat me?"

And then without another word, he bunched up his legs and bolted, long ears flapping in the wind he kicked up and snow spraying out behind him. 'How was he with races'- ha! As if that was even a question that needed to be asked! Everyone knew he was the fastest cat in ThunderClan, what use was there trying to prove otherwise? He'd even be generous and deny his prize when he beat Sparrowflight.

Re: The Weeping Tree

~ Sparrowflight | Lynxfuzz | @Papaya ~

Sparrowflight's eyes playfully narrowed at his response, but before she could open her jaws to speak he was racing away.

Oh no you don't, you little bugger.

An eager grin stretched itself across her muzzle as she leapt after her hunting partner as he ran off. Perhaps Lynxfuzz would be a worthy racing partner as well! Lithe limbs stretching out to their fullest extent, the tan warrior could feel her body warming up as her paws rushed her through the undergrowth and the familiar kiss of the wind brushed through her pelt. This young tom wouldn't know what hit them once she past them. They'd eat snow for bursting off without a proper start!

An amused bubble of laughter escaped her muzzle and she pushed herself even faster to match his pace and give him a challenging grin before attempting to dart further ahead. She knew a few shortcuts from her recreational runs about the territory, so maybe she'd get the jump on him.

Re: The Weeping Tree

Ridgeclaw was going on a rare walk today hobbling around in the weak winter light aimlessly. It was strange to see an elder outside the camp especially one with the grizzled toms disability but he was going half crazy in the camp at the moment with all the kits and old apprentices of his bothering him and the instability of the leadership of late. Though he wasnt sure why the most recent bout of discord bothered him to be honest, thunderclan was always like this and to the chaotic old man it was part of its charm but latley..... bah maybe he was getting too old to enjoy life as he once did he remembered everything from the old camp to the old leaders being better in his youth. Speaking of which he'd managed to make his way to the weeping tree marked with old deaths the elder had witnessed in his time. So many of these cats had died in the old camp never making it out of what had been their home and was now their grave but the old tom still missed the place even if he didnt know why.... Ridgeclaw stood for a moment just staring when a large gust of wind unballenced him and the tailless tripod curse as he fell over with a thudd onto the ground.
