During her warrior ceremony, Willowwood had just.... sort of frozen up in shock. Dawnstar. The big scary one who she sometimes hated. Dawnstar, leader of Shadowclan, had told her to be PROUD. And, to be honest, at that moment, she'd done exactly that. It was probably one of the best moments of her entire life. She'd barely paid attention to the name she'd given, and that it was literally impossible to fluently say Willowwood ten times in a row.

Now, the newly-made caretaker stood outside the warriors den. She figured this was the den she'd be sharing with all the other warriors, but it felt so weird. It felt like the air around her was bending as she stepped into the den with a cozy happiness she hadn't felt for a long while.

Within the trunk of the fallen cedar, a pleasant aroma rose from the wood that enclosed her. It smelled of faint rain and earthy moss, reminding her of the coming Green-leaf. She didn't necessarily like the enclosed feeling; it made her feel claustrophobic, which didn't happen often. So maybe snoozing atop the log would suit her better. But she'd try one night here and see how she liked it.

Willowwood returned from her excursion with a mouth full of moss, juuustt damp enough to be comfortable, at least until it dried. She found a spot where bare wood held no moss nest, and plopped her bundle of greenery down onto it and then curled up on it. She forgot about the cramped space as she drifted asleep, feeling content.

With it being Mosstangle's day off from patrols, she decided to sleep in, curled up with her nose tucked under her tail. The moss of her nest was so comfortable, how could she possibly get up? She knew just how cold it was outside the walls of the den. However, it could not last forever. She couldn't sleep all day, as much as she might want to. She would eventually need to eat and drink.

With a big yawn, Mosstangle lifted her head and blinked a few times, taking in her surroundings. A few warriors sleeping, either the same idea as she or they were scheduled for a night patrol, a couple up and chatting, and others still just taking some time to relax, groom, and share tongues. It felt like a good morning.

Key word was "felt", apparently. Mosstangle looked up at the sound of Ravenfeather's voice, green eyes narrowing slightly. She almost expected him to start that argument up again. However, to her surprise, he apologized. She... really didn't understand this tom. From pleasant, to angry, to apologetic... The tabby couldn't help but wonder what was next.

Still, an apology was an apology, and she had gotten plenty of time to cool off. Mosstangle sighed. "Well, honestly, I just want to know why you blew up like that, yesterday," She replied, "I thought I was being supportive, but it seemed like I only upset you. I just don't get it. I can't possibly understand a cat feeling like cats deserved to die because they hunt prey, and I also didn't appreciate being shouted at like that." She told him, cautious to keep her tone even, but still keeping her words straight to the point.

Mosstangle's ear twitched as she listened to Ravenfeather's reply. She watched him pad away, thinking carefully. All this over such a small, at least to her, comment about a mouse drowning?

The large tabby huffed as she got to her paws and followed Ravenfeather, sitting down beside his nest. "What I said was a bit disrespectful to a mouse, and what I should've said was that I felt it was better the mouse drowned instead of you." She told him. "My opinion of mice and cats stays unswayed, though, and you won't be able to convince me otherwise. I always thank Starclan for the fresh kill I catch and eat, and that is how I show my respects." Mosstangle stood back up. "But, as long as you relax a little and don't shout at me again, I forgive you."

Mosstangle paused a moment. Go hunting on her day off from patrols? With a twitch of her nicked ear, she nods. "Yeah, why not? Let's go to the evergreen grotto." She suggested. There might be some mice there, but the cave itself was a nice place to relax, even if they didn't catch anything. As long as she didn't have to go into the stream, that is.

Leaf-bare may be ending, but that didn't mean it wasn't still freezing. Despite the sun having risen, Doeflame was curled up in her nest, savouring the warmth of the warrior's den. Eventually, she knew, her restlessness would take hold of her and she would head outside. But for now her distaste of the cold overpowered it, so she stayed where she was, watching lazily as her tail flicked over her brown and white pelt.

[this takes place directly after my grimpeak post]
so... this was his new den now, huh? his half-blind gaze adjusted to the lighting of the den as he slowly crept inside. his first task as a warrior? find a nest. cloverlark's small frame moved about the den, searching for an empty nest.

after a bit, he came across the perfect one. it was empty and tucked away from the entryway. she kneaded the moss with her claws, walking around in a circle before laying down in it. now that this was where she slept, she might as well find some stuff to make it less dull. but she wouldn't complain with dull either. after all, her life has been just that since miss lostspark's death.

the heavily scarred warrior closed their eyes in an attempt to get some more rest, their dark brown tabby coat helping her to not stand out. hopefully nocat would bother him during his nap.

Midnightclaw stuck her head inside the warriors' den, gazing around with their deep green eyes. They hadn't been in here yet since their warrior ceremony and felt quite nervous. The enby padded inside fully looking for a nest. Oh! This one was perfect. Midnightclaw stepped over to a nest around her size that was hidden towards the back of the den. She quickly stepped in, the moss fresh beneath her paws. She laid down, resting her head on the edge of her nest, looking around for a moment.

A massive, cream and brown tabby patched tom opened his multi-coloured eyes, blinking. Huh. He must've fallen asleep. Yawning, he got up, sitting, but still slouching. He flicked his tail, and looked around for a hot minute, thinking. His eyes drifted to the scar on his hip, before wandering around the den again.

Silentmutter eventually decided he would go visit his father in the Elders Den. Stars know that old grump could do with a few more interactions. Silent stood up, rising to his full height, which was very impressive. The part Maine Coon towered over all the cats in the clan, muscles rippling beneath his pelt. Blue and green eyes flicking around for a second, then the warrior padded (more like thumped-) out of the Warriors Den, and disappeared through the entrance, squeezing his bulk under the door.

It was very early in the morning. Mosstangle had been thinking for a few days... and avoiding Blackjaw. Why was she avoiding him? Well, because she had come to the realization that she really, really liked him... and she was pretty sure that she'd messed up. The tabby wasn't even sure if he felt the same way...

But, she had an idea. It was on a whim that she slipped out of her nest in the wee hours of the morning, the sun just brightening the sky but not yet risen, as she carefully avoided his nest and went to find... well, an aquaintance that she thought could become a friend... maybe, if she didn't mess that up, too. She was still a little antsy and unsure if she had come across as witty enough for the other she-cat's word games. Still...

With a light tap to the dark molly's shoulder, Mosstangle whispered. "Smokefern? Can I ask you for a favor?"

"Flowers?" Smokefern raised her head now, making sure that she heard that right. It didn't seem like her ear was full of feathers. At least Mosstangle had enough sense to ask someone to go with her. The gray and white molly pushed herself to her feet, and shook off any loose moss. The idea of getting Peachfuzz something nice was appealing to her. "Let's be off, then. I'm sure whatever we find will make this place smell nicer."

Mosstangle stared at Blackjaw for a moment, taken aback. "B-Blackjaw..." She mumbled, feeling an ache in her chest at how hurt she had must have made him. She had avoided him! And here he was, saying that he had been distant.

"Blackjaw, no," She said. "I'm the one who should be sorry. I've... been avoiding you. I freaked out and... I'm really sorry. I miss you, too." The tabby said, wisteria practically forgotten for a moment as she worried that he was hurting worse than she'd thought.

Blackjaw looked back up at the she-cat. She had missed him too, or she was just being nice, for StarClan's sake he just couldn't tell anymore. He could see sadness in the she-cats eyes though, that gave him the answer. He placed his head against the she-cats. "It's okay, we will figure out what the hell this is," he mewed. "What do you say we meet at the grotto tonight," the tom mewed.

Mosstangle nodded slowly. The evergreen grotto, of all places to choose. Of course she had, at one point, told him it was her favorite spot. "I'll be there." She told him, tail swaying a bit. She felt a wave of nervousness and relief, mixing and twisting together like some strange, abhorrent amalgamation. Yet, she couldn't wait to see him there.

Midnightclaw sat outside the warriors' den, her green eyes scanning the clearing for a moment before she settled into a side lay. The enby closed their eyes, listening to the crickets chirp through the night. It was pretty relaxing, not too many noises. Most clanmates were asleep. Midnightclaw relaxed silently.

The Dancing Bird
Owlthroat shifted and rolled over in the space of his nest. Groggy eyes blurring as he opened them and was confronted with the sight of his brother. ”Mornin’” His mouth felt dry from sleeping so heavily and he finally brought his eyes into focus.

The sun was just beginning to peek through the woven walls and felt delightful on his pelt, it felt like it was going to be a nice day. New-leaf had truly burst forth and wiped the cobwebs away from the long hard winter they had endured.

Flytail had been awake for most of the morning though he had tried to get more sleep when his brother rolled over his blue eyes flicked down over to him he gave a nod he wasn't sure on what he wanted to do one she cat still plagued his thoughts though she had disappeared as quickly as he had fallen for her "Bristlethorn went missing" he said montonly not exactly able to process his feelings "Do you think I scared her off?" he didn't want to think that was why though his reputation around the clan he was known as a grouch who was good with training apprentices and was kin with owlthraot surely he wouldn't have to live in his brothers shadow forever

The fact that Bristlethorn had gone missing was news to him, he let momentary confusion slide over his face before he recollected himself. ”No, it’s the life of a clan cat. We lose good warriors all the time, don’t beat yourself up. If you’re lucky she’s got herself caught up in something bad, but will make her return when she can.” He didn’t take her to be the type to idly wander away like many did in search of a better life. Owlthroat didn’t know if his blunt attempt at comfort would make much difference to his brother’s emotions.
