Darkpaw ignored his tone and the mistake in her name. "Yep! So glad you remembered!" She giggled and gave him another smile. She'd crack him eventually. Her dark pelt glistened as she shook it out, feeling uncomfortable all of the sudden. She wasn't sure why. She couldn't shake the feeling of.. being watched. She glanced around and her eyes fell upon.. another dark cat. Their features blotted out by the dark, their blindingly white eyes and grin. Her eyes widened for a moment, fear filling her sky blue eyes. The apprentice fought back a shudder, the whispers turning to screams. Her heart raced. She plastered on a smile but she couldn't hide the fear in her eyes. She let out a nervous laugh, trying to seem nonchalant about it. But she couldn't escape the feeling of being watched. She couldn't escape her fear. She was fine. Yes. She was fine.

Burningspark watched her give him one of her many grins impassively. It seems that she just can’t give up. He sighed. However, he found her next movements surprising. The gaze filled with fear, her uncharacteristic nervous laugh. His golden gaze turned behind him, trying to find who Darkpaw was scared of, but it seemed whoever - or whatever - it was had disappeared. Burningspark was on guard in a moment. “What are you so afraid of?” He asked shortly. The dark tom flicked his scarred tail, wondering what had set the peppy apprentice off.

Darkpaw flinched. He'd noticed. "U-Uhm, nothing! I wasn't scared of anything." She laughed, though it wasn't genuine. She couldn't tell anyone. They always threatened her, so she couldn't tell. "Why don't we go hunt or something?" The apprentice was changing the subject, she hid the fear in her eyes by throwing on another grin. Her heart ached, she didn't want to hide this anymore. But she had to. Or they'd hurt Blackie.. she didn't want them to hurt him. Never. The voices cackled in her head, seemingly in victory. Their laughter drowned out everything she could hear, so she continued to hide her fear and pain. It would end soon, just like they promised.

[once again, incredibly sorry for the big delay on this rp]

Oh goodness, was he going to go on a tirade with how easy life was? When he knew nothing about her? Oh spare her. Doetuft who'd sat down flickered her ears in annoyance of his attitude that he was putting forth. No one was like her, but similarly, no one was like him. Each of them had their own baggage of bad things within themselves and it was up for them to carry and lift it on their own. Comparing trauma was like comparing mice to larks, as it simply depended on the strength of the individual. What might be easy for one could be like climbing a pine for another; impossible tasks that could not and could never be compared. "Sorry... to ruin your... fantasy... old man... but your bet... it seemed... was wrongly placed." Most definitely wrongly placed, and placed on the wrong cat. "I had... to fight.. for everything... here. Nothing... in my life... was ever a given. Have... you tried to have your... own mother... purposely kill you? Have...you? I assume not. I do not... ask for pity... but what... I do ask for... is respect. Everyone has... gone through things... and you... may not know it... but the least you could do... is have a bit of respect... for everyone and their... suffering." She'd not meant to get angry but as she'd spoken she'd stood up and fluffed out her furs, ears lying against her neck as she presented her speech with harsh angry words.

The blind apprentice Witherpaw, was walking around, sniffing the air for someone she knew. (OPEN)

Poppyshine emerged from the nursery, having finally managed to shake Heartkit from her fur. She sighed. Fresh air. The young queen padded towards the center of the clearing and sat down to begin grooming her fur. As she cleaned herself, she spotted a she-cat nearby. She recognized her as Dogsnarl, a warrior. She hadn't really spoken to her before and wasn't super keen to. She blinked and resumed her grooming.

A yawn parted Dogsnarl’s scarred maw but she bit it in half like a juicy rat. Fatigue was weakness and Dogsnarl wasn’t weak. The large somali looked up as the feeling of eyes on her pierced her pelt and her green gaze met the eyes of Poppyshine. The warrior barely knew of this clan mate but she was in an irritable mood and didn’t like that this queen had been staring at her. Grumpily, she barked over at the other feline.

“Is there a reason you feel the need to stare?”

Poppyshine looked up in surprise as Dogsnarl addressed her and registered the other molly's words. "Excuse me?" she asked hotly. She could do whatever she liked with her eyes! "You aren't exactly being very polite yourself," she harrumphed, tortie pelt fluffing up in indignance. She had just been observing, no need to snap like that.

Freezehiss was walking back into camp, with a rabbit in his mouth. He laid it down on the pile. HA! Mine's the best catch! He snorted and purred with delight, even though it wasn't. It wasn't even close to the best catch. I'm the best, Besides Dawnstar. Freezehiss thought with delight.

Then... WHAM. Freezehiss hit someone.
"HEY! Watch where you're going MOUS-BRAINED HALF HEARTED IDIOT!"

The molly hissed "Watch were I'M going? You were the one who wasn't looking!" she spat at the warrior, "Now, I was on my way to the fresh-kill pile, when you walked into me!"

Burningspark watched her carefully, ears flicking as he listened to her laugh and watched her body language. Sure as hell wasn’t nothing. He thought with a curious frown. He wasn’t concerned, just surprised and curious. “If it wasn’t nothing, why are you trying to hide it? And don’t tell me it was nothing because we both know it is something.” However, if she refused his offer, he wouldnt give her another. Burningspark had long since refrained himself from chasing cats. If they weren’t going to give him what he wanted, he would find another way to get it.
(Sorry for the shortness. )

She'd not meant to get angry but as she'd spoken she'd stood up and fluffed out her furs, ears lying against her neck as she presented her speech with harsh angry words.

He was surprised by Doetufts sudden fierceness. He hadn’t expected the blind she-cat to really be a fierce one, even if he hadn’t really expected her to be a pushover either. And old man? “I’m hardly older than you.” He huffed. “And while I may not have had my mother try to kill me, at least you got to know her. When my home went up in flames, I got burned beyond recognition. It didn’t matter if even got burned or not, because not a single member of my kin gave a cat’s meal about me.” His tone was bitter and full of anger that he tried to push down. Inadvertently, he had just let this she-cat know more about his past than any other cat that wasn’t kin. “But if it is only respect you require, I can grant you that at least.” His tone calmed down and he sat, looking over the she-cat with a new perspective. Apparently some cats were worth getting to know, though Burningspark could hardly say that about most cats. “However, for the rest of the clan, that is yet for me to decide. Not many cats act like they’ve been through anything or have the self-worth to own up to their pasts.” He mewed, dark russet tail flicking as he glanced away from Doetuft around the clearing.
