Cody crouched tiredly at the corner of the den, determined to stay awake and watch this cat.

Cody's eyelids were heavy, and he was on the verge of falling asleep. But no, he must watch Thyme... make sure she didn't hurt him...

* She awoke when a grumble racked her stomach. She stood up slowly and noticed Cody. The small kit hadn't gotten any sleep. She padded out of the den and came back with some prey. She laid back down and began eating. She finished and laid her head back down. She was hoping Cody would trust her again. *

Cody yawned groggily but stayed awake. He watched Thyme come back with prey and watched her eat it. Suddenly he remembered... today was his birthday... he was 3 moons old now...

Cody nodded, his eyelids were only half open. His tail drummed the floor softly as he blinked tiredly.

Cody thought for a moment. Well... this cat had fed him... slept with him... warmed him... and kept his mother away... the small hazel tom nodded and slowly took a few steps forward.
