{that's quite alright, I need to worry about the length~} The black and white kit shook his head and layed it back down, gently onto his nest, he was in pain, nothing but pain, he could barely lift his head, his voice was raspy, nose was runny, he felt absolutely awful "I think I'm getting better....but at the moment, I feel absolutely awful." he wheezed, causing another coughing fit to begin, his chest tightened, and his through felt like it wasn't being clawed at, he needed to go see ebonypaw...badly, they didn't have parents, no one to look after them, no one to tell or force them to go see the medicine cat, it might already be too late for littlekit. He breathing became harsh, "I think it's time I went to go see Ebonypaw...I hope she's not too busy." he gasped, his tail tip flicked, but instead of getting up and padding off to ebony, he layed himself back down and listened to his sister's breathing, he was awful, making Nettlekit worry over him like that, he was going to pull through the cold, he couldn't leave his sister, then he truely would go to the Darkforest. |

Needlekit looked at him sadly, "Littlekit... You don't seem like you're getting better." Worry was thick in her comment as she nuzzled her brother but cringed back as he began to cough, "M-maybe Ebonypaw can come to us.." The little grey kitten wished she could cry out to someone, anyone but they didn't have parents to care for them. "I-I just know y-you'll get b-be-better.." Her voice was shaky and not the least bit convincing and she bit back a choked sob. Needlekit wanted her brother to get better but found herself slipping away from that hopefulness. |
Re: SkyClan Nursery
[@Random Melody -- don't worry about it! it's totally cool. on the other hand, tho, sorry about this rather late reply.] [i decided to go with the nursery, as brightpaw was hoping to pop in there; so i just assumed that would be the obvious decision!] With a rustle of a bush, Acornflash made his way through the clearing. On his journey to the Nursery, he explained his reasoning for going there. "I don't normally have any reason to go into the Nursery—well, I-I mean, I'm not all that into she-cats—so it'd be pretty fun to get the chance to come in here! I'm sure you would want to greet your mother. Well, if she's still in the den, of course—" He cut himself off once his poked his nose through the entrance of the Nursery, making sure that he wasn't intruding on any naps. Glancing back at his apprentice, if she had caught up with his brisk pace, he continued in a lower voice. "And I think the elders' nests are looking good, so the next thing would be to go to the Nursery!" Acornflash scanned the inside of the den, spotting a couple empty nests. "We could replace those; I'm sure any new queens would appreciate it." he murmured, setting down his bundle of moss next to one of the nests. As quiet as a mouse, of course. He had a soft spot for kits and would try his hardest not to disturb any of them. That would be an absolute disaster for him. Ugh, he groaned inwardly, not even wanting to think about how guilty he would feel and the reprimands he would receive from a queen for interrupting a kit's nap. Hesitating for a few seconds to let Brightpaw process his sentences that seemed too fast for anyone to understand, he crouched down and began to remove some of the moss off of the nest, setting the used moss into a pile far from his clean moss. |
Re: SkyClan Nursery
[ouch, double posting. @MootheBean -- seeing as eveningkit is pretty young, I didn't want to stick them in the clearing ^^] [she may be a bit out of character right now, as she has not developed her own personality. she does not identify as bigender yet!] Tottering on legs too lanky for her body, Eveningkit made her way from her shared nest halfway to the entrance of the Nursery before flopping down on her haunches, staring out into the clearing with wonder. Snowflakes had just begun to fall outside! Evening was content with just gazing out at the delightful scene, but it was becoming a bit too cold for her to bear. As freezing wind blowing into the den and chilling her to the bone, she squeaked in surprise. Spinning around, Eveningkit trotted back towards her family and nestled herself as tightly as she could in the center of the nest, fur rippling along her spine. "Brr," she murmured, poking her head out over the side of the nest to watch the entrance once more, her curiosity getting the best of her. Supposing that Sunsetsong was also in the nest, she glanced up at her mother and asked, "What was that stuff?" Her fur was very thin, so the cold affected her much more than it would probably affect an adult unless they happened to be short-furred. Due to genetics, however, she would very likely have long fur in the near future. But for now, she was too young, and she could only hope that the snow wouldn't get worse. |

"It's called snow." Sunset curled her long tail around her kit, trying to warm her up. "It usually comes around during leaf-bare." She smiled softly and adjusted herself in the nest, making room for her three kits, two of which were sleeping. The orange cat fixed her pale green eyes on her kits and grinned, curling closer to them to keep them warm. Sunset looked up at her one kit that was awake, watching her experience the snow and the icy wind that occasionally blew into the nursery."Do you like snow, Eveningkit?" |

[i think there's also morningkit, isn't there? :0] Purring coursed through Eveningkit's tiny body as she leaned against her mother. "Yes! I love snow," she meowed, watching the snowflakes fall with rapt attention. Running a paw across her ear, she opened her jaws and sniffed, hoping to catch the scent of the snow to remember it for later. Unfortunately, almost a second later, she leaped up, dissatisfaction seeping from her. "It doesn't smell like anything!" she exclaimed, already having forgotten the cold of the wind. Hopping over one of her siblings, she stared out into the clearing, the fur along her neck raised. Eveningkit turned back to her mother, hoping she had some answers. "Why doesn't it smell like anything?" She padded over to the entrance with her ears folded back, reaching out with a paw to touch the soft-looking substance. Evening hesitated for just a moment before dunking her paw in the snow; and, of course, yanking it out almost immediately with a hiss. "It's cold!" she whined, the idea of being quiet completely flying over her head. "I don't like snow anymore," she muttered. |

"Well, of course it's cold, do you think some burning substance would appear during leaf bare?" The creamy orange molly smiled a little, enjoying how inquisitive her kit was. "It doesn't smell like anything because it's very cold water." A snowflake blew in and Sunset caught it on her tongue enjoying the sensation of the cold speck melting on her tongue. She remembered when she first experienced snow- It went much like Evening's first reaction. |

"Oh. Well... not really," Eveningkit admitted, amazed at how smart her mother seemed to be. She knew everything! "Oh, okay!" purred the tiny kitten, her mind switching over to the topic of water. "Water doesn't smell like anything either," she observed, feeling very intelligent because of her amazing connection between how both snow and water don't smell like anything. "We should wake up Morning, Day, and Night and go play in the snow!" she grinned, then suddenly gasped. "I got to see snow before them!" Another bout of purring erupted; this time, she had finally gotten to do something before all her littermates took it over. Happiness radiating from her, she bounced over to Sunsetsong and nuzzled her face into her chest. However, the excitement jerked to a halt when another thought entered her mind. "Where's Robinshout? Is he doing... uh... warrior things?" Eveningkit wasn't entirely sure what Robin did when he wasn't spending time with Sunset and the kits, but she knew it had to be something relating to being a warrior. She gazed up at her mother's face and promptly spun around and bounded over to the entrance of the den; but of course, all good things must come to an end. Her legs buckled from underneath her, and she tripped, falling face first into the shallow layer of snow that had gathered just outside. Paws splayed out, she attempted to bring them back towards her and pick herself up. She shakily raised her head out of the snow, and, turning around to look at her mother, shook her head and flung snow everywhere. Eveningkit trembled for a moment, suppressing the wail building inside her, and trudged back over to her family. [i wanted to make evening just flat-out sob bc shes a tiny emotional kitten but like i don't want to make her wake up other cats haha] |

Sunset purred as Evening decided to get to the snow first, remembering the way she would want to get things first as a kitten. The molly winced as Evening faceplanted in the snow, instinctively covering her other kits with her tail as the cold substance flew everywhere. Noticing how Eveningkit suppressed a pitiful wail, Sunsetsong stood and quickly curled her tail around her daughter. "There there, the shock caught you off guard. Are you glad you got to snow first?" Sunset licked Evening's head and guided her to her littermates. "Want to rest? Or you could go meet other kits." |

[short post alert] Eveningkit butted her head against her mother, leaning into her warmth. "Yes, I'm happy about that," she mewed, "but I don't like snow anymore," whined the kitten. She followed her mother back towards the nest, a twinge of surprise in her mind when she realized that her littermates still hadn't woken up yet. They can sleep through anything, she thought, a bit jealous at her inability to sleep through the night without waking up at least once. "I wanna rest," she murmured, her speech slurred as she lowered her voice. Evening hopped into the nest, just barely avoiding one of the stray tails from a sibling, sitting down and squeezing herself between two of her littermates. Purring at the warmth, she waited for her mother to sit down before curling up into a tight ball. [should we wrap up the roleplay :0?] |
