Re: Haggard Ruins
There was no hesitation on his end, lowering himself into a crouch. Wolfpaw hadn't really gone hunting in ages, and from a lack of practice came plenty of imperfections. For starters, his paws were too close and his tail was dangerously near the ground - if he crept over a stick, it could rustle it and alert prey. "How's this?"

Sagefern looked disgusted. "What in the foxbrain is that?" he meowed towards wolfpaw. "First of all your paws are way to close you tail is to close to the ground" Sagefern shook his head. "have you never gone hunting before?" |
Re: Haggard Ruins
Wolfpaw flicked his ears, debating on how to take Sagefern's tone, but he adjusted his positionings accordingly. That did feel a bit more... balance. "No," it was flat. "Just some fighting and a patrol, really. So, thanks for the assist." He decided he didn't mind the tone, he liked it more than being babied. Made him feel .. better about things.

Sagefern rolled his eyes. "Its a slightly bit better" he said in a savage tone "You that mousebrain nose of yours use that stance and so Starclan help me you break a twig or your tail hits that ground I'll make you train like a softbelly kit" |
Re: Haggard Ruins
Wolfpaw let out a little hmm. "If it's only slightly better, then what can I do to improve it?" The first pointers helped, but Sagefern wasn't giving him lots to go off. He didn't bother to veil the scoff that escaped him. "Push me all you want, you don't scare me."

Sagefern moved wolfpaws leg slightly back with his nose and lowered his tail just a bit. "Try that" |
Re: Haggard Ruins
Wolfpaw let Sagefern make the adjustments. It felt slightly better, but the difference wasn't by much. "Am I good to stalk now?" He wanted to make sure he had the all clear to try moving forward. If the form wasn't good, then his movements had no chance.

Haggard Ruins, no? she'd never been there before. she hoped prey was plentiful there; but she doubted it, prey was out either hibernating or hiding. her mind was running unnecessarily; why? she wasn't sure. everything was happening at once. it frightened her. this patrol? it was like a walk; yet she couldn't distract herself, that darned tom was getting to her head. had she really /needed/ to talk to that ShadowClan cat? she.. was unsure. pausing, with her mouthed opened, she caught a /strong/ scent of a mourning dove. such a rare scent for such a cold season. and it was fresh, as it was strong. she lifted her tail, looking up into the trees. the scent had carried on to the foliage above, leaves rustling. she wasn't sure if she was going to catch it; her short legs got her barely above 2 feet off the ground. but she was determined. her clan needed food. crouching, she stalked closer, making sure no branch or twig left astray weren't stepped upon. the bird, unsuspecting, flew down to the cold sleet of snow beneath, leaving tinypine a perfect time to.. pounce! the bird was startled, its wings flapping around vigorously as it chirped desperately; although noises cut short as she gave the bird's neck a sickening crack. she licked her maw, finally looking down and observed it. like violetfreckle's prey, it was plump; where had it gone to eat this much food? how did it get this.. fat? she was thankful it had landed on the ground before she pounced, or else she would have never caught it. she felt powerful; like something had been lifted off of her shoulders. maybe it was the feeling of finally not betraying her clan? not seeing that oh-so handsome ShadowClan tom, creekstep? she shouldn't feel this way about a mere meeting. they didn't do anything- other than talk within their borders. tinypine, after finishing burying the dove, opened her maw once more. she spotted a squirrel.. although it looked scrawny. she heard a magpie- perfect. just what she needed. it sounded healthy, too, so probably just as, if not, more plump than the mourning dove. how could she get such prey? she was just that perfect! letting out a satisfied trill, she was careful to keep her pawsteps light as she stalked toward the sound of the magpie. analyzing her surroundings, she noticed it perched atop a bramble bush, plucking at leaves in its boredom. it wouldn't be bored for long- even less, breathing- for it was going to be dead and delightfully plucked from its feathers and eaten to the bone. hefty it was, the sturdy branches of the bush moved with the magpie as it jerked its head around, letting out raspy chatters and loud chirps. crouching, her eyes narrowed as her ears pinned to her head, her tail swaying just right above the thick, white snow. her belly fur were too thin enough to make noise, so, silently, she went forward, her pawsteps light as she effortlessly hunted, keeping a sharp eye on the magpie. then.. she pounced. she let out a grunt as she realized she had missed. wait.. no she didn't. her claw was stuck inside the bird's wing, the chatter of the magpie alerting surrounding prey, sending them running. she hurriedly snatched the bird back, nipping it harshly and just silently hoping that the other prey were assured and didn't /completely/ leave. pouncing right over the bush, she carried the magpie in her jaws, head held high. not because she was cocky, because its feathers were dragging against the ground. it was getting heavy. how was she going to carry the mourning dove? she'd figure it out. digging the dove right back out of the snow, she grabbed it, tossing it onto her back. that should do it, hm? ``let us get going. i think we've caught enough.`` tinypine's dainty voice said softly, tail held high as she walked. she sighed, shaking her head. she was beginning to get tired, and they way she had to sprint to get here- it wasn't a short enough walk. |

HeronSnarl had decided to go hunting by herself out by the old camp. Bad idea ma'am, BAD IDEA!
She saw a mouse, dropping into a hunting crouch and stalking up to it. Unluckily for her, the wind changed and the mouse took off towards the pit. HeronSnarl took off after it, ears pinned back. About two tail-lengths before the mouse falls to its death, it switches directions. HeronSnarl, unfortunately, does not. She flails, trying to come to a stop, but is unable to, sliding into the pit of the old camp with a yowl. |

Mudhound Thunderclan Warrior | They/them | 31 Moons Bilingual T2 | Flock Together T3 | Rapid Recovery Just a bit too late. But wasnt that always the story. Mudhound had set out on a hunting patrol not even two hours after Heronsnarl had set off and had even come to the same location. The old camp seem to be host to a lot of little rodents after all, and while a tad dangerous was a good location for hunting, as long as you were safe. Simply stumbling into the area had netted the tripod a blind mole, out foraging for bugs in the cold air and was snapped up by the opportunistic warrior, and following it back to the hole it came from earned another. They were just about to leave without even looking in the hole and spotting the corpse of their clanmate when the squeaking of a mouse twitched folded ears. It was close to the hole, but Mudhound was confident so with a careful stalk and a last minute skid the mouse was a caught. It was almost ironic, in doing so the dense maine coon mix had almost met Heronsnarls death but 'avenged' their death. Of course they'd never know that, only know that as they stood to pad away the sight of a familiar pelt caught their eye. Oh. Oh no. She wasnt moving, hadnt been for awhile and it was clear that she never would again, fur gently swaying in the breeze. The tripod for a time skirted the edge of the sinkhole, trying to find a path to get down and at least retrieve their clanmates body to no avail. There was no path down as they could see, even for a more agile clanmate. The sinkhole was both Heronsnarls death and grave now, so with a sad sigh the warrior spoke "Im sorry you died this way Heronsnarl.... Ill let everyone know so they can say goodbye too, I hope starclan is good to you. Farewell." before they picked up their prey and padded back to camp, downcast. |

Redhawk She/they | 29 moons | Ultimate Predator • The Collector Ever since Wolfpaw's question about if there was a view of the ruins from the trees, Redhawk had wanted to find one. She figured she could surprise him with it should they ever go tree climbing again! He was a fun one to be around and reminded her of the generation of apprentices that had fought tooth and claw for their training and right to be warriors. It was no wonder Bumblestar had taken a keen interest in him. |

(Lmao I didn't even see the Redhawk post, thought we were still waitin My bad) He hadn't even realized they all materialized moments after their names had left his maw. He hadn't even gotten a breath in before they were standing and waiting. A job well done, is what he would normally say if he weren't so deeply disturbed. "Alright. We're waitin on me hey? Let's get goin." he chuffed. Making his way towards the entrance of the camp. ------------------------------------------------ The trek back to the ruins of his old new camp was something he would never miss. This place could rot, let the earth swallow it whole for all he cared. He didn't. The willow tree dipping into the maw of the world always made him shiver. What could have been. Or maybe even what should have been. "Be careful. The dirt still groans. If you hear anything close to low creaking walk like you're walking on thin river ice." he said. Tail twitching as he slowed to a stop. Ears twitching as he looked around. Checking for anything and everything. Something was...off... he couldn't explain why. "We're here to see what's left n get out. We don't need to fall in or meet anyone who has." a hint towards a certain former medicine cat who was rotting in the roots of the willow tree he used to look up at. Ironic. He'd finally begin to give back to his clan in death. The most he'd ever done. But now wasn't the time to think about Sundust. He was on observation duty. "If there's any prey, feel free to catch some." (If you all could roll a 20 sided dice for me please and let me know what # you get in your next posts. Time to kick this off! /w\ :heartbounce: ) |

Redhawk She/they | 29 moons | Ultimate Predator • The Collector Trailing close behind Spiderthroat and keeping her eyes and ears peeled as they trekked towards the Haggard Ruins, Redhawk gave a nod of understanding at the deputy's words. She'd been here often, whether it was for hunting or a patrol or her event with some of the Clan's apprentices - or whenever she missed her sister. The ache was still there, and while she was positive it would never leave it didn't hurt as much as it once had. |

[The Fisher rolled a 16! , Fernwillow , Redhawk + Yarrowcrest are all blindsided! Attack dmg 13. ] The Calico saw it just as it was happening. A large mammal slamming onto the leaning Willow. Potentially, and if so effectively, launching Redhawk off of it. It was huge. Towering over the four of them with ease. A long thick tail lashing around. Getting hit with that would be something you wouldn't get back up from easily. It looked like an oversized marten, maybe with a hint of badger even. It paid no mind to the feline it potentially launched into the hole, the scent of blood instead catching the Fisher's unwanted and deadly attention. Void black eyes turning to look at Fernwillow, a snarl echoing out in the lifeless ghost town of a former camp. Without a second to spare it began ripping it's way towards the Warrior. Spiderthroat himself doing the same without a second thought. "MOVE. EVERYONE MOVE." he barked. He could worry about Redhawk in a moment, he was almost positive they weren't dead, so he had to make sure the warrior in front of him wouldn't get sliced into three. Flinging himself at the mammal, hoping his body weight would topple it, stop it dead in it's tracks and kick it off to the side. It did nothing to stop the beast. It's clawe'd paw swiping at Fernwillow. [ @/Micanomancy Please roll a 20 sided die to contest the attack :heartbounce: ] The deputy himself bewildered at the sheer solidness of the mammal. It looked soft and plush, much like a badger, but it was anything but. It felt as though he rammed his shoulder into stone. Letting out a hiss of pain, sputtering at the fact nothing happened. He was taken by surprise, however it only lasted for a moment. He'd prepared for the unexpected, it was a way of life. Asterdance was a beautiful example of that. Digging his claws into the side and shoulder, effectively hooking onto the Fisher, Spiderthroat aimed to kill it. [Beefed Up Tier III: USED] But it did nothing. A tom who could kill a fox by himself did no damage to whatever was rampaging in their old camp. [ The fisher rolled a 12 for the attack against Fernwillow, the attack just lands. ] Spiderthroat rolled a 2 , The fisher rolled a 4 ! The Fisher does not notice Yarrowcrest and will loose interest in Fernwillow after his attack. He will be after Spiderthroat + Redhawk at the end of his turn! Scrambling, Spiderthroat went to wrap his limbs around the throat of the beast, doing anything and everything to make sure all of them went back alive. He heard the squeal of that one that went flying so they seemed to be alive. Thankfully. But those claws made the warrior sweat. This thing was fast, fast and nimble. Due to this, it landed it's clawed attack on Fernwillow. Even with Spiderthroats attempt at helping, his claws sinking into it's thick neck, yanking his limbs back. It did more than his first inital attack, mainly because he wasn't aiming to harm, more so knock off balance. That being said the attack still landed on Fernwillow. Slicing across her flank. Although the wound itself wasn't too terribly deep, especially for the claws it had. This wasn't good. This wasn't good at all. What if it tried to follow them back to their camp if they attempted an escape? What if it was faster than even they were, at least one of them had to report back to camp, what if it followed? They had to keep it's attention! A hiss of annoyance bubbled from the tom. A mistake. Catching the attention of the beefed up weasel, it reared up on it's hind legs and flung itself backwards. ( Spiderthroat rolled a 2 (woof) The Fisher rolled a 6.) Unable to let go and jump off fast enough, Spiderthroat is effectively slammed into the ground, although his head is safe from the brutal attack, that doesn't mean the rest of him is. Spiderthroat is effectively stunned. unable to get the breath back into his lungs. That being said, The Fisher's attention only sticking to the older tom for a second before it's ears twitch. Instead zeroing in on the noise Redhawk is making. A bellowing snarl rips from his throat as it begins to charge at the dangling warrior. Hopefully she can clamber up, or get pulled up, faster than it arrives. (Please roll twice @/Tallulah, one to see, everyone else roll once please! Same 20sided die /w\ ) |

[The Fisher rolled a 13 for the Attack from Fernwillow, and a 15. Spiderthroat rolled a 9.] The fisher's attention has faltered from Redhawk and is instead now focusing on Fernwillow + Yarrowcrest. The Fisher is now RAGING The Fisher : 92/100 The Fisher : Attack Doubled. Within seconds, it felt as though he was kissing the stars. Wind knocked out of him and no matter how much he inhaled no airflow would come to him. It felt like was suffocating underwater. The only thing pulling him from his forced trance was the sharp pain on his side. Oh he landed wrong. Joyous. Hissing and finally being able to drink in some oxygen, Spiderthroat rolled over with a grunt, and got into a standing position. Stumbling momentarly as all the blood rushed to his head. Oh. He's going to be sore tomorrow. Annoying. It seemed as though two of the four were actively fighting it. One of them swinging in like they were fighting the frog eaters. That. That is what he needed to see more often from his Clan. Unbridled rage. It was a powerful motivator, as is fear. But...something seemed off about it. It seemed more...aggrivated. For the first time in a very long time. Spiderthroat was intimidated. Fear trickling up his spine as it let out a enraged snarl. Seemingly boosting it's own morale, if noises could empower, it's attacks would definitely be beefed up. "FALL BACK. THIS WON'T GO DOWN EASY AND I WANT YOU ALL TO GET BACK TO CAMP ALIVE. NOW." he barked. Slamming his tail against the ground to convince his paws to move. Claws clacking against the frozen dirt below as he sprinted to catch up with the other two. He'd distract, so they could escape, he had no clue how the one who got launched was fairing, but if they needed help than the other two had to leave now. Aiming to leap ontop of the Fisher, landing squarely on it's side once more, claws digging in. An attempt to steer rather than attack. The Fisher, after having taken a decent slashing from the one he slashed previously. His cheeks and head burned as it managed to dodge the eye and ear attack. The Warrior only just barely missing, but it still did a decent chunk of damage. That being said, since it saw the attack from the other coming, especially since he was so close to the duo, he easily dodged and kicked his front leg out in an attempt to swat the other cat away. [ The fisher rolled a 14 + 2, 16, pls roll to contest @/silver.] It than went to yank the cat from it's shoulders, sharp jaws aiming to clamp around anything it could grab ahold of and launch her. It's plan was to whip it's head and send her flying if it grappled. [ Fisher rolled a 18 + 2 , 20, pls roll to contest @/Micanomancy] The Fisher is Raging.
