Limoncello sat near the entrance of the fox den, finishing up his groom. He hadn't really been able to sleep, so instead he used the time to finally give himself a through washing. The snow outside had just become white noise, as he didn't notice it anymore, so he was surprised when he looked out to find the falling snowflakes gone. It stopped. Finally. Now we can leave soon and get back on the trail. He wasn't sure he should wake up Ice, but at the same time, he wanted to get moving. If I wake him, he'll for sure be in am unhappy mood - and I do not want a grumpy tour guide. Fine, I'll leave him to sleep a bit longer. |

Limoncello saw Ice make his way along the lower branches from the corner if his eye, pressed with his amount of skill. He's pretty good at climbing. That's useful to know. He eventually found a branch equal in height to the one the birds were on, and carefully pulled himself up onto it. The wood itself was easy to dig his claws in, and he cautiously - and quietly - peeked around the edge of the trunk. Sure enough, the sparrows still clung to the branch, oblivious to the hunters crouched nearby. Bye bye little birdies. Limoncello paused, looking down at Ice. Hiw could we do this? He could swat them both downwards, pinning them to the ground so his companion could finish them off, or he could take one and Ice could take the other... I'll let him get up here first, then we can make a plan. He really didn't know what to do because he never hunted with others; he had always been... unlikable, so no one ever actually hunted with him. Did he have to let the other cat do some work too, or was it just him doing everything? Would he be able to do things his way, or would he have to let Ice do his strategy instead? Limoncello shook his head crossly, annoyed he'd thought such things. It was uncharacteristic for him to become lost in thought, and he didn't want Ice to have that kind of impression of him. Besides, I'll just do what I always do; go with the flow. He decided to wait and see what he'd do, then counter it if he thought it was bad. See? No need to daydream about the what-ifs! |

So that's how these things work. We both share our ideas, then decide on the best plan of attack. Limoncello had to let that sink in before he could speak. "Well... We could each take one bird, but if I grab them both to prevent them from flying away, then you could finish them off." He wasn't sure if either if those ideas would work, but they were worth a shot. Besides, we don't have to do either of them; he may have some better ideas. Limoncello was always watching the sparrows from the corner of his eye, making sure nothing happened to them. This was literally their only meal, and if he was being honest, he was pretty hungry. We've still got a ways to go before we can even see the moor, and going on that trek hungry will not end well. He moved his gaze from the birds to Ice, watching his reaction closely. He hadn't thought up the most spectacular ideas, but they were all he'd though up so far. He'll have a better idea. |
Re: Limoncello's Wanderings {Please Ask!}

Ice thought about Limoncello's ideas, "We need both birds in order for both of us to be full." He said as he thought out loud. "I think it'll be quicker and easier if one of us is able to hold down the birds while the other kills them, if we go after one bird each, one of us might miss the bird and one bird can't feed both of us. I think both of us need to help each other get the birds." He said. Only getting one bird would make both cats grumpy and with the long trip ahead of them being hungry would not make it any easier. "What do you think would be the best plan?" He asked. He knew Limoncello had already suggested a few plans but he wanted to know if Limoncello had any plans he thiught were the best. |

"I think we should go with our second plan, where one of us holds the birds down while the other finishes them off." Limoncello completely agreed with Ice; one bird would definitely not be enough for the two of them. They needed both to get their fill, so it was really important they caught both. I do not want to see an unhappy Ice, or for him to see an unhappy me! He knew he could do a lot when he was starving - hence, his incident with that other tom cat only a couple moons ago. He was stupid, going around and stealing other cat's prey. Then he refused to get me another one! Rabbitbrain. Limoncello suddenly saw the flash of a brown wing, and he whipped around like lightning. Thankfully, the sparrow had just hopped closer to the tree trunk - easier to catch! - but the movement had startled him from his thoughts. I swear, if that bird had flown away...! He turned back to Ice with eyes narrowed in determination. "But if we're going to get them both, we'd better act fast, before they fly away on their own accord!" |

Limoncello loosened his muscles, trying to relax more. "Sure, why not." He was a decent jumper, and could definitely jump high enough to catch the birds. It wouldn't be too hard, but the tom knew there were plenty of variables to interfere. Things like the wind, the sun, and even the variable of how high they each jump. But he prepared anyway, stretching his back legs a bit as to warm up before leaping. These birds are just too important to lose. Limoncello looked around the edge of the trunk once more, relieved to find the sparrows hadn't moved much and still seemed oblivious to the predators. He narrowed his eyes, locking in on his targets. It's dinnertime. He glanced over at Ice, whispering, "So when I leap, I'll grab the birds before they fly away, pinning then down. Then you'll swoop in and kill them while they're lying helpless under my claws. That sound good?" He was usually more of a leader, but knew he had to include Ice in the decision making.He's just as skilled as me, so he deserves a say in things. (How do you think Limon would fare if he joined the DS sometime? ^^) |

(True, true ^^ Thanks!) Limoncello turned around, judging the distance of his leap. He'd have to get it perfect, timing it just right, otherwise the sparrows would take for the skies. I need to be fast, but still do it well. He unsheathed his claws, then cautiously reached out and gripped the trunk with his front paws first, then the back ones. He then pulled himself around and up until he was just above the birds, and narrowed his eyes. Perfection... Perfection... He prepped his back legs for the leap, slightly dislodged his front claws from the trunk, and flat out went for it. Limoncello leaped off the tree, claws extended and teeth out. The birds let out screeches of alarm and fear, trying to rise up into the air. Thanks to his height advantage, though, he snagged them right out of the air, pulling them down with him. Feathers flew as the tom landed on the branch, pressing the sparrows - one in each claw - against the wood. "Ice!" He called, struggling to keep both held down. "Now would be a great time!" |

Limoncello relaxed his claws as Ice killed the birds. He sighed as they went limp, removing his claws from their backs. Blood rushed from the marks he'd left, staining the wood red. Now we won't starve! "Impressive," He murmured, picking up one of the sparrows in his mouth. "Should we eat up here or down on the ground, where we won't fall off?" He wasn't afraid of heights, though he wasn't quite found of having dinner where he could potentially die. Climbing trees - that's fun. Eating in one... we aren't squirrels, right? |

Limoncello nodded, feathers constantly falling around his paws. The birds had lost more than a few of them, and they never seemed to stop coming down. Don't birds get annoyed by that? The constant dropping of feathers? No, he didn't want to be a bird - too many disadvantages - though his curiosity still made him wonder. He shook his head slightly, then started moving down to the ground, digging his claws into soft bark. He went bottom first, moving one paw in front of the other, trying not to drag the sparrow through the wood. A bird with splinters is no good to eat! Limoncello slowly made his way down to the ground, his catch lying limp and heavy in his jaws. It was currently useless, only making the job harder and more work. He grunted, narrowing his eyes. I guess I could throw it down... Having no other option, the tom spit the bird out of his mouth, and it fell faster then it'd died. He could hear its thump amongst the crackle of the leaves, and he sighed. Hopefully it won't be too full of dirt. He then continued on his way, his back claws digging into the tree while his front ones were more relaxed. After all, the worst part of climbing a tree was the getting down! Limoncello found the ground was a lot farther away than it looked. It took a long time and a huge amount of effort, but eventually he felt his back pass land on the leaf litter of the ground. Thank goodness. He placed all four paws on the earth, then padded over to where his bird had dropped to. It seemed to be in good shape, with minimal amounts of damage and dirt, and he was relieved. He picked it up and carried it back over to the tree, waiting for Ice to come down. It's rude to eat without someone - er, it least I think so. |

Ice finished making his way down the tree and shook off some feathers from the sparrow then padded over towards his meal. He took the bird into his jaws and made his way in front of Limoncello. "Shall we eat?" He asked Limoncello. |

"Why not?" Limoncello settled down where he was, the bird just in front of him. Despite its many feathers, the sparrow looked appetizing, and his jaw watered in hunger. This is a long awaited award. He pulled it closer to him, then bent over and sunk his teeth into its soft flesh. The meat was tender, just as he liked it, and it was east to chew. He savored the meal, as the taste was better than he'd imagined. Maybe it does taste better when you've done it with a friend... But none the less he dug in. Limoncello chewed slowly, letting the flavors melt in his mouth. They swirled around his tongue, and the tom enjoyed every bite. In fact, he couldn't stop eating until the entire bird was devoured, feathers scattered around his front paws. Blood lay where the bird had once sat, looking almost as if a cat had been massacred right before his eyes. Though this would've been a very different story if that had belonged to a feline. He glanced over at Ice, seeing how he was doing with his sparrow. He really wanted to get moving, though respected the tom enough not to rush him. He's my guide, and he could very well abandon me if he wanted to. |

Limoncello nodded, shoving aside the feathers strewn across the ground. "All right then, let's get moving." He carefully stepped over the blood staining the soil over to where Ice was standing, ready to leave as soon as possible. All he wanted right then was to get to the moor as fast as he could, and since he had a full stomach, he had high hopes of getting there that evening. If I could sleep under the stars tonight, that would be amazing. Though he'd found he liked Ice, and was beginning to wonder if they'd have to part ways. Honestly, I don't really want to leave him... Limoncello glanced about, trying to guess the direction they'd take. He was completely lost when it came to directions; another reason he needed Ice. If not for him, I'd probably still be lost in that pine forest, or have frozen in the snowstorm! He shifted his paws, waiting for him to take charge. All he could see was trees, just a collage of oak and beech, and he wanted out ASAP. Trees are too confining. I hope he really does know his way out of here... |

He was really enjoying having Limoncello around but he knew Limoncello would want to part soon. He wasn't sure where he would go after that. 'Maybe the Twoleg place.' he thought to himself. He glanced at Limoncello, "Where do you wanna go once we get to the moors?" He asked. |
Re: Limoncello's Wanderings {Please Ask!}

Limoncello had to think about the question before answering. He really jacket hiving much thought about after reaching the moor; he'd been focused on just getting there. Good question. What will I do? "Well... I was really just going to wander about. I don't usually settle down; I prefer to keep moving." Of course, this was just a suggestion. A lot of times he'd get involved in quarrels or fights, causing him to lose track of where he had and hadn't been. This didn't matter to him, though, for staying in one spot just seemed pointless to him. Why stay in just one little area when you could get out and explore everything there is? Limoncello followed Ice as he padded through the trees, the question of 'what next?' still on his mind. He wasn't sure if Ice would continue with him, or if he'd even stick with him now. After all, the moors were extremely close. What will he do after we've parted ways? "And what will you do? Return to the pines, I suppose?" He could clearly see how fond the tom was of the tree and their useless sap, something he knew he'd never understand. Living where the air was full of too make scents to count, surrounded by endless amounts of oaks and beeches and all oft her types of such... He found it very appalling. How cats stand to live like that is unknown to me. |

He had an old flame near the twoleg place, he could go see them. He also could see if his friend Sprocket was nearby. He was torn between asking Limoncello to stay with him or wander to the Twoleg place. 'Maybe I can do both somehow.' He thought. He saw an open between the many trees in the pine forest. "Hey we are here." he said and stepped into the moor. It was much more windy here then in the forest. He didn't mind it but he preferred to hide from other cats, that was easier with the pines then in the moors. |
Re: Limoncello's Wanderings {Please Ask!}

Limoncello stopped as he reached the moor. Finally. The wide expanse of grass caught his eye, and it was so much more open than the forest. It was a lot windier, yes, but he liked it that way - the wind through his fur was a comfort to the tom. And now will finally get to freely it again. Though separating with Ice was still on his mind, he let his thoughts wander to being back on the moors, his place of refuge. This should be perfect. Except... His thoughts were torn. Should he leave Ice, or continue on with him? Limoncello took a tender step forward. Instantly he was caught in the wind, his golden fur rippling in the invisible waves. He could see Ice was much more fond of the pines and oaks, though it wasn't too noticeable. He prefers trees, and I like the open expanses. How could we keep up our journey together if we're going in two different directions? He didn't say such a thing aloud, but it crossed his mind nonetheless. This was honestly his first friend who wasn't family, and even they mostly hated him. Parting with the black cat wouldn't be easy, but at the same time... "Twolegplace, huh? You got family there or something?" |

(Ahhh I am so sorry I swear I replied but what I think happened was I was in the middle of replying and my computer crashed or something) Ice closed his eyes as he felt the breeze against his dark pelt. He hadn't felt wind this strong in a while, he kinda liked it. It was a change of scenery and smells. 'Maybe I can change the fact that I travel alone as well.' He thought and glanced at Limoncello. He really enjoyed traveling with the tom and didn't want to part ways just yet. He was torn between staying and visiting the Twoleg place. "Yeah... Well a friend who is like family and an old flame of mine I owe a visit to." He said quietly. He faced the tom as his tail twitched. "So.. I am not sure how you feel but I enjoyed traveling with you and I don't want to separate ways just yet so maybe... You could escort me to the Twoleg place. I am in no rush and besides I have never given the moor a chance so maybe it is time I did." He said in a kind voice. He was glad he had a friend, 'friend?' He thought and shook the thought away. |
Re: Limoncello's Wanderings {Please Ask!}

Limoncello at first just stated at Ice. Hold on, wait a minute - this cat wants to travel with me? Every other cat he'd met had run away, tried to fight him, or - if they were a she-cat - fallen for him. He had never truly had a friend, but now that the subject had come up...I bet the Twolegplace can't be far. One last adventure with him can't hurt. Despite his morals, the tom found he wanted to stay with Ice. He could use a companion, and two cats were always better then one. "Well..." He looked his friend right in the eye, the smallest of smiles creeping up his face. "I'm sure this Twolegplace isn't far." And even if it is, I'm still going! Limoncello felt one last breeze ripple through his golden coloured coat before he set off. He had no clue where he was going, so he let Ice lead the way. Honestly speaking, he was a bit excited that they got to travel together one more time; and who knows, maybe they'd meet again in the future. Just cause we part now doesn't mean we're saying goodbye forever. He paused midstep, waiting for his friend to take the lead. "So how far away is Twolegplace, anyway?" He'd never actually been to the home of a kittypet, or seen a Twolegplace rogue allyway, so this would be a great experience for him. And it means he and I can stay together longer. (Well that's not good if your computer crashed :() |

Ice had a big smile of his face when Limoncello accepted his offer. The Twoleg place was pretty far but it should take a little bit less then a moon to get there. Depending on how quickly the toms were traveling. Ice wanted to explore the moor a bit, he had never spent more then two seconds in the moor and wanted to see more. He started to lead the way with his head held high, he didn't mind the wind through fur. 'It feels good!' He thought before glancing at Limoncello to make sure he was following. "It should only take less then a moon to get there, depending on how fast we wanna get there. If you don't mind, I wanna take my time. I haven't been in the moor a lot and I want to explore it a bit more." He said. He wasn't sure how much there was to explore, considering there might be a clan here. "Is there a Clan in this territory?" He asked. (Yeah, it has been freaking out lately so I have been using my mobile mostly) |

(:( All I have is my mobile, and it's not too bad, but a computer would definitely be better :wut:) A little less than a moon, huh? I can work with that. Limoncello knew the experience would be a great one if Ice was around, and was looking forward to getting to know the tom better. Sure, they were friends, but they didn't know everything yet. I can find out about his family, his life - all kinds of things. And know guess that means he deserves to know about me, too. He was quite terrible at talking about his personal affairs, but hoped he could get rid of that by talking - like, holding meaningful conversations - with the black tom cat. He followed him, the wind in his fur feeling nice. This will definitely be fun. Limoncello let Ice lead, though wasn't more than a step behind at all times. He regarded him as an equal, and though he usually wanted to lead, knew he'd have to give that up at times. Isn't that what this friendship stuff is about, anyway? The golden tom wasn't too sure, but since this was his only knowledge, went with it. "So, this friend of yours... Are they this Sprocket you spoke of earlier? The one who showed you the den?" It was a wild guess, but he went for it anyhow. He felt the need to strike up conversation; if they were going to spend a moon together, conversation was a great way to keep the mood lively. |
