Streampelt pricked his ears. Had this cat just basically said that they were Riverclan? Streampelt was still wary but he sheathed his claws completly and lay his fur flat. "I don't recognize you, sorry. So, your from Riverclan? I assume you left the clan since I haven't seen you before. What's your purpose being back here?" Streampelt meowed. He suspected that that the cat wanted to come back but he would let the cat say it themselves.

Amberflight

"Leave?"

Her tone gained a chirp of.. amusement? It was something close at least. She merely shook her head, finally focusing her attention, although only partially on the tom. "Now that wouldn't make sense would it? Why would I leave?"

She rose to her paws, stretching stiffly as her jaw parted into a yawn, sharp canine's gleaming in the moonlight, "No, I've simply been exploring is all, is that no longer allowed?" She trotted lightly past the tom in the direction of camp, pausing to turn back to him in patience, "Well, c'mon now, might as well head back while we're... whatever this little diddy of a conversation is."

[I will not lie I wholeheartedly forgot about this-]

Streampelt thought about that. Was it considered leaving if you went out and explored further? He snapped out of his thoughts as the she-cat started padding back to camp. "Wait! Riverclan isn't the same as you've known it so brace yourself for anything surprising." Streampelt mewed, taking the lead.

[ @~Fierceclaw~ ]

She raised a brow at this statement, curiosity piquing the she-cat's interest. "Is it not?" She purred, falling in step behind the warrior as he took the lead. While she wasn't much of a follower, perse, she would admit that her memory of the path directly back to the camp was.. hazy at the least. After all, it had been almost, what, three moons? Who knew, time was more of a concept to the feline, something used merely to calculate experience in life. Well, the experience was something to be earned in more ways than one. "Do tell if you don't mind?"

[Either you can have him explain it all to her or we can just say it happened and move straight to camp, up to you!]

Streampelt sighed and prepared himself to tell the short but important story. "Well, I assume you know Sootstar. If not, I can tell you about him. Anyway, he had recently gotten a deputy, her name was Stormcall. Everything was fine in the clan when one day, Lionstorm called a clan meeting. He said that Sootstar and Stormcall had gone missing. So did our former medicine cat. We looked through the territory but didn't find them. The former medicine cat apprentice Snakepaw, now Snakeheart, is now the new medicine cat and our only high rank. Lionstorm is taking care of the clan at the moment. Also, coyotes were scented in Smallpines. A patrol went to go check it out. I was on that patrol and we fought the coyotes there. One of the cats on our patrol got severly injured. When we came back, we found out that a coyote had attacked the nursery. There were some losses." Streampelt mewed, the last sentence coming out sadly. "Well, we're close to camp now." Streampelt mewed, keeping quiet and hurrying his step.

She dug her claws into the ground to root herself in place.
Only an apprentice...? She was nearly his age, barely any younger, just not yet a warrior.
She wanted to scream at him, scream about how Eelpaw had been the last part of any happy memories she'd had growing up after her own mother, the cat who preached just about daily that cats were bound to leave her and hurt her, her siblings, just about every mentor she'd been assigned to, and then her best friend, her only friend her whole life, all of them up and vanished.
She had to remind herself this wasn't a misery match. That wasn't the point of this conversation. She'd been trying to help him.
And yet....

"Fine, go wallow in your misery. I'll complete the patrol without you and I'll be damn sure to tell Kestrelwing."
She turned in place and stomped away, not wanting to look at his stupid face anymore. She couldn't force sense into this mouse brain and she wasn't going to try.

She leapt onto of a fallen log, trying to put distance between herself and the offending warrior, when the wood where one of her hind paws had landed shattered, and her body slid backwards, her leg getting caught at an awkward angle.
She squawked indignantly and tried to yank her leg free, only succeeding in smacking the bending part of her leg painfully.
"MY LEG IS STUCK, BLIZZARDKY!"
The feeling of being trapped caused panic to well within her and the desperately dug her claws into the leg wood to try to pry herself free, only succeeding in one of the splintered pieces jabbing harshly into the muscle, and she paused, suddenly aware that a wrong move could lead to a worse situation.
"BLIZZARDSKY!"
@Zesty Mango

Blizzardsky had immediately zoned out and was staring off into the distance not moving, not even aware that Palepaw had left to finish the patrol, when he was snapped out of his trance at Palepaw’s cries for help. He shook his head and forced himself to pad over to Palepaw and glance at her leg,” Hmm...looks stuck.” he meowed. Thinking for a minute, he flicked his tail,” I could try to smash the wood around your leg until your free, but one of us does need to complete the patrol...Lionstorm wouldn’t be happy if I came back without prey...and he wouldn’t be happy if I left you here...hmm and if I’m late for stopping to free you he wouldn’t be happy...what to do what to do” he muttered starting to zone out again muttering nonsense under his breath

Re: Sleepy Thicket

Palepaw wants nothing more than to shove the dumb oaf off the log. It was simple, all he had to do was remove the piece of splinter that was threatening to pierce her leg. He didn't need to break anything!
And she couldn't quite twist in a way that let her look at the piece to try and remove it herself and she didn't have a tail to try and flick it out of the way.
Nope, she was stuck until Blizzardsky got his head out of his ass.
"Pretty sure they'd appreciate you showing up late with prey and the apprentice they assigned you to look after as opposed to being on time without either. It's not that hard. Just move the wood splinter gouging my leg."
Her ears folded and her nubby little tail lashed. She wanted out of here and she wanted out fast. The longer he waited the more he risked getting bowled over by her just to get her frustrations out.

At Palepaw’s scolding, Blizzardsky snapped out of his worrying and carefully removed the splinter from the log before turning and sprinting off whispering,” hunt fast then fetch Palepaw then return to camp then pretend I’m fine and brag about how well I did...pretend I’m fine.” he muttered to himself loudly pouncing at a squirrel jumping no where near the squirrel before angrily stomping towards the next prey scaring it as well.

Re: Sleepy Thicket

Palepaw picked herself up, leg moving carefully to not catch on yet another stupid piece of wood. Once her leg was clear from the possibility of extra poking, she sat herself down and looked at it, wincing when she saw the faintest amount of blood on her paws, likely from splintera as the log had broken.
Given that the pain wasn't too unbearable, she stood up and padded after Blizzarsky.
"Thanks," she murmured.
Even if he had been tempted to leave her.
She watched him for a bit, and since he wasn't catching anything.... she'd likely have to split off from him.
"It would be quicker if we both hunted, don't you think?"
Yes, she was an apprentice, but that didn't mean she was useless. She knew damn well how to hunt. It was the only thing Sootfailure had taught her and Eelpaw. She didn't know why Blizzardsky felt she didn't know anything, that somehow being an apprentice meant she had to be protected and coddled.
Her nostrils flared a bit, but she bit back any harsh words about the subject and turned away, intent on catching her own prey to help out, pointedly ignoring his muttering.

She only managed to catch a mouse in her time away and she padded back a little disappointed with herself. She made a little indent in the ground like she'd been shown to and dropped her prey in, carefully scraping the dirt over it and looking around for Blizzardsky, and any hint of him calling for an ending for the patrol.

Re: Sleepy Thicket

"They are survived by their siblings, Squintkit, Runningkit and Darkkit. So to are the kits in the next site." Padding away to the newest area the tom scuffed his paws the little grave obviously a lot more fresh then the others with newly turned dirt over the top. Still besides that the grave was a pretty thing under a flowering bush.
"This is the resting place of Fallowkit, Frostkit and Phantom. Their mother Deerwing went into labour early in the territory and of them only their sibling Ghostkit survived. So as is obvious kittings are often a mess and even I cant really save them all... Those are all Ive buried. If you wish to know the stories of other cats here ask around, most cats have at least one kin buried here if theyre buried at all." He shrugged "A lot of cats just disappear and we never learn what happened to them. A sad reality of life, I dont dwell though." As medicine cat he couldnt. There were no herbs to treat death and always the next patient to try and save.

@Zesty Mango

Blizzardsky was not surprisingly standing right where Palepaw had left him, he was just standing there, a blank expression on his face as he stood there his mouth hanging open as he heard the noise of Palepaw and in a panic of realizing he caught nothing he quickly skewered a random worm and spun around holding the worm in his jaw, as his pathetic prey.
