Dodging the legs extended, Shrewstep took a step back, deciding to allow Stempaw to get to her feet. Everything was getting a bit insane at the moment, and he needed a bit of a moment to compose himself. Taking a deep breath, he sent a paw flying towards her chest. It wasn't a powerful blow, but if he struck it might give a few scratches at least.

Stempaw quickly got herself up then was kicked in the chest and took a few steps back feeling the scratch before she attempted to launch herself up onto his back, over the head, extending her hind legs in attempt to rake them across the top of his head.

His claws dripping a few, small drops of red blood onto the sand, Shrewstep faced Stempaw. Her lunge was unexpected, and all he could do was drop to the ground, flattening himself to the sand. He didn't drop quite quickly enough, and while her paws didn't make contact with his eyes or other easily injured parts, they did draw a nasty red line across the top of his head, and took a small nick from his ear. Jumping to his feet after she passed, Shrewstep whirled quickly to face Stempaw. Dipping his left shoulder and moving swiftly to the side, he was rushing forward an instant later, heading for her underbelly. If there was a place to deal damage, that was it. He wouldn't be clawing and biting with full force if he did get under there, but it would be a small show of control. If he got under there.

Stempaw, knew this was risky, but believed she could win the fight with this move, even though she’d get hurt, she waited pretending to let him charge right up and at the last second reared up so her belly was easily exposed as she attempted to come down hard, not to claw, more attempting to squash him under her body weight.

He let out a silent breath of relief as Halfblood turned away from the edge of the cliff. It was still there, still a danger, but a reduced one at this point. There was less of a risk he'd tumble over to his death.

He eyed Halfblood carefully as the tom invited him to make the first move. Claws sheathed or unsheathed? Where should he start? The legs were sensitive, but so was the face. Maybe he could work with both?

With hiss of concentration, he lunged forward and reared up, eyes flashing. One paw (claws kept away for now) swung for Halfblood's face, aiming to strike him across the eyes or maybe whack his nose, and the other came for the warriors' legs, to perhaps unbalance him and give Whisperpaw the upper hand.

╰┈➤ Halfblood

The little fleabag was better at this than he had suspected for a deformed runaway. He would have to sacrifice one; the face of the legs?

Halfblood let the first hit bump him not he nose in favour of dodging the leg swipe. He jumped backwards for a moment but within a flash of black fur, he'd jumped off of a nearby dead tree trunk and aimed to land directly on Whisperpaws back.

Shrewstep hadn't expected Stempaw to expose her belly, that was generally the LAST thing you wanted to do in a fight. Staying on all four paws, he sent one of his paws flying towards her belly, as if to rip her open. To end the fight right then and there. And then he jerked back, stopping his paw before it could cut deep into his clanmates flesh. His knees buckled and he smashed to the ground, paws folded beneath him, as Stempaw collapsed onto him, and after a few, meek struggles he went limp beneath the apprentice. Had he really been able to do it, the blow that was almost a killing blow? He hadn't realized.......was he really that vicious, that violent? He wouldn't have done that moons ago, would he? Surely not?

After holding for a few seconds, Stempaw released Shrewstep,” Was that okay?” she asked, unsure if he just got bored and let her win, or if she’d actually done well.

Scrambling to his feet and shaking out his pelt, the sand flying a bit more than he might have liked, Shrewstep turned quickly to Stempaw. Her question was a reasonable one, sometimes warriors got bored. But that wasn't why she had won. That was ok. he mewed flatly, not sure how much to praise her. It wasn't as though he had been instantly defeated, and it wasn't as though he had crushed her either. We were pretty well matched. When he thought about it, she was just about his age. Her spell of time away from the clan was the only reason she wasn't a warrior yet if he had to guess. @Zesty Mango

@Rxmulus (Snailpaw)

Wildfire had always wanted an Apprentice of her own.

She was still a young Warrior, but it was hard for her not to think of how exciting it'd be to be responsible for another cat's Warrior training! Heck...her mentor hadn't been the greatest, considering he acted like her dad all the time and wanted to shield her from all the fun stuff!

Since she didn't have one, she made her way to the Training Cliffs with the hope of finding an Apprentice to work with. She'd gone out there on her own all the time to train with friends when she was younger!

Snailpaw was practically frozen with anixety. She was lingering by the cliffs, glancing over the edge.... simply watching the ground. How far was it away? Could she find out? Maybe if it all goes to pot--

The SQUWAR of a Crow made the apprentice startle. Blue eyes wide, the chubby little little stumbled back from the edge of the cliff. A few stones crumbled under her three remaining paws; for a brief moment, she saw her entire pathetic life flash before her eyes-- from the last time she saw her mother, to the gaping jaws of the elder who stole her dignity, and then the glimmer of Dawnstars orbs.

Wait! She wasn't dead. Instead, she was cowering at the paws of the warrior. Snailpaw felt a heat flush her plump fluffy cheeks before she stumbled to stand, clearing her throat.

"C-can... we pretend you didn't just watch me flail like a fish from the cliff edge," she whispered, meow breaking between words as she tried to keep it high-pitched.
