Across the field, the ground begins to split in several places. A hand bursts free, quickly followed by a head, then the rest of the body. A horrible, piercing wail breaks free from its dry and cracked lips. More push through. More and more. The other side of the field is soon consumed by their bodies and their screaming.



Tonight, it is zombies. I have faced zombies many times before. They are usually the easiest enemy. And still they come. I draw my two katanas and look around. "Is anyone here not equipped with weapons?" I ask.

I pull out my switchblades, knives, and a sword looking at the guardian like you think I don't have any weapons.

I lick my lips. Stupid. Why did I phrase it like that? "Ehh. I think it would be best if we have half in, half out." I gesture to to fire-sword boy and Marin. "You two join... her on the inside," I point to the quiet girl, "And Ciara, Indigo and myself go on the out." Across the field, the zombies are starting to lurch forward toward us. I hope that no one argues with me, we have little time.

I followed the man, my cloak pulled up over the bottom half of my face. I get my bo staff at the ready, waiting for the approach of the disgusting creatures.

Fire grabbed his sword and his switchblades prepared to meet the worst, i followed the leader upon the approach of the zombies it was now or never to fight, i hold my weapons tightly on @Rabbiteye

I break into a slow jog. I wish I could switch my ears off to the zombie's screaming. A quick slash takes the head of the first one, years of this has made me an expert fighter, and I hamstring the second.

I jab a zombie in the face, knocking it to the ground. I give it a stomp on the chest~ just to be sure~ and move on.

Most of these zombies have little to no blood left. Something I am thankful for, as I dislike getting soaked in it. My swords flash again and again. A stab through the chest, a slit in the throat, a slash to the head. I glance back at the others after decapitating a rather old zombie. Is everyone still there? I do a quick face-count while thrusting by blade forward.

I continuously smack a zombie with my bo staff. It was satisfying to say the least, as i whip around to roundhouse another. Ah, this was more enjoyable than i originally thought.

I turn back in time to avoid a pair of outstretched hands from grabbing my throat. As the zombies fall, I notice a light in the distance, a little to my left. "This way," I shout over the wailing of undead, and point my sword towards the beam with an upwards slash. It is then that I recognise the face of one of the zombies. He is paler than when I last saw him, and his sandy-blond hair is caked in mud. He lurches toward me, and I hesitate to slash him down. He is one of the people I failed. My mind flickers hopefully. Maybe he hadn't died after all? Maybe this was the real him, finally having made his way back.


I thrust the thought away. He had died right in front of me, this was not him. I step forward and stab him through the chest. I lean in close and whisper into his ear. "I hate it when you imitate my friends." A small twist and I withdraw my blade, letting the body thump to the ground.

Finally I brake through the ranks of zombies and stand aside, lashing out with a single blade to keep a path clear for everyone else. "Come," I command. Behind me is the Haven. It is not particularly big, bordered by only a thin length of twine that runs around it about a foot off the ground. Beyond that is a small hut and a stretch of grass.
