“And what would you prefer instead? For me to coddle you? To tell you the world is filled like love and happiness and that skills like fighting are useless? You are lucky enough to receive me as a mentor as I am one of the few cats who can teach you more than just becoming an adequate warrior. Your presence, whether in both battle and in clan life with put you apart. So weird to you is powerful to me. To me you are obnoxiously. Annoying. Arrogant. Perhaps one day I will view you as proud, able, and someone to be respected. But regardless of my thoughts I believe you feel differently about yourself.” Watching Buzzardpaw redo do the jump with good form made Adderflower almost purr with satisfaction. “Yes much better! Now you have a chance of inflicting some damage.” She had to admit, she was somewhat proud,she didn’t expect Buzzardpaw to be any good at today’s training. Her eyes flickered up to the sky, the day had almost fully passed by. They had been training ever since the ceremony and even Adderflower was feeling a bit hungry. She decided that she would have to start finishing this lesson. “Now what you just did, redo it but on your landing add an additional swipe at the feet. Like so.” Adderflower crouched for a second and then sprang upwards, her long claws slashing at the air. As she landed on her hind legs she allowed herself to compact her squat and she shot out a paw low, cutting an imaginary cats legs. She could almost taste the scent of blood. She turned to Buzzardpaw. “After you show me you can do this we will stop for today.” |

The presentation was acceptable. She had enough of the little she cat anyways. Without another word she turned and headed out of the training arena, bristling as she held back wanting to claw the young apprentice. Buzzardpaw clearly didn't respect her, and that angered Adderflower. Even more than the idea that she didn't scare the she cat as much as she would have liked. "I must be a fine mentor if I managed to teach you. But, if that's the way you feel then perhaps we should stop the training. Indefinitely. We could resume when you learn some manners. I could tell all the other warriors that you are on suspension until I say so. So don't think that you would get any training in without me." She turned back and fixed Buzzardpaw with a stare. "Would you prefer that," she asked in a mocking tone. Without waiting for her response she stalked forward. |

Re: ShadowClan Training Cliffs
@Nostalgia Without any proper prior training, there were really only a limited amount of moves most apprentices would attempt to make. As soon as Finchpaw started to leap forwards, Finchwhisker caught onto what he was attempting. Going straight for the legs was a typical first move, even for many experienced warriors. And though Finchpaw did a decent job, he managed to avoid the attack with a swift backwards leap. His expectations were high, yes, but of course he didn’t expect an apprentice with no past training to fight perfectly and land a majority of attacks, so the missed first attack didn’t worry him much. Besides, even though he wasn’t going to be fighting back during this spar, he wasn’t going to make it easy for the apprentice to freely attack him. This was an assessment of skills, and that had to include the factor that an opponent would be moving and dodging as well. Circling around to Finchpaw’s other side, the dark tabby kept his eyes locked on the younger tom. “Decent job so far, keep it coming.” His intention wasn’t to keep this spar on for too long. Just a few more attacks from Finchpaw should be enough for him to get a general idea of the apprentice’s basic proficiency. |

@Puddle~
Finchpaw felt his legs thump onto the ground as Finchwhisker whisked himself away. He had missed. Irritation flooded his pelt as he whipped his head around to watch Finchwhisker circle him. Finchwhisker was bigger and faster then him; his best bet of landing a blow on him would have to be done as a form of surprise. He narrowed his eyes in thought as he crouched down again, his ears pulled back. If legs wouldn’t work then he would go for his back. Thinking back to the move he saw Rookpaw do the other day he shot forward. Zipping towards the deputy he made a sharp right and then unexpectedly rolled back, aiming his legs to develop a high blow to Finchwhisker’s side. |
