Whisperpaw skidded to a stop as Venompaw turned to meet him, eyes widening as he was wrapped in a fierce hug before he squeezed shut and pulled his friend closer. He'd missed Venompaw's voice, his personality, just, just everything about him. |

Venompaw squeezed tighter for a second before letting go to look at his friend. “I was kidnapped by twolegs. They took me far away and I had to find my way home.” The fur on his neck bristled as the thought of the annoying naked creatures that had captured him. Venompaw felt his heart doing little flips as he looked at Whisperpaw. He didn’t like it but somehow he felt himself craving the feeling. He brushed it off, must’ve just missed Whisper a lot is what he assumed. It was easier than admitting.... “Enough about me, tell me how’ve you been? What have you been up to here?” He asked reaching a paw out to lightly push Whisper in the shoulder. |
Re: ShadowClan Clearing
Juniperpaw yawned and stretched, letting her blue-grey fur fluff up. It had been a rather bland day and she was as tired as one who had been awake the whole day. "Anyone want to hunt?" She looked up and glanced around, eyes passing the dens and the shadowledge. No one had volunteered yet so that just meant it was her time to shine. She turned over and, after a short grooming, she stood up and was ready to start. What strategy would work today... "Hello there, would you mind to take me out for training?" A practice word, not direceccted towards anyone, but perhaps someone might hear. @Nixey (If you want to throw in Splotchleaf for some training, if not, feel free to ignore this) |
Re: ShadowClan Clearing
(Open to anyone, preferably a warrior! I'll have to rework her bio a bit to make her four moons along with a few other small changes, but otherwise it's pretty accurate to her personality/appearance and whatnot.)
~ IVYKIT ~ Ivykit sat in the ShadowClan clearing. She was a whole four moons now, so she only had two more to go until Dawnstar made her an apprentice! There had been that training event set up by Dawnstar, and the moves Shadestorm had taught her in the clearing, that she'd been going over in her head. That Cinderkit may have outperformed her, but she had beat Poolkit! Well, then again, Poolkit was the same age as her. Cinderkit was about to become an apprentice. Ivykit had been going over the moves, both in her head and practicing them when no cat was looking, but she thought that she'd try something else today. She'd heard some cats saying that taking the pelts off the cats you killed would impress Dawnstar. As in, she liked having the pelts. Ivykit wanted to practice early so that when she was an apprentice, she knew how to make Dawnstar proud. Of course, she had to be good at fighting and loyal to her Clan, but she should practice now, right? Ivykit was too young to kill anyone; as much as she wanted to, she was only a kit. When she became an apprentice with more training, she'd learn a lot more and become really strong! And deadly. If her mentor was incompetent, she wouldn't stand around and take it. She'd go right to Dawnstar to let her leader know. Seriously, some cats could not think outside the box. Ivykit padded over to the fresh-kill pile. It wouldn't hurt to start on a piece of prey. Yes, she knew that you weren't supposed to play with your food - every piece of prey was valuable, especially since the season of leaf-fall was coming and it was getting colder. But she could still practice. After all, she'd just eat the prey afterward. Ivykit looked around. ShadowClan cats mainly caught frogs and lizards, but there was other prey. Like perhaps a furry mouse, that would be like the tiny body of a cat? She didn't like eating them as much, but she'd suck it up and deal with it. Ivykit's gaze fell on a gray-furred mouse. Bending down, she picked it up and dragged it to the side of the clearing. Then she dropped it and studied it with sharp amber eyes. How would she cut it? It was just removing the skin and fur. She didn't want to mess it up, or else the prey would've been wasted. Okay, she could still eat it, but it would be good to get some practice in. Brow furrowing with concentration, Ivykit stuck one claw into the neck of the dead animal, then hesitated. She bit off the tail because it might get in the way and moved it aside. Maybe I should ask someone how it's done, so I don't mess up, she thought, looking around the clearing and hoping to find a warrior. |

Ravenheart padded over to Ivykit "is there anything you need young kit?" she said @TheNyanCatMinecart

Ivykit lifted her head to see a black-furred she-cat with blue eyes heading toward her. It wasn't a warrior, but it was a queen, Ravenheart. She'd have to do - she was a full-grown cat who could teach her how to properly skin the mouse! She even asked if she needed anything. Ivykit nodded up at the queen and pawed the mouse toward her. She ignored the phrase "young kit" because she was young, but four moons old, so not too young, right? Of course, she had a lot to learn still. "Yeah. I've heard that some of the warriors and apprentice skin cats that they've killed and give their pelts to Dawnstar. I can't do that on a cat yet, but I wanna learn how just so I know for the future. I wanna practice on the mouse because it's furry, like a body. Don't worry, I know not to waste prey. I'll eat the mouse when I'm done, I just wanna get its pelt. Could you tell me how? I wanna do it myself, but I wanna do it properly." @Thunderstrike |

Re: ShadowClan Clearing

Ivykit's eyes narrowed at the queen. Why did she look shocked? Hesitant? She frowned. ShadowClan cats were supposed to like doing this stuff! Any cat who didn't like to fight and kill was weak. She poked the mouse. Maybe Ravenheart had been the wrong cat to ask. But oh well, she was here now. Ivykit carefully poked one claw into the mouse. "Okay, how do I sever it?" she asked. "Sever... that's the word for cut, right? I need to go around the main body of the mouse, but I've gotta be careful with it because I have to get the pelt. Have you ever killed a cat and given their pelt to Dawnstar before? I wanna learn how." She looked at the queen, her head tipped on one side. "I want to do it, but I could use some help." @Thunderstrike |

Re: ShadowClan Clearing

Rip it in the middle? Ivykit looked down at the mouse. Wouldn't ripping it down the middle ruin the pelt? The queen didn't sound so certain; she probably should've asked someone else. She stuck her claw in deeper, going past the fur and through the tough skin, and stopped when she felt the juicy meat beneath. Her nose twitched at the scent of prey and her amber gaze narrowed with concentration. If the cat was big, would it matter if she ripped it down the middle? Or should she try to work around the flesh instead? She hesitated and looked up at Ravenheart, hoping that the queen at least knew something. "Wouldn't ripping it down the middle ruin it?" she questioned. Then she shook her head. Ravenheart probably hadn't skinned a mouse before. "Thanks, I guess. But don't forget that giving Dawnstar a pelt impresses her, right? A cat pelt but I wanna practice on a piece of prey. Maybe you should practice too? Wouldn't all ShadowClan cats know it?" She tipped her head on one side out of curiosity. "Or maybe you could watch me to make sure I do it right. Yeah that would be useful." Ivykit's eyes narrowed. Should she rip it down the middle? Actually, she might have a point. Well, she'd have to try and hope she didn't mess it up. Ivykit flipped it over and looked at its stomach. Then she carefully slit it down the middle. "Now what? Do I work around the flesh?" she asked. @Thunderstrike |
