Re: ShadowClan Clearing

Today was a day like any other, except that Leopardpaw had woken up with a massive headache. A steep price to pay, but the young apprentice didn't mind as she padded out from the apprentices' den. Night time was the only time she managed to slip out from camp and wander the borders. She was young, six moons to be exact, but already her thirst for knowledge of the other Clans far succeeded her desire for getting a full nights rest.

Blue eyes still danced with stars as she took a moment to familiarize herself with her surroundings. Nursery. Warriors Den. Shadowledge. Medicine Den. Leopardpaw's gaze moved smooth, fluid around the ShadowClan camp. Places she had grown up knowing. A soft sight left her as she took a seat, deciding first to give her fur a morning groom before getting her day started.

Croakkit stared at the entrance, contemplating whether she should sneak out or not.

Buzzardpaw sat by the apprentices den, mumbling to herself and shivering.

Swampkit prodded at one of the animals on the prey pile, wondering when it died.

:heartbounce: - @Peril (Brackenfire- being confused while being existed around)

While some strange things had happened to Brackenfire over the span of her life, strangers approaching her and being all flirty and friendly like they were besties was new. She didn´t really get ¨flirted¨ with, or rather, if she did, she didn´t notice it at all. Her sharp yellow eyes turned on Honeyspring, ears pricked and claws sliding out instinctively as she was greeted by the other warrior. Eyes widening, then narrowing in befuddlement, she frowned curiously. Yeah, she could try and scare the molly away, but where was the fun in that?

She was already having significant romantic feelings towards one of her close friends, he-who-should-not-be-named, but he was an important cat in the Clan. She... how you say... wasn´t really. She was getting there, being Dawnstars alleged daughter and already having an apprentice even though she had been made a warrior a little more than a moon ago. Only once she was within good standing with the Clan would she ever attempt to take things further.

Why she was thinking like this, she didn´t know. How strange she was, taking one friendly, not-so subtle flirty cat and her mind was up and running with conspiracy theories and long mental debates over romance. Gah. She smiled sweetly, flicking her tail. ¨Well, Honeyspring. What a pleasure it is to see you.¨ She eyed the lizard that the other cat had brought as an offering. Mm. Food. Now that the gift had been given, Brackenfire already liked this cat a lot. ¨I´m absolutely fabulous, my friend. How are you?¨

~ IVYPAW ~

Ivypaw wasn't always the biggest fan of kits, but she did at least appreciate the fact that this one was willing to learn. She wasn't scared of fighting or blubbering about dying, like some other cats that she had met before. Like Ashhiss. Ivypaw frowned as she remembered that blubbering queen. How pathetic. Needlekit was young and seemed to want to learn, and kits could be annoying sometimes, but once again, Ivypaw had been a kit herself not too long ago. She watched Needlekit as the she-kit crouched down and jumped. She didn't go very far, but she landed neatly. When I first practiced it, I was pretty wobbly. Ivypaw frowned. She didn't like cats outperforming her. But I was better at other things. I was young, too. I'm still better than Needlekit. She's getting it, but she has some way to go.

Ivypaw nodded. "Better. You still have to learn how to jump farther, but that should come with time." It might be petty not to teach her extra because she didn't want Needlekit to outperform her, but she'd learned enough for now. The Clan matters more, and she's eager to learn. You might as well. Needlekit was still unsteady, but Ivypaw had only been two moons when she had first learned the move, too. She sighed inwardly. Why not. "Next time, before you leap, put more weight into your haunches. It'll bring you farther. And then we can stop there." Ivypaw considered teaching her the front paw swipe, but she decided against it. She was still young and had a lot to learn, so maybe she shouldn't go beyond that.

Honeyspring | @poppy. | existing around Brackenfire
The molly sat, wrapping her fluffy tail around her paws. Her almond-shaped eyes scanned the clearing for a while before she returned her gaze to Brackenfire. Amazing, Bracken! I feel just amazing. I'm glad you're feeling well. she purred once more. This time, she did not wink. She just smiled a lot, showing her teeth. I'd heard you favored lizards, and when I saw this one I thought of you. she said in a sweet, innocent voice. Her teeth flashed again, a wide smile playing across her maw.

As she waited for Brackenfire's answer, she looked at the other cat's fur. She barely kept any of the cats she flirted with in her life, but maybe she'd let Bracken stick around. She noticed the way that the little sunlight that was showing through the clouds glinted off her fur. She was slightly impressed by the other cat's sleek pelt. Her own fur was more on the fluffy side, her long hair sticking out in some places. Her yellow eyes glinted as her claws flexed into the ground and then retracted as she tensed her muscles and untensed herself.

@Shade.

"Nice job today Sharppaw. You did alright." Weepingshade mewed as she padded into the ShadowClan camp. "Take a break or something, I don't care." She huffed and padded away.

Sharppaw was glad to have done a good job. She wasn't really upset at her mentor's harsh nature and was very glad to have proven herself a little. Now she padded away. She was likely going to rest and eat and then hopefully do some training by herself. No place in ShadowClan for the weak!

@Mauve

Sharppaw was tired from her day of training. She had exhausted a lot of energy and needed to take a breath to relax. She also hadn't eaten all day do that was a thing. Food was necessary for keeping up the energy.

The lithe car picked out a piece of prey, a small dove, and took a rather hidden by shadows position in the clearing. She plucked the feathers off thoughtfully. Weepingshade had said she'd done a good job, but was it good enough? She was upset that Silverstripe's failure to train her had reflected on her poorly. She was only a rather new apprentice but she wondered if she could do better. She had do much to strive for, with a dad and uncle like hers.

"Really!" He chuckles. As far as he can tell he wasn't really breaking the rules, though he mentally made a note to only teach her hunting until she becomes an apprentice. He doesn't exactly want any... accidents. Now, we just need a prey substitute, practicing with dead prey isn't exactly... Well.

He notices a bunch of moss around and gathered that it was the residue of a dead moss ball. So he quickly patches one up with a good ol' roll around before placing it down in front of Laurelkit. "Well, let's pretend this is a mouse." With a little touch he added a little bit of grass blade coming out of the back acting like a little mouse tail. "Convincing?"

~Laurelkit~
Her little eyes shimmered and gleamed with joy. Laurelkit was attempting to act like she was older, which to her meant keeping herself from bouncing all around this warrior and squealing about how happy she was that Robincall had agreed to show her something. Instead of doing that, Laurelkit attempted to wait patiently for the warrior to finish setting up. Peeking this way and that as she paid attention to what he was creating with the moss, her little brows raising in interest as Laurelkit trailed just behind Robincall. When he mentioned pretending it was a mouse, her eyes suddenly lit up with understanding and Laurelkit gave a few quick nods, but the touch of the grass tail and roused a little giggle from her.

- Littlesky -

@x ghostie

The patchy-furred feline sat near the warriors' den, nose raised to the light breeze, eyes half-closed in contentment. It was okay. They were okay. Taking a deep breath, they slowly closed their eyes completely. They had been passively working on letting down their guard, working on ignoring the pangs of hunger plaguing their tender belly. And... it wasn't getting any better. The resentment of their body, their voice, every action they take- it was all so strong. But if they could ignore it... maybe it wouldn't hurt so bad.

This false sense of calm dissipated as soon as Wolfwhisper appeared, practically careening into Littlesky's side before almost, almost falling over. Their fur - what was left of it, at least - bushed out in surprise, and they gave a little squeak of fear, instinctively flinching as their brother's eyes raised to meet theirs. What did he wan- oh.

A gift.

Littlesky blinked slowly, regarding the shiny thing which lay between the siblings. It caught the light in such a mesmerizing way, they just had to prod it a few times to watch faint sparkles dance across its surface. It was... kind of beautiful, in a strange way. Ducking their head to sniff it, their tail raised in awe. The scent was nothing like they'd ever smelled before - like blood and dirt, radiating with mortal energy. Light blue eyes raised toward their sibling's face. "Wh- where did you fi-ind this...?" they whispered, voice hoarse and cracking. "What- what is it...?"
