I turn as someone else joins the group. Good, no fuss there. I acknowledge her with a nod. "Right, we all stick together, no going off solo. Kiki and Ray, try to keep Ciara in the center. Let's go!" I lead the way out of the clearing, and take my first steps into the woods. It is even darker in here than out there, and the gorse tugs at my cloak. I stomp a path through, feeling the many eyes of my enemies watching us, not yet striking but waiting until we are in fully. This is all certainly a step up from last night's zombies. "Be prepared," I warn the others.

My reaction is too slow, and it costs me the life of Aislin. Already the spiders are dragging away the dead body. There is nothing I, nor anyone else can do to help her. In my minds eye, I see her sleeping body take in one last breath, then move no more. "Teddie," I call to the masked girl. "Come back, there is nothing you can do there."
