Then the first voice said something strange. "Jump.. cats paws..." Did the voice mean to jump at a cat's paws? His shell shocked and tired brain was a little slow to realize what the voice meant. Then it hit him. He needed to jump at a cat who could grab him. But what use would it be to jump if he couldn't see where he was jumping? but then he remembered the second voice that was also yelling at him. He should probably jump at that voice. So gathering what little strength Spinekit had left, he positioned himself facing the second voice and jumped. {DUN DUN DUHHHH! will Smokeblossom catch the poor bab? Find out in the next issue of Cats can't swim!} |

~~~~ Dungpaw barely even acknowledged that Gingerpaw froze up. He was more interested in getting mud out of his paws with a stick rather than his tounge. Elmpaw knew Gingerpaw had froze up, but he didn't want to embarrass her so he didn't mention it he chuckled at Dungpaw,"Ya know, Dungpaw most cats use there tongue rather than a stick." Dungpaw paused,"Well the mud tastes nasty, I know I'm usually in the ' most cats ' group, but not on this when it tastes bad." Elmpaw burst into loud raucous laughter. Dungpaw glanced at him giving him the look. Elmpaw said," Not you, it was the squirrels playing tag." Dungpaw shrugged it off not even caring to notice that there were no squirrels around. |
Needlescar smiled softly, her head dipping in a tiny nod as she turned to look at his face. "Yeah, I mean it's not like we're in StarClan." She purred quietly, nuzzling into his fur. Their conversation was tired and lacking, but it was the best she could do. Needlescar's gaze swept up to the rain, which had caused this flooding and death. She cast a tiny, weak smile in attempts to lighten the mood. Her heart was thudding in her chest as she blushed, noticing how close together they were. She wanted to be closer, but she'd just met him this morning. She couldn't let herself screw this up. Needlescar wouldn't screw this up.. hopefully. The thought of doing something wrong made her nervous. She followed his gaze with hers, ears pricked as she gazed at the forest. The leaves were dripping with rain, soothing her as she let her thoughts wander off. She shivered slightly and turned away from it, trying to find something to distract herself. Needlescar felt awkward so close to him, but he was so warm. Her fur was slowly becoming fluffy and warm again, the water still weighing it down and coating it with cold rain. She gazed up at Pinewhisker, a smile on her maw. He was the only cat who could make her laugh, or smile, whenever he was around. Needlescar gazed at the dirty water flooding their camp, sighing. She'd been able to sleep yet how she was unsure of. It was so loud, threatening now that she was awake. Her tail lashed as she forced herself not to freeze, taking a deep breath. She purred softly, her head leaned onto Pinewhisker as she stretched her limbs, stiff after sleeping. He seemed worried, so she gave him a little reassuring nuzzle. Unsure if it was the wrong move, she sat up and glanced at the water, the tips of her ears feeling hot. She giggled as he glanced down at her, eyes shining with warmth and energy. Something she usually lacked. His words made her blush harder, thankfully hidden by her fur, and she chuckled. "Hello, handsome." She teased, her tail curling around her paws as he realized what he had said, making a full laugh bubble out. It was cute, how he seemed to embarrassed by his slip of words. She stood, leaning against him. "T-To help you balance because of your.. leg!" She explained, shuffling her paws slightly and gazing around. She wanted a safe way out of this place, they were already injured enough for her liking. She turned her gaze to where his was, ears pricking with excitement. "That seems like the best path to follow, better than being lost alone." She mewed, nodding. Swallowing her doubt and nervousness away, Needlescar began to walk with him towards the path, hoping they were correct. She smiled softly at his nervousness, following before she shortly was by his side. It felt more.. nice than awkwardly trailing behind him. He seemed shyer, and Needlescar's ear-tips again grew hot. 'Why do I feel like this?' She thought, nodding. "R-Right!" |
Wolfpaw woke up to the sound of water crashing on rock. He felt a shiver go down his spine. Oh, right...the rain...the Flood! Shadowclan! WE GOTTA GET OUT OF HERE! The grey Tom was so startled that he leaped up, forgetting about the low rocky roof above him. He smacked the top of his head on the stone then fell back to the ground, blinded by the pain. "AHHHHHH! Ow ow ow ouuuuucchh! Ooooowwwww!" then a tiny dark figure stirred next to him. Nightkit. "Ahahahaaaa!" he shook Nightkit with a wet paw. "Hey, Nightkit..." he whispered "wake up...it's the next day. You've gotta get up, come on." he urged. |
