And no, Daypaw is NOT dying.
Daypaw checked the medcat den one last time. Every last cat had been taken out. Every living being had been passed off for a warrior to help them up, Daypaw ushering up them the entire way. They made it up the hill and down many times to make sure every last patient of theirs had made it safely. Mud caked their body, running up all their legs and their belly fur with contrasted their light cream colored fur. They looked tired. They didnt know the last time they had slept, they didnt know the last time they had eaten anything. They could close their eyes and pass out, and let their body be washed away by the current outside. Their paws hurt from climbing up and down the hill, it was becoming a struggle to breath. Their den was washed out, unsalable herbs floating in the still water, everything Daypaw had worked so hard for go as quickly as they had picked it. They made their way outside of the den, feeling the rain pierce their body like cold daggers. Their fur clung close to their frame. Daypaw was aggressive at times to cats, but right now they just looked small. Small and scared. They had no one to rely on, no mentor to reside in and tell them what to do. Their clan was falling apart infront of their eyes, and Day knew once they reached the top they had injuries to take care of right away. This was going to be a long day. They huffed, continuing to walk outside of the den. Everything was chaos. Cats were screaming for help, cats muddy and look exhausted. The rushing of water felt cool against Daypaws body, the water reaching up to their belly fir at this point. Thunder boomed above them, rain poured onto them but they kept walking against the current, placing one paw infront of another. Their movements were slow, giving out small groans at every step they took. They felt numb and felt everything at the same. They could hear the screaming, the storm, the struggling, the crying, kits away from their parents, but at the same time they felt nothing at all. This was Starclans fault and Daypaw knew it. They gritted their teeth and finally reached the hill. With all the strength in their body they leaped out of the water, claws digging into the murky mudslide that was the hill. They felt a jolt of pain rack through them, specifically their shoulders. they had carried many warriors up this hill single handedly and it was taking a tole. They kept scaling the hill though. They had no choice to, one simple slip would send them tumbling down the hill and into the fast paced water. The water looked so dark from up here, the current was fast, splashing against the side of the hill taunting Daypaw. No. They would do this. They had never felt so alone. They had never felt so scared. They had never felt so little. They could see the top of the hill, cats waiting for the rest of the clan to reach the top for safety. Daypaw smiled, they could heal their patients, they could be useful. No. No no no no. They felt their body weaken. They shivered, claws detaching themselves from the hill. They scrambled to keep hold, only for their paws to be met with slippery mud. Daypaw fell. They yowled, paw reaching out for anybody to take it-anybody, "No!" They screamed in protest, shouted and pleaded for anybody to help them. But they fell. Daypaw fell. They could feel the back of their back land poorly on their tumble down, aswel at the back of their head be hit by a slippery rock. They felt a rush of pain in those areas, like a migraine. Then all they felt was coldness. They opened their eyes and saw nothing but murky water. They tried to open their mouth to gasp for air, instead water filling their lungs with a stinging sensation. They saw something that calmed them. They saw their father,Moutianfog. They saw their mother, Marigoldfur. They saw Cricketpaw. Were they going to die here? Only to be washed away and had their body floating around in disrespect? They wanted to die with honor. They closed their eyes and let their body float for awhile, ling burning for air. They could let it go right now. No nightmares, no dealing with harmful cats, no stress. An anger. No pity from others. They could let it go. It felt relaxing to have the water carry them away. No. They couldnt. They had patients expecting them. They had cats to take care of. Shadowclan needed a medcat in this time, it would be selfish to leave. Their claws caught grip of a rock, hosting their head above the water. They gasped for air, giving a few chokes and water spurred out of their mouth in the process.

Opening a pair of dazzling blue eyes, Cricketpaw surveyed the chaotic stormy that encircled the remnants of ShadowClan's camp. She had never been here during her life in RiverClan, but she couldn't imagine that things had looks like this. Dens were collapsed and being washed away, the once tough nursery floating downstream, swept up by the mud and rain. Cats everywhere let out screams of terror and pain, and she felt a dull ache thump against her chest as her heart yearned to reach out and help those who desperately needed it. All the training she had completed with Geckoleaf would be helpful in this situation, but right now it was about as useless as looking for herbs in a snowstorm. Her claws flexed as she took sight of a young warrior, Aspenfall, racing back and forth, first helping Feathermist, then going back towards the nursery. In another corner, normal warriors were helping those who were too weak or too injured to move themselves get to higher ground. At least Daypaw isn't just left by themselves, she thought with a relief, knowing that at times her former best friend could become a bit strung out.

With a jolt, a familiar voice cut through the current situation and the Bengal's head snapped around, eyes wide. There, struggling to cling to an inevitable mudslide, was Daypaw. The medicine cat was yowling out for help, though it seemed as if no one could hear them. Panic flashed through Cricketpaw, and the StarClan apprentice raced forward, gliding effortlessly through the mud as her faint starry outline blurred past all moving bodies. "Daypaw!" she cried, not sure if they would even be able to hear her. This was the first time she had visited the Clans since her death - she wasn't ready to face Geckoleaf in RiverClan yet - but Northpath had told her that in times of distress, the medicine cats might be able to see their ancestors due to their special connection. And right now, Daypaw seemed to be in trouble; Cricketpaw knew she needed to act fast to help her friend. "Hang on, friend," she breathed as she leaned closer to Daypaw, looking at them with compassionate eyes before standing and glancing around. It wasn't too far from where she was standing when Cricketpaw noticed Minkpaw. She knew of the she-cat's relationship with the old medicine cat Kestrelberry, and decided that she might be the most concerned. Working with the knowledge that Minkpaw wouldn't be able to sense her, she ran over, kicking up mud all around the she-cat, hoping to draw the apprentice's attention to Daypaw.

A strange calmness had settled within Minkpaw as the tiger-furred she-cat scanned the clearing. Most everyone had made it out of camp, a few were still struggling. She was about to turned and escape to even higher ground when a piece of mud seemed to fling itself from the ground and smack her above the eye. "What in StarClan's name...?" she blinked, turning to see who the culprit of the immature toss was. Instead, she caught a glimpse of Daypaw, the new medicine cat who had succeeded her uncle. A sinking feeling struck her, and without skipping a beat she bolted towards them, not even noticing as she passed right through Cricketpaw, who simply turned to watch from a distance. Minkpaw dove back into the mud, tearing her way through the thick brown substance until she reached the top of the hill that Daypaw was struggling to haul themselves onto. "Daypaw! Here, hold on!" the she-cat yowled as the wind buffeted her fur in every which way, her ears flattened against her head in an attempt to block out the windy storm. She extended her claws, hooking them into the scruff on Daypaw's shoulders. Bracing herself by digging her hind claws into the soil behind her, she heaved herself backwards, growling under the pressure that it took to lift the medicine cat. "Don't give up! ShadowClan needs you, you mouse-brain!"

They shivered, despite the heat that they leeched from the valiant medicine cat. Their paw seemed to pulse with pain with every crack of lightning, the torn flesh aching from cold and debris lodged into the wound. They winced, but clung to the enby, claws latching onto their fur, without hitting the skin, so they'd be stabilized. "Y-yes... Th-thank you, Daypaw!" they mewed, softly, feeling guilty for needing assistance, but simultaneously grateful that it'd been offered, especially by the medicine cat themselves. Their eyes closed for a moment, the brisk wind cold to the sensitive outer membrane, as they tried to keep it warm. But just as quickly the cool green orbs reappeared, squinting into the gale, ready to help Daypaw in whatever small way they could.

She was older now... practically a warrior. She could make decisions on her own now, and right now even though there was chaos around her, she just wanted to be with Tigerpaw. She was taken out of her train of thought as he wrapped his head around her neck and began to lick her. Desertpaw let out a few purrs at the gesture. Her trembling body became warm as she leaned into the chest of her dear friend. It had been so long since she felt the rasp of his tongue against her pelt and the low whisper that she welcomed. The she cat smiled as she began to return the raspy licks of her lost love. "What made you go back... to your clan when you left me?" She asked now looking up at him.

(Haha I'm typing on my phone as well so it's cool :) )

She wasn't moving. She was actually...allowing him to get close to her. That was good. The tom continued to shower her in licks, even if the light drizzle of the rain kept them wet, but not too drenched as the downpour happened. He brought his head up, stepping towards Desertpaw so that he was facing the same way she was. It was much easier to share the warmth his pelt had, even if it weren't too much warmth that he could share with the sleek tiger printed pelt of his own. The tom looked ahead, flicking his ears upon her question. He didn't know how to actually answer it, but he couldn't leave it hanging in the air like the day he left her without so much of a...goodbye. "I--uh..." What could he say? Why did she even want to know? Tigerpaw shook her pelt, almost like a dog until he realized where he was. It was a bad time to shake his pelt. "Desertpaw I didn't want to leave you! I went back because...well, kinda got a reality check." He chuckled, even if it weren't in a joking manner, but he couldn't say much on it. No one knew of his forbidden crush on the she cat except for Fairypaw who found out, and no doubt Stormwing, but she longed stopped talking to him. In fact, he haven't seen her around. Sure, he flirted with a couple of the other she cats, but that was out of the ordinary. It was who Tigerpaw was. "I also thought I was protecting you..." He whispered, bringing his muzzle to touch one of her out turned ears. "After the incident with...you know," he says, glancing at her scar. "I was scared. I thought I would hurt you if I didn't stop our relationship. So, I left--just so I wouldn't harm you." That was the truth, more than he liked to admit it, but he truly had cared about Desertpaw. In more ways than one.

{Open!}Hollowpaw panted. "I... I never knew there was a flood coming!" Sue said. Tears welled in her eyes. "Our home... Its gone." She said to Falconpaw. Falconpaw looked at his friend. "At least we have our hearts to remember it." he padded away.

Hollowpaw felt hollow inside. She was so afraid. She saw cats running in horror, she had woke up and cats were running. She was on Falconpas back. The eleven moon old apprentice had shown bravery of holding her. The small she cat crouched, small and shivering. The she cat curled up and drifted into an uneasy sleep.

Hollowpaw woke up in a forest. The light was dark and there were no stars. "Hello?" She called. Her cream fur plastered to her sides and her lungs burned. "Were am I?" She asked herself. She looked around. "Am I dead?" She was so scared. She ran forward, not looking back. She crashed into a black fured tom with deep amber eyes. She looked up, she backed away. "Were am I?" She asked him. "Who are you?"

He looked at her. "Your in the Dark Forest." He said. He sat down and curled his tail around his paws. He looked at Hollowpaw with narrowed slits. "I am Foxfang. I'm a warrior here. " He smirked. "You left your home... My home... " He'd hissed and dug his claws into the ground.

Hollow paw hissed. "We had to! It was dangerous! " She got up and her tail lashed. She jumped onto Foxfang and bit his shoulder. She slipped under him, but wasn't expecting to feel his weight as he let himself fall on her. She used her teeth and bit her neck and kick him off. She jumped up bristling and snarling.

He jumped at her and knocked her over. He dug his claws into the she cats shoulders and grabbed her scruff. He threw her at a tree and jumped on her. He dug his razor sharp teeth into the see and he heard her yowl in pain. He let go of her and swiped his claws around her neck. He pinned her down and felt her wriggle from underneath him.

She jumped up, blood welling from her wounds. She ran, not looking hack and crashed through the thorns and bracken. She ran, jumping over the logs and roots. Shed had to get out of here. She tripped and fell, sharp pans flew into her and she tried to yowl but nothing came out. She curled up and cried.

She woke up, back in the wet moss. Her pelt was sticky from blood and she started to lick herself clean. She felt the blood welling again and she just stopped. There was no point in even trying when the blood kept coming back. She slipped back into a dream. The wind buffeted her fur as she woke up.

She woke up in a small clearing. Stars shone brightly and she found a small she cat sitting next to a pool. She padded over. "Hello... Is this starclan?" She asked. She felt her pelt still sticky and clumped together. "I'm Hollowpaw... Am I dead?"

The she cat jumped up. "This is starclan. And no, you arent dead. Your clan mates need you. Go back. I will guide you." She said. She touched her nose to her forehead and licked her head. She felt the she cats pelt sooth and relax. Her breathing became steady as she curled up into a peaceful sleep.

She awoke again. She got up and went over to a puddle and started to wash herself. "I can't believe I went to the Dark Forest..." She told herself. "Why was I there?" She wondered. "Is her my mentor? Am I supposed to train with him? Am I going to do something bad?" The she cat kept asking. She looked at the moon and said, "I will make it... I'm a strong, smart and brave cat...I can do this."

The enby gave a small nod and started to make their way through the water. The water was up to their belly fur now, and with the weight of another cat on them it made them slower. Their paws felt heavy as if they were going to give out anytime soon, the trudged forward. Their vision was blurry from the rain, a grey haze infront of them. The only thing that reassured them was the feeling of claws in their fur, safe and secure. They kept their ears close to her head to block out the howling wind. Thoughts rushed in Daypaws mind, what would happen if they slipped? Would they be able to save the apprentice on their back? Daypaw would feel guilt every single day of their life for every life they would try to save if they failed. They refused. They kept going, coming closer to the hill now. They could see cats above, most of the clan was up there now. They gave out a shakey breath, balancing their weight on their hind paws and leaping towards the hill and digging their claws into the mud, the earth seeping between their toes. Rain poured against them as if it were trying to push them down again, but Daypaw refused. They wanted Avocetpaw to live to see another day, and they made a mental note to check out their paw asoon as possible.

Their claws stung. They felt like they were going to be ripped from their paws they were gripping the rock tightly. Only their head was above the water, the rest of their bodt effortlessly shifting to the way the water moved. All it needed was Daypaw to let go. It was tempting, to make a deal with the devil. Die and your pain goes away, or live in exhausted agony till the day you die. Maybe they should let go. Let go of the anger and hatred they felt for Starclan right now. Every drop of rain felt like another dagger against their head. It felt like it was pounding, it blocked out most of the thunder. They could smell blood, the space under their left ear was bleeding from the fall. Their eyes were lidded. The dark water looked inviting. For a moment, Daypaw felt at peace. They never felt like they belong with the other medcats. They didnt have a mentor to help them fit in, they didnt have parents who they would accept. Their siblings lived different lives then Daypaw-training to be a warrior. Its something Day had always envied. They didnt hold Starclan above them like the other medcats, were they out of place? Did they belong in the line of Shadowclans medicine cats? The water reminded them of something theyd see in a dream. Dark and errie like a monster, lapping at the edges of their fur. Tugging, tugging for them to let go. A temptation that they couldnt take back. Their body ached from running up and down the hill ushering their patients to safety. They put everyone else before them, and this one moment Daypaw thought of themselves. What would make them happy> Living a life where they got no sleep, everytime they closed their eyes was a world of detruction in ruins. Their body always exhausted from not resting or eating properly. Living a life where cats disrespected them on a daily basis for their gender. Daypaw saw a glimpse of Cricketpaw. Was she here to take them to Starclan? For Daypaw to become a cat they have always dreaded to be? To live their after life as a hypocrite? They smiled towards her,"Old friend," they would be with Cricket again. They would live in a world where it was peaceful, no nightmares and no worries. They thought for a moment. Would their mother miss them? How would their siblings feel? Would Hale find a new medcat, even if in Riverclan? The thoughts were endless but the same temptation edged in their mind. Tug tug tug. Let go. Just do it, youll be okay. Let go. Let go. Let go. Youll be safe here. They let their claws shelth as they let go of the rock, but suddenly felt claws in their scruff. They felt numb. They wanted to go to their mother and curl up like a kit again before all of this happened. They were so young, an apprentice, and they considered just letting go. Daypaw choked on their breath, more water ozzing from their lungs as they struggled for air. Broken amber hues looked at the dark water. Another time.

It happened so fast. Too fast. Marshfur didn't notice it at first until she looked to her right and the golden warrior was no longer there. Suddenly everything was crisp and clear and she was on full alert, she whipped around, scanning the land behind them, hissing as her wounds stung and burned. She could barely see, but soon she did spot Morningpath, half eaten by the void blackness that had tried to eat moments ago. Her eyes widened, but she couldn't find her voice. She tried to scramble back and grab him, but he was suddenly out of reach and water was lapping at her legs again. What had happened? Why had he just gone? Marshfur's mind was gone again, her sore legs scrambling backwards to the top of the hill, slipping on the slick ground as she tried to get herself back up, while also trying to find the tom that'd saved her. It was so dark, and she was so blind. Morningpath's body was nowhere to be found. She wanted to scream out to him, but she was slipping, and soon the muddy waters would be trying to suck her in again, and this time it just might succeed.

Marshfur hissed and whimpered as the terrain scraped her paw pads and her legs, making them more bruised, bloodier. Tears bubbled at her water lines, eyes still frantic for the golden tom. Morningpath had been there one moment and just gone the next as if he hadn't been real. But Marshfur knew, she'd watched the flood swallow him and drag him below the freezing depths. She didn't even know him, but she didn't want to believe he had just given in, just died like that. But if she didn't move, the water would most certainly eat her, just as it had planned to. She turned around, about to shout for Daypaw, but found herself sliding and clawing at the ground, her back legs and tail already being dragged into the water. She yowled for Daypaw, barely audible above the storm and the commotion, her throat hurt. Her claws left marks in the dirt, no matter if she made progress, the flood was still growing and rushing, trying to take her life with all the others it was so greedily taking.
[/COLOR]

Daypaw didnt notice Morningpath slip into the current. It seemed he was there one moment, and gone the next. That was a life. He maybe had a mate, kits even, couldnt maybe grown up to be leader one day. Gone. Just in the blink of an eye. They yowled for him till their throat burned. No return. Daypaw wasnt dumb and knew they needed to move. Marshfur wasnt next to them. Whipping around they realized the warrior was close to the edge of the hill where they began, only more rushing water greeted her as the rain was merciless. They slid down the hill cautiously, claws making lines in the mud and they leaned and grabbed her by the scurff again, hauling her away from the water. "Im not having you die on me too."

"Maybe you should open up your mind a bit more..." Rockkit snapped back. The apprentice sized kit leaped ahead of the group and squinted his big blue eyes. "I see them! A group of cats next to a small shelter."
"Thank..." Wolfpaw was going to say StarClan but due to recent events and everyone's current mood, he decided it wasn't appropriate. "Thank...you Daypaw for leading us here." He smiled awkwardly, teeth like shiny pearls in the dark ocean.

Hollowpaw heard a yelp and she raced over. She grabbed the toms scruff and pulled him out. She collapsed on the ground with the tom still in her mouth, but free.
