Leopardsong purred quietly at the kit's reply. "Yup, you're right he did it again. And the Clan returned, terribly upset when they found no fox to fight. Again he was warned to stop playing tricks, but the apprentice simply found it so very funny." Leopardsong yawned softly before she continued with the ending of the story.

"It was all fun and games until shortly after this a fox actually did sneak into camp. The apprentice cried out “Fox, Fox” still louder than before. But this time the clan, who had been fooled twice before, thought the apprentice was again lying, and nobody came to his aid. It wouldn't be until the end of the day when the clan returned that they found the reek of fox in their camp. Running to the nursery they discovered their kits sleeping in their nests but that apprentice was never seen again." Leopardsong finished, lowering her head to give Aspenkit's pelt a few quick licks.

"After that, no one ever sounded the alarm for Foxes until there really was one as they learned that liars aren't believed even when they speak the truth."

Aspenkit shook his head out of disbelief. "How could that be funny? He scared his friends!"

His ears went back as he was told about the fox sneaking into the camp. He nuzzled closer to Leopardsong's belly. "The fox stole him. . ." He whispered. "What about his mommy? She must've been so sad!" He put his ears back up and promised, "I will never lie to the Clan like that!"
Then he jumped up. "Does that mean the Clan won't believe me either?!" His fur started to stand up. "I lied to that meanie bully, Fellcone, about not sneaking out!" He started to panic, "I just didn't want to get into trouble!"

Deadkit kept moving on her bed, she wasn't tired, but she didn't feel like doing anything, she wasn't as noisy and active as any normal kit but she really enjoyed exploring and getting to know new places, like any kit.

Deadkit looked at the gray cat and the white cat. It was the first time she had interacted with another kit. What was she supposed to do and say?
