Night blinked, flinching gently as she suddenly snapped. What had he done? Night just looked confused as she bristled and then turned all lovey dovey. "I..... I don't know how to feel. About Jack and Nightshade... Jack has a right to love her, there even expecting kits. But...." Night sighed, shifitng his paws. "I just feel like Jack's being pulled from me..... like to far from me..... we always promised it was me and him against everybody... but now that its changing... it feels wrong and right... and I don't know what to do." Night admitted, his mew a bit sheepish. The Tom surprising himself with his tone, he felt comfortable with his mate and was ok with being himself, a shy and curious Tom, a complete duality compared to his usual cold and annoyed self.

Kate nodded, then giggled. Why didn't you tell me how you felt before? She mewed, her eyes crinkling. I've always wanted kits y'know! She teased, rubbing against his warm fur. And you can always talk to Nightshade. I'm sure she'd understand if you wanted to be really close to Jack. She gave him a tiny headbutt. Besides, I don't know anyone else who wants to be near Jack all the time! What's gotten into Nightshade? Kate joked.

"Me to....." he murmured. "I can't talk to her, it'll get weird." he murmured. Accepting the headbutt by gently lowering his head for her to reach. He shuffled his paws at the joke, give a tiny snort of amusement

Jack raced back from the woods, barely acknowledging his brother. He threw himself into his den, clumps of moss dangling from his jaws. When he saw that Nightshade was sleeping, his quietly put together a nest. He looked down at Nightshade, and ever so gently climbed into his nest with her. He wrapped his tail around her, closing his eyes. @Splitmoon

Nightshade was dreaming happily about kits and Jack. She couldn't wait to see there kits.

As the early morning light shone through the trees, Jack rustled awake.

Kate yawned, and nudged Night up. They had slept by the river, and her pelt was showered in droplets that stuck her fur to her skin. She shivered, and began to head back to camp.

Nightshade nudged him, trying to wake him up. Her ears twitched back and forth as she heard Kate's voice of concern. "My love. Wake up."

Night didn't budge. His fur felt hot and his tounge was lolling out the side of his mouth, his nose and pads pink.

(common signs of cat dehydration hehe)
