"Not you, though, right? You're staying, right?" she asked, her voice rising in pitch. She didn't want her mother to leave, not again. She curled up closer to her, misty tears brimming in her eyes, but she ducked her head before her mother could see. She had to hide them for Lioncry's sake, not her own. For all Smokeykit new, she was her true mother. She was blind and so could not tell the pelts apart, and she was so naive of the perspective by sight part of the world. She didn't want to know about it. She wanted to stay blind, as she saw it to be a way to get along with anyone and everyone. She wiped her tears away and looked back up. "Please tell me you are staying! I don't want you to go! What about me, what of you get hurt?!" she went on, and the tears began to brim again but this time she didn't look away. "What if something bad happens to you, and you get hurt and... and..." she sniffled, and burried her head in her mother's stomach. "...killed? Like.... like dad?" she asked softly, her voice cracking with her cries. |

Lioncry sighed, and felt tears slip from her eyes, soaking into her cheek fur. She rubbed her head against Smokeykit and shook her head, before remembering that Smokeykit couldn't see her. “Smokeykit, I will stay with you, and I never won't be. I'm always going to be there for you, okay?” she whispered, her voice shaking. She withdrew her head from Smokeykit's fur to take a long, deep breath, calming her nerves. Both she and her kit were laying in the nursery, crying, which probably looked pretty odd to any other queens and kits. Lioncry could hardly remember being a kit, it seemed so unreal. This wasn't where she'd grown up, and she wasn't the same cat she'd been born as, that was for sure. Lioncry knew that Smokeykit was taking the news badly, but she knew one thing was that it was better to tell the truth than to lie. She tried her best to comfort her kit, but she couldn't do very well. “Smokeykit, I can't promise you anything.” she said, pausing for only a heartbeat. “When I go into battle, it'll be for you, and I'll fight like all of LionClan if I must.” she curled around the slight form of Smokeykit, her eyes closed. “I will try, dear. And I'll always be with you, no matter what. Even if I never come home to SkyClan, I'll be going home to StarClan. And Smokeykit, StarClan isn't so far away, you know. All you have to do is think my name before you fall asleep, and I will be there. But, I'm going try and stay with you, understand?” she said, her voice suddenly becoming more serious on the last sentence. |

[my replies might be shorter than my usual, as i have trouble roleplaying kits/young cats :0] The Cliffheart lookalike ruffled his fur, staring up at the warrior with a piercing gaze. Sagekit wasn’t sure how he felt about this newcomer, one who looked eerily similar to his brother; although he still hadn’t made the connection between his very own appearance and the other tom’s. “What’s a star?” the kitten asked, whiskers twitching in confusion. “Star” was certainly an odd word; he didn’t think that he had heard it before, and if he had, he didn’t remember it. “I guess. She’s kinda protective, though; not that I mind, really. I don’t want to go outside of the nursery anyway.” Sagekit brought a paw up to his face, grooming it and only hesitating when he heard Cliffheart’s stern tone. He didn’t do anything that would make him angry, right? ...or did he? He was never entirely sure. Sagekit didn’t keep track of what he said that might’ve bothered someone, but he could’ve sworn that he hadn’t done something bad. Continuing once more in grooming his paw, he only half-listened to the warrior’s next sentence, uttering a “Why?” once he had finished. Sagekit had completely forgotten to introduce himself to Cliffheart, but he didn’t really think it mattered. “That’s kinda weird that you wanted to see if we're awake, like… us, not any other litter.” He still hadn’t made the connection. The long-furred kitten could be extremely oblivious, given the opportunity. It was always best to be straightforward with him. |

[no problem, and highly relateable] Cliffheart smiled down at his fluffy son, whose fur resembled Beachkit. "Oh sorry, Star is what I call your mother, and you and your sibling are the Little Stars. Sorry about the confusion little one. But a Star is what you see at night when the sun goes down. The lights come up and they shine brightly in the sky, speck long the navy nights with picks of white, they're very beautiful. Maybe when you do decide to come outside, I can show them to you." He explained. Then at Sagekits next words he felt himself blush with embarrassment. There it went again. His kits didn't know who he was. That was only himself to blame for. If he had spent more time with them...things could have been so much easier. He loved them, they shouldn't get him wrong in that, but he was afraid he would be a horrible father, having no basis to set his fatherly aspects on. He was completely in the dark here. He didn't want to screw up their kithood, but at least he was trying. "Oh...pardon me. I'm your father. Scorchedpetal, your mother is my mate. Your my son. I just... I've been busy...I guess." He mumbled the last bit. Oh great now he was lying to Sagekit. Of course he hadn't been busy! He was just too scared to come in here! Hopefully the kits would forgive him. |

Straightening his back, Sagekit looked even more disdainful (if that was possible). Sniffing at Cliffheart's explanation of those "stars", he let the thought roam inside his head before admitting, "That's cool. I guess." No matter what he felt, he always wanted to seem standoffish—it was just something instinctive in him. Still, he had his moments where he broke past his aloof exterior and admitted something, usually followed by a "whatever" or "I guess" to make his words seem less genuine. He wasn't sure why he did it. Maybe he would grow out of it soon enough. Moments passed after Cliffheart had finished talking in which Sagekit sat, processing what the older tom had said. "You're my father," he meowed, more of a statement than a question. He paused, staring at Cliffheart with confusion in his eyes. It clicked. Sagekit spun around, staring at Beachkit's sleeping form that had been behind him. He squinted at his littermate's pelt and turned back to Cliffheart, noting the similarities. Finally he stared down at his own chest, realizing that his color combinations were nearly the exact same as Cliffheart's. "Oh," was all he said. Seconds ticked by, the silence growing as he examined what his fur looked like in relation to the older tom's. "That makes sense. How old are you?" questioned the kit, tilting his head back up to meet the eyes of his father. Sagekit didn't know what his own eyes looked like. Were Cliffheart's similar to his own? He wasn't quite sure, and he could feel the initial interest of his own eye color dissipating. Sure, the question Sagekit had asked Cliffheart was rather odd, but he was curious. |

@CandyFlossCat
@The Skeleton Prince Lightkit and Bluekit laid in their nest, not speaking to one another, sin e they don't really like each other. Bluekit stood up and shook her blue pelt with a long yawn. Lightkit pushed her over and fell back asleep. |
