Grizzlybug yanked his tail out of reach as she lunged for it and used the momentum to propel himself completely around on her. Once he was facing her again, he shot out a heavy paw in an attempt to knock her away. He held back significantly, though, since he knew that his large size gave him a power behind his blows that could actually hurt her even with his claws sheathed. |

Grizzlybug blocked Eveningpaw’s blows and aimed his own at her exposed underbelly. He held back again, but sped up to see how many she could block and how fast she could block him. |

Re: RiverClan Training Island
Grizzlybug was left batting at air as Eveningpaw successfully rolled away and the tom backed into the center of the clearing. This time, he wanted to test her blocking skills, so the large tom charged toward her and skidded to a stop just in front of the apprentice, rearing up to send a heavy paw towards her muzzle. |

Grizzlybug rolled to the side immediately when his front paws came down, knowing Eveningpaw’s must have been in pursuit. He used this maneuver to pop up to her side and aim a few blows at her flank before leaping over her and reading his back paws up to smack into her other flank. |

Grizzlybug internally debated ending the fight by pinning her or letting her up and continuing. He decided to try to end it mainly to show what a real opponent likely would do. The large tom bounded over and raised a paw, intending to place his heavy weight on Eveningpaw’s chest to momentarily trap her if she didn’t manage to escape. |

Grizzlybug held onto Eveningpaw for a moment more before backing up and sitting down with a smile. “Good job, Eveningpaw! Good fight. Would you like to spar again?” |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
She lead her apprentice to the island, and mewed, "Now, the leap and hold is a move that is ideal for a small cat facing a bigger opponent." She mewed, flicking her tail for her apprentice to sit down. "You spring onto the opponents back, latching on with unshealthed claws." She paused for a moment in thought. "You'll be out of range from your opponents attacks and can inflect severe wounds. Always watch for the drop and roll counter move, and jump off before you get squashed." She mewed, giving her apprentice a second to process it. @Mumble

Re: RiverClan Training Island
After a shortish walk of silence, the two cats made it to the training island. Turning to face his new apprentice, his tail hovered just above the ground. "What did your other mentors teach you in battle training." He tom would be half surprised if she hadn't gotten any training whatsoever because she had had two or three mentors before Owlflight. @Greenleap |

That wasn't much to tell and she must of had Halfstone teach her something! "Anything else?" He had a bit of an annoyed face at the moment. He was sick of mentors not training their apprentices and just straight up dying or leaving the clan. His ear flicked expectantly. @Greenleap |

Grizzlybug flicked his tail, “yes, but I asked because I care about your opinion when it comes to your training. We’ve done a lot today and you’ve made real progress. Go ahead back to camp and rest, you’ve earned it!” The fluffy tom offered a big smile and turned toward the entrance himself, not feeling the need to escort the 19 moon old cat to camp. Then again, he himself felt like a rest rather than a walk or more hunting, so he waited at the entrance to the training island for Eveningpaw so they could head back together. |

Grizz trotted to camp with Eveningpaw, still having enough energy to set a brisk pace. When they reached the entrance, he praised her again, “good job today!” Then trotted off with a wave of his tail to say goodbye, twitching his nose in search of some fresh trout. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
Great. The two would have to pretty much start from scratch. "Alright, show me your best battle stance. Then, we'll work on techniques from there." The tom sat down, looking at her expectantly. @Greenleap |

Re: RiverClan Training Island
He sighed softly, hoping she didn't hear. Padding over, he decided to show her a good battle stance. "Your battle stance is similar to a hunting crouch, use your crouch as a base and then build on it. Watch me and then try on your own." Crouching down, he kept his weight balanced but, had it shifted on his hind legs. Owlflight's tail hovered just above the ground, similar to a hunting stance. His ears were flat on his neck, so say if a cat tried to bit them, it would be harder than biting his ears if they were perked. Moving more weight onto his hind legs, he leaped forward, twisting as if there were a cat below him to land on. Stretching out his claws in the air, he clawed the invisible cat before landing smoothly on the sand. Standing up, he padded back over to Greenpaw. "I don't expect you to be able to do that right now. So just try your best and, just do the crouch." @greenpaw |

Re: RiverClan Training Island
(Omg I'm such an idiot lmao) Inspecting her crouch, he nodded. "Much better. Just remember to keep a bit of weight on your hind legs. It will aid you in case you need to leap up suddenly or take off. But, don't put too much there because if your apponent were to jump on your back, you would most likely be lopsided." Facing Greenpaw now, he crouched. "Try to attack me, keep your claw's sheathed." @Greenleap |

Re: RiverClan Training Island
He watched as she got ready to leap. It was easy to tell, she was leaning back a bit on her hind legs. As soon as she leaped, he jumped to the side, dodging the predictable attack. Skidding softly in the sand, he kept partly crouched, ready to jump out of the way while he was talking. "That was very predictable, try something I won't predict." Circling, Owlflight watching Greenpaw's each move, hoping that she would surprise him. @Greenleap |

Re: RiverClan Training Island
He was sure she would try to fake him out by the looks of it. Greenpaw had been crouching, doing the same exact thing before. It seemed like she was going leap straight at him but, would jump or run somewhere else. As she jumped to the side and then at him, he threw his head up a bit, backing up quickly. His tail fluffed up, he turned and ran a bit away, not knowing if she would jump on his back or try to trip him while he ran. @Greenleap |

Glancing back, he saw the gray shape of Greenpaw leaping onto him. Grinning slightly, he stopped dead in his tracks but, it was too late, the apprentice had already toppled onto him. Giving a slight huff as the extra weight fell onto him, he began bouncing around, trying to see if she could hang on. This was pretty fun! @Greenleap |

"Well, maybe later on I can show you a demonstration, but not right now, since I'm bigger than you." She meowed. "now, spring up and jump on my back. Get a good grip, but always leave yourself a chance to attack." She mewed, getting ready to shake her apprentice off. @Mumble
