Re: RiverClan Training Island
She coughed as sand was kicked into her face, and before she knew it she felt claws cling to her shoulders. She shook her apprentice around, and started to roll over to counter. (Snowpaw could get squished, or remember what Creekleap said and jump off) @Mumble

"Good, just keep it memorized, always remember! Stick your tail out for balance, so then you can attack better while your holding on." She mewed, getting off of her apprentices leg, and licking it. "You up for another go? Try to tap my ear, to resemble tearing it." @Mumble

Snowpaw got up for what felt like the tenth time, "Ok, I will!" she mewed, stretching out her slightly sore leg. "I'm ready!" she mewed, mostly to herself. She started zig zagging over to creekleap again, and leaped onto her shoulders. She stuck her tail out and wrapped one of her forepaws around her mentors neck so that she could use her other paw to tap Creekleap's ear. She sheathed her claws on her free paw and lightly tapped Creekleaps left ear. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
Creekleap whipped around, yanking Snowpaws tail gently to throw her off balance, and bucked her off. "Good! You're learning! Always remember to not expose your weak spots." She mewed. "One more time?" @Mumble

She purred softly, and got ready for Snowpaws attack. She watched her apprentices stance carefully. @Mumble

At the pace they were traveling, the distance to the training island passed quickly and they soon arrived. Grizzlybug wasted no time heading straight to the center of the clearing on the island and turned to face Eveningpaw. He chose not to speak and rather to immediately throw himself at her as soon as she entered the clearing. He flashed a paw through the air, aiming for her head, and slid past her to try to rake his other paws down her flank. |

Grizzlybug easily dodged the nose swipe, and lunged again. He aimed this time to swipe her paws from under her, turning to throw his back legs at her front legs just in case she deflected the first swipe so that he had a second chance to unbalance her. |

As Greenpaw fell into the sand, he laughed. "Much better!" He started to pad a bit away from Greenpaw and towards camp, "Come on, lets go back to camp. I think we've done enough training for the day." |

Eveningpaw’s blow landed while Grizzlybug was sliding away, but he kept going. The fluffy tom ignored the residual feeling of paws slamming on his back and made another move for Eveningpaw, charging straight at her and not turning away in order to make the apprentice move out of the way. Once she did, his plan was to skid to the side and slam into her. |

When Eveningpaw ducked rather than moving out of the way, Grizzlybug was forced to leap over her to avoid tripping over her and sprawling into the dust. The maneuver ruined his plan but allowed him to hold out a paw as he leapt, intending to rake his paw down her back- a maneuver that would hurt far more in a real claws-out border. |

(grizz has his claws sheathed since it’s still training ^^) Grizzlybug felt paws land on his back and his legs nearly buckled but he managed to stay upright. The fluffy tom began to buck in an effort to unbalance Eveningpaw and force her off of his back. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
She jumped around, attempting to buck her apprentice off. She peered over to see her apprentice gripping her shoulders, and reached to yank her tail to throw her off and tap her chest, to resemble raking it. @Mumble

Snowpaw sqealed quietly when she felt herself hit the ground. She pounted when she felt Creekleap tap her chest, so she reached out her paw to tap it on her mentors chest in 'revenge' |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
Creekleap pinned Snowpaw with her paws, but her claws weren't unshealthed. "You're good!" She mewed. "Plus, you just learned the tail yank as well!" She said, happy she was able to sneak another move into the session. [B]"Let's head back, good job today."[/B She got off her apprentice, and licked her apprentices stiff leg. @Mumble (move to the app den- mention me in clearing when you want to do the next session)

Re: RiverClan Training Island
[ @Ombre Party @Shadeleaf @Leopardblaze I apologize for being this late, I had a lot on my plate! ] Peachpaw listened to Ivyshine's words while stretching her skinny hind legs out behind her. She lifted them one at a time, stretching them as far as she could and flexing her untrained claws before switching to the other leg. This was easy, so easy. No way she was already starting to feel tired, she was just a little bored of this move that she so obviously had already mastered. "Sure thing, Ivyshine." She finished her stretching, resuming her previous stance and shoving herself back up again. She was beginning to get more used to this high sightline, though it still disoriented her. She moved her tail with her spine, keeping herself from wobbling. The time she remained stood lasted just a few more heartbeats, ending with a few steps where she tried to stay up. "Look, I'm already so good!" She was back on her paws in a way smoother fashion than previously, returning to stretching her legs. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
[ @Shadeleaf @Leopardblaze @Socks - it's okay :P ] Ivyshine watched her apprentice with a careful eye. Lotuspaw had done well too, but Ivyshine wanted to focus on her apprentice's form and how well she listened. The dappled molly waited until Peachpaw was down on all fours again to smile warmly and nod approvingly. "Good job Peachpaw!" Ivyshine chirped. Her apprentice was getting steadier on her paws and learning quickly. "Keep up learning quickly and you'll be done with training in no time!" Ivyshine purred. She turned to look at Leopardblaze questioningly. "Do you think it's time to head back? They've worked pretty hard and they've done well for their first session." Ivyshine meowed as she blinked warmly at both apprentices before turning back to Leopardblaze. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
"That was better Lotuspaw," she purred smiling at her apprentice. Leopardblaze flicked her ear and turned to Ivyshine as she heard her question. She smiled and nodded, "Yes, I think we should head back. They have done quite well and I'm sure they're both eager to get something to eat." She flicked her tail and smiled as her belly grumbled, "I know I am." She was very proud of her apprentice, both of them had done very well.

Snowpaw nodded, paying close attention to her mentor with her ears perked. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
"Training signals is a skill first used and invented by Shadowclan, but the system of the signals is now used by all the clans.\
Generally, the leader of the patrol, whether hunting or border, is responsible for giving the signals. Apprentices must learn many tail signals, and to keep the leaders tail at sight at all times and react at once when an order is given." She mewed, looking solemnly at her apprentice. "Now, tail held erect means to stop." She mewed, her tail sticking straight up in the air for her apprentice to copy. (you want me to do all the signals in one post, or one by one?) @Mumble |
Re: RiverClan Training Island

(ummm... I think it would be better for you to do it one by one) Snowpaw copied Creekleap, sticking her tail straight up. "what's next?" she mewed. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
"Next, whenever you ripple your tail, it means to move forward slowly with care." She mewed, her tail rippling like like a wave. "And whenever you hold your tail erect and sweep your tail slowly from side to side, it means to retreat silently." She mewed, doing the two signals for her apprentice to memorize. @Mumble (Im going to do it about 2 in each post, since there are several)

Re: RiverClan Training Island
"Now, whenever you have your tail pointing low, parallel to the ground and sweeping, it means to spread out." She mewed, doing the signal for her apprentice to observe. "Whenever your tail is flattened, it means to get down. And whenever your tail is bobbing it means you've sighted an ememy." @Mumble

Re: RiverClan Training Island
"Hooking your tail means there's danger. When you point your tail sharply, it means to go whatever direction the tail is pointing. When you hold your tail erect and wave it side to side, like how twolegs greet each other, it means to stay behind whoevers doing the signal." She mewed. "Just a few more. Kinking your tail over your back means to follow you or whoevers doing the signal. Flicking your tail over your back means to carefully leave. And, when your tail tip faces the other way or when you kink your tail, it means to attack!" She raised her voice and lurched forward at the 'attack' to suprise her apprentice. @Mumble
