Nightshade sat in the clearing, her eyes looking for Jack. She was surprised the tom didn't ask her to be his mate....unless he had someone else in mind? she thought

Jack looked around the clearing. He grabbed a shrew off the top of the fresh kill pile. It smelled of Nightshade, and he purred. She had caught this one. He snuck a look at her, his cheeks becoming hot. Was she going to ask him to be her mate? He shook his head. That would be selfish. What if she didn't want to be his mate?

.Night blinked, he'd usually growl or glare at a cat besides Jack for getting so close, but with Kate he didn't feel disgust, or just a sheer need to get away. He liked her warmth, her sweet scent filling his nostrils. "It's fine." Night mewed, his black eyes rounded gently

Kate nodded, still stiff. We should go back. She suggested, picking up one of the mice that Night had caught.

Nightshade eyes finally landed on Jack, she purred and padded over to him. "What are you think?" as she arrived at his side, she looked down at his mouth and noticed he grabbed the one she caught.
