(( That's wonderful)) Goldeneye had been trying to lead cats towards Riverclan, and once he had succeeded with that, he had fallen back in the crowd again, looking for any injured cats that may have fallen behind. The rain did not keep him comfortable, and he knew that was kind of a sacrifice. He didn't like rain, that was clear enough, and more and more reasons came along that helped his argument that rain was horrible. One, it matted and clumped fur, and that meant that he had to clean it, which he really despised doing. Two, it washed away camps and made entire clans evacuate to an enemy clan. That was wonderful, absolutely wonder. Even if the flood wouldn't stop, could the rain at least do so? This felt like cold rain to him, the kind there was in storms, the kind that make you feel like you were getting cut by thorns. He maybe shouldn't be complaining about it aloud, and he wasn't, but he was going to complain in his mind, because who could hear his thoughts then? Sure, he had heard stories of cats that could read minds, but he didn't believe that they were in Shadowclan at the least. He jolted himself out of his thoughts, he needed to focus, not complain like a kit. And as he did exactly that, he heard a familiar voice calling out his name. "Tempest?" The deputy called out in response, starting to quickly move towards the other Tom. He couldn't shake the fear that several cats he was close to might not be safe. There was Bella, and then there was Tempest. Neither one of these cats really took as much priority for the clan as a whole, but they were still important. Even with Tempest as his enemy, Golden didn't know how he would live with that Tom being gone, and Bella, well, she was his mate, that was enough to say already. Golden's golden and green eyes were now looking for the tom who had saved his life, hoping he wasn't injured too horribly. |

Gingerpaw snorted and rolled her eyes. She stood up. Then, casually placed one paw over the border. Then another. Then another. Finally her last paw was over. Gingerpaw glanced over her shoulder at the two toms. "You coming?" she asked. The molly took a few steps forward. Then, looked back over her shoulder again. "You coming?" she called again. Zenithwhisker looked at Clovercarnation. "Maybe you should ask Goldeneye what we're doing or where we're going.", she responded. |

@blue jellie Strawberrythorn pricked her ears, and a faint mewl reached them. She immediately knew that it was Palekit. Her mother's instincts were kicking in tremendously, and she bounded towards the sound, Crimsonblaze on her heels. The ginger feline spotted her kit wailing, the water getting close to drowning her. Strawberrythorn leaped, slipping in the water, but she managed to keep her balance and grab onto Palekit's scruff. "Momma's got you, don't worry." She mumbled around the she-kits wet and matted fur. Strawberrythorn knew she had to get to Riverclan as fast as she could. Her kit needed to survive. But she hadn't seen Flykit. Something in her gut told her though that her other kit was safe, probably with Honeythistle. Now she just needed to find her eldest daughter. "Crimsonblaze, keep a lookout for Ferretfrost as we head towards Riverclan!" She turned to her son, mumbling around Palekit's scruff. Then she started to bound as fast as she could through the water, straining her neck high to keep Palekit from getting even more wet. Crimsonblaze nodded, relief flooding through him when his mother had found Palekit. He was worried about Flykit, but Strawberrythorn didn't seem worried, so he supposed that she was probably safe. The two cats started to climb the rise, getting closer and closer to Riverclan's territory. All the while, Crimsonblaze kept his eyes peeled for his sister. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Quote:
Morningfrost dug her claws into the branch as Nightvenom leaped into it next to her, making the branch sway in the water. "You're going to make this branch break you big lug." She growled, glaring at the tom. But relief flooded through her at the sight of him, and she was glad he was okay. He annoyed her to death, yes, but Morningfrost knew she couldn't live without him. And she also knew that needed to get out of there. The water was getting worse, and she had seen all the cats head towards Riverclan territory, up the rise, and to higher ground. There weren't many still in the water, only a few stragglers that looked like they were handling themselves. Morningfrost started searching for the best way to get to the rise, her sharp blue eyes scanning every inch of the surrounding area. "Well, if we go that way, there could be a dip there. But that way.... Yeah it looks the safest." Shd mumbled to herself as she figured out the best way for them to get out. She flicked her tail to Nightvenom, narrowing her eyes through the pelting rain. "Follow me. And at least try to be a little serious?" Morningfrost knew asking wouldn't really help, even if his life was in danger the poofball would find someway to make it a joke. That's what annoyed Morningfrost to the core. The golden-furred feline leaped down from the branch, landing in the water, the splash from her landing showering her surroundings. Then Morningfrost started to walk, and occasionally swim, towards the Riverclan border. Her thick pelt was marred and weighing her down, but the she-cat continued on, not caring one bit. ~~~~~~~~~~ Quote:
After continuing on for some time, her legs sore from swimming and holding onto things in the water, Ambercrackle finally spotted her family. Relief flooded through her body as she saw that they were all there. Her father, mother, and get two younger brothers. The queen let go of the branch she was holding onto, starting to swim once again. Seeing he family gave her new energy, an adrenaline rush through her system. She also knew she had to live. She couldn't let the innocent lives inside of her die. "Mother! Father!" She called out, getting closer to them. She felt the land beneath her paws, and started to crawl up towards them, her pelt soaked, and exhausted, both her belly and fur weighing her down. Ambercrackle continued to limb up to them, but her going was slow, and you could tell she was exhausted from fighting the water on her own. |

Ferretfrost bounded out of the nursery, her eyes wide. No cats remained inside, which was the good thing. The bad thing was that it was completely destroyed. She looked around and saw no other cats- not her mother, father, brothers.. no one. I guess I'm on my own. Ferret trotted out of camp swiftly, her shorter fur not slowing her down as much as it would have if she'd had her mother's fur. Maybe the molly would catch up to them. Most likely not. The she-cat tripped over unseen branches and saplings that stood in her path, but recovered quickly. I'll die out here if I break stride! She trudged through the shoulder-high, freezing water, gasping every time that she reached a spot that was even colder. The wind wasn't helping. The parts of her fur that were wet but not covered with water for the time being seemed like icicles. She shook out her medium-length fur; this wasn't the greenleaf weather she'd been hoping for. In a matter of time she neared the border of RiverClan and ShadowClan. It was even windier here, with only reeds to block the sharp wind gusts, but boy, was it shallower. |

(I just lost all of my reply after I finished it and had to start all overDX) Cloudstrike was calming down steadily, the talking helping to soothe he nerves. She acknowledged some of the tom's words, nodding as he asked if he looked like a natural grump. She couldn't see him very well, but his voice sure sounded grumpy. The rain had washed the mud away from her eyes and she could see clearly, but the tom was spiky and covered in mud, making him pretty hard to recognize. His angry words about how his spiky fur was not funny only made her laugh harder and even the half insult didn't faze her. Mainly because she didn't realize he was trying to insult her. The she-cat was finally calmed down by the time she finished wondering aloud for his family, and returned to her usual quiet self. Still, her gentle voice rang out, "You're right. I shouldn't assume things about your family, but I wasn't trying to be mean. I'm sorry." Cloudstrike apologized not because she feared the tom, or suddenly realized who he was. No, she apologized because she was a kind cat who didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. A smile graced her muzzle at his comment about her tail and she stopped as he turned, following so she could listen about his family. Mates? She wondered internally for a moment before the thought was whisked away again. Cloudstrike didn't say anything aloud, for she didn't really care. Cloudstrike was possibly one of the least judgemental cats in all of the forest. If a cat had enough love to share four ways, then good for them. The tom yelled a name, surprising Cloudstike, who was lost in thought. Stormrose, I wonder who that is. The molly thought, beginning to form an image of this grumpy tom's relations. Suddenly, he ran off and she bounded after him, keeping pace rather well despite the difference in leg length and her dripping coat, as his coat was long as well and must've been as heavy as hers. The stopped in front of a she-cat whom the tom had said was his daughter and he began talking to her. Cloudstrike remained quiet until he asked about two other cats whose names sounded familiar and Cloudstrike naively assumed he was talking to her. A memory shone briefly in the back of her mind about the only polygamous cat in Shadowclan, but then it was snatched up by the whirlwind of her other thoughts and lost to her. She'd never met Rosenose or Strawberrythorn and had no idea what they looked like. "I haven't seen any cat," she meowed over the storm, leaving out the fact that she didn't know what they looked like, "but if you're so worried about them, why escort your daughter to safety? She looks like a sturdy warrior and I'm sure she could get herself to safety once shown the way." With these words Cloudstrike once again showed how oblivious she was to the tom's identity and beliefs. |
