Re: Cattail Pond
@Rainquail
Silverpool sighed. Why did queens do that? She knew they wanted to protect their kits, but it planted such strange ideas in their heads. "Well, that isn't true," she said in a no-nonsense tone, "I'm sure they were only stories meant to keep you safe. Now that you're an apprentice, there's no need for them anymore." She followed Halfpaw out of the water, not bothering to shake the droplet from her sleek fur. She swam so much there was basically a waterproof coat on her fur by now. She nodded with a purr. "I'd love to take you fishing, just ask me whenever," she offered. The apprentice was confusing, but she had kind of grown on Silverpool. |
Re: Cattail Pond
~[Creekflow]~ "Mmhm I get ya. I come here for similar reasons. It's a swell place to go to if you need a few moments to yourself and I agree that it has some pretty good fish." he answered with a lazy grin. His blue-green gaze looked back to the rippling water and then back at Lotusheart. He suddenly had an idea. It seemed like a great opportunity to share a meal. Quote:
---------------------------- Creekflow sat up straighter and turned back to look at the she-cat beside him. "Lemme do something real quick." he meowed while shuffling back a few mouselengths. His face wrinkled in concentration as his eyes traced the speedy movements under the water. He made sure his shadow wasn't casting across the surface before unsheathing the claws of his right paw. He waited patiently for a fish to swim right below. As soon as one came into his immediate vicinity, he hooked it out with sharp claws and tossed it beside him. He swiftly delivered a killing bite before grinning. It was a real nice looking perch, a decent enough meal for Lotus. The tom repeated his recent actions and this time, a juicy chub was what he fished up. Ah yes. His second favorite prey! Pride swelled up in his chest as he sat back up. Hopefully Lotus will enjoy her fish. The mottled warrior shuffled back forward and slid both catches forward so that one lay right in front of the she-cat and one in front of him. "Ta-da! A quick snack for each of us. I ain't the best hunter but my current skills do me decent. Go ahead and dig in." he said with a purr. His blue-green eyes glistened with soft glee. He was secretly surprised he didn't butcher the catches. It was a good day if he didn't make a fool of himself in front of someone. |

"Aww, thank you. You really didn't have to do that. I can fish too!" she mewed, slightly embarrassed that someone was doing her a favor. She bent down and took a bite out of the fish. "Iff gweat!" she said, mouth full. |

~Silentheart~ (Since he got his warrior name, I gonna use that hehe) The tabby let out the sigh of relief when the other cat wasn't dead. He wondered what their name was since Silentheart barely got to know the names of cats due to hating to be social. Stuttering sounds like someone spitting all over the place which was definitely not a nice sound to him. Darn, how the heck did he manage to develop stuttering when only his father had it. Oh wait- oh... Holy! They were talking to him! HIMMM! Silentheart*nearly choked when they started talking to them. He really just found out his gay side with Owlflight just a moon ago. Gosh, with that knowledge, every single tom was looking beautiful. Uh oh- do they expect a response back? Ummmm ~brainfreeze~ uhhhh?!? JUST SPIT OUT SOME WORDS YA BIG STUTTERING LUMP, his brain yelled at him. "Hhhhhhh-hiiii! S-Silentheart uhhh I am," he stammered feeling his family in Starclan plus his braincells*all face pawing him. Way to make an introduction... way to go... { @elysian } |

Re: Cattail Pond
-- @hope -- Dayheart was officially Mr. Weird and Crazy. Eelpaw did not understand them. Had absolutely no clue on how this tom even managed to exist as a warrior. How did that even happen? Maybe they would have to speak to Mr. Leader about it... because that would surely give them an answer would it not? But before they could do anything, they were drenched. Why were they drenched? Because someone had drenched them. And Eelpaw was not a fan! Could it just... not stop. They were peacefully blowing bubbles and then Mr.Crazy had to interrupt them! Why... oh well, it shouldn't be something to throw a fuss over, Eelpaw was better than that. And then when he moved back to Eelpaw and then proceeded to stick his entire face down into the water, Eelpaw frowned. And then proceeded to do the exact same only to come up coughing and trying their best to expel the water from their lungs that had somehow gotten trapped thanks to Mr. Crazy's bad encouragement, and it was then that they decided, that nope. They were not going to spend more time in Mr.Crazy's company. At least they'd not been drowned yet though! That was something... that was something they could brag about and they smiled at the thought. They'd yet to drown and that was one massive goal was it not? Oh yes it was! And then when Mr. Crazy actually managed to blow the bubbles he thanked them? "Well... you're also quite stupid so I take that with a nerve, because its coming from a crazy cat." Blunt and direct. Had they somehow hurt his feelings? Hopefully not. Eelpaw suspected such words would likely make the warrior start bawling and they didn't want that. As a bubble popped right in their face though, they retreated and proceeded to frown. "Can you teach me how to hunt properly? Or get out of mud?" |
Re: Cattail Pond
~[Creekflow]~ The mottled tom couldn't help the pleased purr that escaped his chest. She was enjoying the fish and wasn't annoyed at all. "I know. I just wanted to catch us both some prey so that we don't have to chat on an empty stomach. Besides, I need all the hunting practice I could get. I'm pretty average and I'm hoping to be rather proficient at it one day." he meowed, warm tone encompassing his words. He took a quick bite of his catch to try and hide the grin that was on the verge of coming out. he didn't want her to think he was weird.Quote:
After the she-cat spoke again, his eyes lit up in diluted glee. "I'm very glad you like it!" he quickly said, giving her a charming closed-eye smile. He ducked his head to begin eating his meal again. The silence that followed afterward was rather comfortable. The quiet scene didn't last long as Creekflow piped up to ask a question not too long after, "I know this question my be a bit strange but I'm in need of some advice..." he began, "Do you think you could give me some pointers on how to efficiently train an apprentice? I'm pretty new to this mentor business and was hoping to get some advice from someone who's done this before... I understand if not though! I was just wondering..." |
Re: Cattail Pond
well you’re also quite stupid so i take that with a nerve, because it’s coming from a crazy cat. okay! so, all in all, i give you free apprentice training, you give me free smart and sane training. that sound like a good deal to you? :)” dayheart sat on the ground comfortably, letting his tail wrap around his paws as he improved his posture. he patiently awaited a reply from the apprentice, hoping that the agreement that he’d proposed actually made sense. sure, maybe it sort of kind of proved eelpaw and sootie’s thing where they said he was dumb and all, and maybe the whole proposal was dumb and all, but it was worth a shot, wasn’t it? if he could make people stop calling him stupid and learn how to be smart, then he’d be a better cat! people would like him more! plus, eelpaw got free training whenever they wanted, so it was a win for all sides. he couldn’t see why eelpaw would say no. “oh! also. about that question about if i could teach you hunting and the art of mud and getting out of mud and stuff. sure… if ya say yes. if not, then i’ll probably teach you anyway because it would be mean if we went all the way over here to learn how to do stuff and then i just said no and left, but afterwards i’ll probably never see you again because i’ll be too busy being me and probably crying and avoiding you because my failure in regards to this friendship and your refusal of my proposal would be really embarrassing so i would just totally avoid you forever after training with you this once.”// @Arie |

Leopardpaw sat at the edge of the water, peering into the depth where little minnows were swimming. He was awaiting his first official fishing lesson, although he had done it himself before. Re: Cattail Pond
-- @hope -- NO! This was not their intention! Eelpaw could only stare as Mr.Crazy began to weep. They'd not meant to make Mr. Crazy bawl! That was not like... it was not.. it was not useful! And they had no clue how to react. How did you comfort someone? Eelpaw had never learned that and the black tabby apprentice slowly made their way over and then patted Dayheart's back before offering up their tail as a rag for Mr.Crazy to use for his eyes. Was this comforting? If so, Eelpaw was very good at it. They were very very good at it. But what mattered was that they were being useful and by attempting to comfort Mr. Crazy they were being useful. "Can you stop crying its making me uncomfortable?" the uncomfortable bit was also included in the question, were they really feeling uncomfortable? Eelpaw didn't know and well, they didn't know a whole lot in all truth so they were just going to.... try. An agreement, a treaty with Mr. Crazy? They weren't entirely sure on wherever that would go wrong or good and they needed to consult someone about if it was a good idea or a bad idea. But they could had themselves and well they didn't want to have a bawling Mr. Crazy again so therefore they just nodded along and said, "yes yes, whatever yes. but rocks are not useful. so i don't want to learn how to find pretty rocks. i want to learn how to fish, and fight and not die." That was their own requirements. Were they even allowed to put in requirements? They didn't know but well, they'd just done so! "But i'm not sane how can I make you sane?" It didn't even make sense to Eelpaw so how it would make sense to Dayheart was beyond them but if he somehow draw to conclusions based on what Eelpaw did and that would make him more sane? that would be fine... just Dayheart shouldn't rely on Eelpaw to cure his stupidity because Eelpaw was quite sure that stupidity couldn't just be cured. Could it be cured? Should they be useful and find a cure for stupidity? Maybe. But they did really want to learn something here so they pointed towards the pond and the area surrounding it. "Can you teach me how to land hunt? we can find a puddle afterwards. You already taught me the crouch, is there more to know?" |

[ @FERMENTED_CHEESE; ] Ashpool had wondered outside of the camp to take a little walk away from her clan. She had never really been to Cattail pond before, so this was her first time She was just making sure she would be able to make it back to camp. Ashpool was known for getting lost. She guessed age was just getting to her even if she wasn't very old. The molly stopped when the scent of a clanmate filled her nose. "Hey Feathermask. Enjoyng the beauty of the pond?", she asked. |
Re: Cattail Pond
@Siren Bliss Ears perking up and swiveling back towards the warrior, Feathermask gave Ashpool her attention . "yeah! Hey ashpool " she greeted back. She gave the Molly a friendly and maybe contagious smile, although she raised a brow . "what are you doing out here? Rushpaw was basically levitating along in front of Gingerfrost, on her way to a swimming lesson. Swimming was something she needed to know! Because.....Riverclan swim. And she was Riverclan. So she needed to swim! She was glad that she got to have a lesson, and become a super awesome swimmer and......all kinds of stuff! Pausing in front of the pond, she asked quickly So, what do I do first? she was just about ready to dive in right then and there, cannonball and learn on her own, but she decided to maybe not, since Gingerfrost was yes definitely going to tell her how, so she would NOT have to worry about going under and not coming back. Very good, not going under. Her paws were practically tapdancing in the mud, pattering up and down, inching her towards Cattail pond. @Estelle

Re: Cattail Pond
Why had he agreed to this again? Right, because for some reason he couldn't say no. And why was that? He didn't even know. Couldn't this apprentice's mentor teach her how to swim themselves, or was that one of the cats that had also gone missing, like his apprentice? Possibly. Gingerfrost sighed as he followed the ball of energy that was running ahead like her life depended on it. This would be.. A long day.
Once arrived at Cattail pond, the young warrior first glanced at the decently calm water before looking back at miss cannonball, having thought for a split second on how to go about it "Go stand in water, no deeper than your belly, and get used to the feeling first. The waters are colder this time of year" Any later and they couldn't have done this lesson at all. That being said though, his instruction was perhaps a little strange, but he wanted to explain some things first-- even if a lot of talking wasn't his favourite thing to do, these cats for some reason often needed a lot of explaining. He sat down, waiting for Rushpaw to get into the water, then started speaking once more "When swimming you will have to move your legs similar to when you're running, pretty much pushing the water away below you.." he was practically quoting his own now former mentor on her words "you will use your tail to steer where you are going, although for now let's just try a straight line" he paused for a moment, giving her the time to take in his words "Once you remove your paws from the bottom, you will notice that your hind will likely keep sinking. That is mainly because it is nothing but weight in the water, whereas the front of the body is supported by the air in your chest; meaning that you will have to kick hard with your back legs to keep even." that was all she should know to start, right? yeah, the rest of it would probably be mostly practical instead of just theory. "Now you try" he meowed "and remember to keep your head above water. In case you start drowning, I'll be right here" He then nodded to Rushpaw for her to go ahead and try. [ @gs29513 ] |
Re: Cattail Pond
Wadeing out into the deeper water as instructed, Rushpaw enjoyed the feeling of the mud underneath her paws, squishing and squashing. It was cool, and so was the water! A little shiver slid up her legs when she stepped on an icy underwater rock, realizing a bit sadly that the farther she got the more cold it was. NOT fun! She wanted to just....stay in the shallows if THAT was going to be how it was! But she had to learn to swim, and she did not particularly want to make Gingerfrost grumpy, since he WAS taking her swimming in the first place. Which she had thought would be fun. And the feeling of the water on her pelt, and the motion of her legs as she began to paddle, the water sweeping by in what seemed like gusts whenever she moved them, little bubbles rising where she disturbed the surface. As she listened to the instructions, she tried to move a bit more like she was running, pushing with her hind legs and just.......keeping her front legs in front. At the mention of steering with her tail, she turned, gazing at her appendage that was flopped in the water, looking a bit like a snake as it slithered along behind her, the poofy fur keeping it afloat. She tried wiggling it, and it did seem to turn her. A little bit. At the mention of the sinking butt, Rushpaw was relieved to hear that it was normal. She had thought she was getting really fat! She did not want to be fat! But it was normal! So she was......not fat. Maybe. Very proud that she was actually swimming, although with no real direction or purpose, she called out not particularly to anyone I'm swimming! I am a fish! Or at least, in her mind those two things went hand in hand. Perhaps not in reality. @Estelle

dayheart smiled at eelpaw’s attempts to cheer him up, sniffling at the pat. he liked pats. they were nice and warm and made him happy. he used eelpaw’s tail to sort of kind of dry his eyes? he was careful not to let it hit his eye, since that’d probably hurt his eyes, but he appreciated eelpaw’s comforting skills and let the apprentice know with a bright smile. “oh!! yea! sorry — i’ll stop crying.” he took a few deep breaths, cleansing all of the crying-y-ness out of his system so that he wouldn’t be making eelpaw uncomfortable. he’d also let out all the tears he’d needed to let out, so he didn’t need to cry anymore and therefore was now okay to continue the conversation. |

Minkfire hummed as she walked along, occasionally stopping to grab a flower with her teeth. By the time she had reached Cattail Pond, the golden she-cat had flowers practically spilling from her jaws, and several had fallen behind her onto the ground.
She sat down at the pond, watching with mild interest as Hopkit tried to catch the rabbit and fell into the pond. Oh, daily life in the Clan. A cat or two drowned, and there was nothing you could do to stop it. Wait - was there?? Minkfire galloped over to the she-cat, picking her up and trying to stop a laugh. "Don't worry, silly, it's not that deep! Your thrashing around made it seem like you were drowning. Don't do that again, okay? Re: Cattail Pond
Minkfire lashed her tail with anger when Hopkit's body went limp. She'd obviously swallowed too much water and.. Horror rose in Minkfire's gaze when she realized the truth. Hopkit was dead. She couldn't save her. The she-cat picked up Hopkit's body gently again, and began to walk back to camp.
Even though she was a kit, a proper funeral would be nice. |
Re: Cattail Pond
Gingerfrost was nearly relieved to see that miss cannonball seemed to not have much trouble when it came to not drowning, yet. Either way, she was doing better than him on her first try. He didn't pay much attention the "I'm a fish" par, marking it as nothing more than apprentice silliness. Instead, he simply nodded in approval of how Rushpaw was doing-- as sign that she was doing alright with swimming. "now try making some turns and circles" he told her, raising his voice just a little so she could hear him properly over the sound of water and, well, swimming. The more she tried she that, the easier it would get to steer-- that's what he thought at least. "and watch out for any rocks or tree branches. They tend to be towards the river bank, as for branches, you might come across some that fell into the water" he thought of warning the apprentice, remembering how he got stuck behind a big tree branch during that swimming race thing.. That hadn't been to pleasant. That being said though, Gingerfrost doubted Rushpaw would be bothered by any rocks in cattail pond: if there were any that could bother her, he presumed it'd likely be more within the shallow waters. But back to the lesson. If cannonball managed to do the exercise he had given properly, he already knew what he'd have her do after. As for after that.. They'd have to see.

Re: Cattail Pond
-- @hope -- This cat... this cat kept confusing Eelpaw and Eelpaw did not appreciate it but they didn't dare say anything borderlining negative because... because then Dayheart would stop sobbing and what they disliked more than being confused was a sobbing cat. Because despite being confused you could still be useful, but if you were like sad... you were only sad. There was not 'im sad but useful.' no you were fully sad and you were not something in between. And that was why Eelpaw disliked it. Ever since their time with Ms./Mr, 'I-cant-pronounce-your-name' they had learned that they had to be productive or they would be a failure to their clan... and so they were doing their best to be productive and useful. Wait. So rocks for like... looking pretty? But... but weren't rocks pretty where they were already?Weren't they like pretty in nature? As of that day, Eelpaw decided they were never going to move any rocks from where they originally where. Not even if they really wanted to hit someone, then they could pick up the rock and then return it to its original place after. That sounded like a good idea and Eelpaw grinned as they came to that great conclusion. "But... I can't teach you. I'm the apprentice you're the mentor, how am I meant to teach you when you're the one meant to teach me?" They were so confused and Mr. Crazy were NOT being a help and they almost just wanted to go back to camp, but that wouldn't do either. How do you teach someone to be sane? "I don't think sanity can be taught Mr.Crazy, I just think its something you're born with." But then again where should Eelpaw know such a thing from? They didn't know! So they were simply just guessing and bluffing like everyone did. That was another useful skill! Okay, so focus because now came all the answers that Eelpaw had been wanting far too long for. So outside of the crouch which was really important for land hunting of course, there was walk silent was it?and then be aware of the wind. Okay. They got it! They got it! Eelpaw could do it! "Can we go try it now? I want to see if I'm a good hunter." |
Re: Cattail Pond
She was going to go in circles? But what if she didn't want to get all dizzy? But he must have done it, so maybe it was different in water? Maybe you couldn't get dizzy in water? That must be it! Not bothering(as usual) to go about things intelligently, Rushpaw picked an assumption, and was going with it for the ride, or at least until she was fairly forcibly proved wrong. Which she might be soon, as she began to spin, trying and largely failing to use her tail to steer. To her it was more of a limp bit of fur than a useful appendage, but she swished it about as she turned, more to see if it would manifest any usefulness than anything. Which it did to some extent, pulling whatever side she swung it to dip into the water, turning her. But she had to paddle with one side more than the other to turn anyway. And here, another of her assumed rules proved wrong, as they often did, her head beginning to spin after no more than 5 rounds, causing her to need to stop, paddling straight for a moment before doing EXACTLY what she had been told not to do, which was a fairly common occurrence, so she might have expected it. But she hadn't, and now her foot was stuck in the crook of an underwater branch, not pulling her down exactly, since it lodged in her normal stroke, but keeping her in place. After a bit of tugging that got her just about nowhere, she raised her voice, a bit embarrassed to admit her stuckness, but knowing that she needed help, and actually making a rational decision. Gingerfrost? I have been attacked by a tree! Rushpaw squealed, giving one more tug, just in case. @Estelle

Re: Cattail Pond
Perhaps he should've worded that last instruction a bit more clearly, as it definitely seemed like Rushpaw didn't quite understand. She was going to get dizzy only turning in circles like that, but Gingerfrost decided to not say anything right away. He wanted to see if the apprentice would take a moment to think before continuing what she was doing. And clearly, she did not. the young warrior sigh but still didn't pull her out. She had made the decent decision of going straight for a bit (instead of just continuing the circles which, quite frankly, would've possibly just exasperated the warrior). He kept an careful eye on her nonetheless though, in case something were to go wrong within her state of dizziness.
And again, it did. He couldn't quite tell what was exactly happening, but it didn't seem okay considering that miss cannonball was in only one place, doing.. Something. He narrowed his eyes to try to get a better look, and just as he was going to ask the apprentice what she was doing, Rushpaw spoke. Hadn't he just warned her about it? He exhaled deeply. Oh well, accidents happened. Now, there were two ways he could deal with this: either he went in himself and got her unstuck, or, he could try letting Rushpaw unstuck herself. He chose the later, though kept ready to jump in in case something went wrong. Flicking his tail, he started explaining "look into the water and try to see how your paw is stuck exactly. If you are unable to do that, try feeling. Do not stop swimming however, and do not submerge your head in the water either." he would consider ending the lesson right then and there if she'd put her head below water "If you can, try removing your paw in the direction of an opening you might see-- in case you can't, then you might have to push a branch aside to you free yourself" he narrowed his eyes slightly and made sure she would be able to hear him clearly "If it's proving to be difficult, or you feel the tree shift-- anything like that-- let me know and I'll free you" he couldn't take to much of a risk. [ @gs29513 ] |
Re: Cattail Pond
Oh! Gingerfrost was going to tell her how to get out! She liked that idea! And he would not have to come in, which was probably good, because Rushpaw was guessing that he did not want to get wet on a cold day. Trying very hard and partially succeeding in listening to instructions, she heard him say to look into the water, which she took as shove her face in and look around underwater. Thankfully for the continuation of the swimming lesson however, just as her eyelashes brushed the water she heard the call "Don't put your head in". And while that directly contradicted his first statement(At least her strange interpretation of it) Rushpaw was not up for the complex thinking involved, instead choosing to obey directives as they came.
The next one being to move her paw in the direction of an opening, which she did indeed see, down under a fork in a tree that had ended up upside down, meaning she would have to make her leg go down before it could go up. Not that she wasn't already paddling. Kicking down as hard as she could, Rushpaw felt her paw catch before sliding out, pushing away from the snaggle and back towards Gingerfrost, her eyes happy as she called I got away! I was WAY to tough for the tree! I beat it up! Or at least, that was what she was telling herself, mostly to feel better about getting captured in the first place. Which WAS fairly embarrassing, considering her was an inanimate object with no brain, although she did have very little brain, so maybe it did even out. @Estelle |
Re: Cattail Pond
dayheart thought for a second. eelpaw brought up a good point, sort of. “but i’m not your mentor so i can be your fake apprentice, but it’s not really fake but i’m not really your apprentice so i guess it’s?? sort of fake?? but it’s not like the bad fake. i’m just not an actual apprentice, but i’m learning under you which sort of makes me an apprentice, but that makes me an apprentice under you but a warrior in all other aspects. and because i’m both a warrior and your unofficial apprentice i can still teach you stuff because i’m a warrior. i don’t.. really know what i'm saying anymore but oh well.” there was also the most important part: “plus you already agreed to it so you can’t back out now-! unless you really really want to because i’m not going to like,,, stop you, since that would be mean. but it’d be nice if you honored the agreement! :)”// @Arie |
Re: Cattail Pond
Gingerfrost kept careful watch as the small event played out in front of him.. And luckily all went well. He gave a nod to Rushpaw, indicating she'd done good. He wasn't quite sure what to think of the apprentice's excited speaking- nor what to do- so he simply watched, meowing a small "you did" once she finished. "And you did good asking for help when you needed it, getting stuck like that can happen even to the best swimmers" Gingerfrost felt he had to point that out. He was well aware some cats are either to prideful or embarrassed to do so which, depending on the situation, could have less than good consequences. There was nothing wrong with what happened to Rushpaw.
He paused for a few heartbeats, thinking, then moved on "If you think you're up for it, try swimming back and forth three time from that little tree to the rock over there" he waved his tail towards the two. The tree was fairly close to where him and Rushpaw were, whereas the rock was a little further away, but within sight and decently easy to reach "unless you'd rather stop right now, we will likely end the lesson once you've finished the back and forth's. Being tired and swimming do not go well together" and even if she didn't feel tired, he wasn't going to take any chances. Then he was silent again, for short moment only as a deep sight followed "and I suppose," he started a bit reluctantly "I could take you another time after this to cover diving" he finished in audible muttered, though surprisingly actually willing to so "but only if you show me that you have no trouble swimming and steering" he finished with his condition, then looked back at Rushpaw; if she would do them, she could start doing the swimming laps as soon as he had finished speaking. Re: Cattail Pond
Ok, so it wasn't bad to get stuck. Especially if you beat up the tree and got out! She could beat up ALL the trees! And then she would be so very very good! It would be her mission to beat up all trees! About to paddle back over and continue her self-assigned mission, Rushpaw stopped as Gingerfrost instructed her to swim from a tree, to a rock and back again three times. She could do that! Or at least, she was pretty sure she could! She wasn't that tired, and although the water was a bit cold she had largely gotten used to that by now, her body working overtime to produce heat. So she paddled over to the tree, digging her claws deep into the bark before pushing off, paddling strongly for the rock, which now looked quite a bit farther away than it had at first glance. Still, she made it to the rock quickly, turning her body so it was parallel to the rock before using her hind paws to kick off it, heading back toward the tree with strong strokes.
As she swam, she kept an ear cocked towards Gingerfrost, listening as he muttered. ...something about another diving? Was he also going to teach her diving? Now, or some other time? She wasn't sure, but she wouldn't find out until she'd swum the laps, doubling her efforts as she reached the tree for the second time, making sure to give it a good kick, just to show it who was boss. After all, she was going to destroy all trees, so she ought to start now! Her claws DID slice satisfyingly through the wet wood, although it slowed her down a bit. Getting to the rock again, panting a bit now from all the exertion, she turned quickly, finally beginning to get the hang of tail steering. Which was just as well, since she was supposed to have figured it out a while ago. Her strokes began to get a bit choppy as she continued, but she made it back to the tree, only one lap to go! Rushpaw's speed picked up again, the thought of diving now or later, and destroying vegetation picking her up, causing her to reach the rock probably the fastest yet. She wasn't consistent at all, but that was ok! Because she was about to be done! Swimming as quickly as she could, which actually was more like a crawl, she finally reached the tree, floating for a moment or two to catch her breath before heading back to the bank, shaking out her fur as she exited. Her voice rushed, she burst out What did you say about diving? Now or later? Because it is COLD right here right now! all the while hopping around, to get the blood circulating or out of excitement that she went swimming. @Estelle |

He nodded silently, tail flicking. He peered with wide eyes into the pond and flashed out a paw. He hooked a pawful of sand. "Oops," he flushed and sidled backwards a bit.
