This was… relatively interesting to see. Springpaw found herself staring down at the long moss sheet that the apprentice had been seemingly bringing back alongside Skunkstrike carrying a bundle of golden blooms in jer jaws. To be quite honest, Springpaw wasn’t expecting the young tom-cat to bring a whole moss sheet with him, knowing full well that it would bring plenty of uses for the clan itself. Nonetheless, even with her brief shock and surprise at his findings, she still felt pleased to know that they brought back the required necessities for the clan. With a flick of her tail, the calico raised her head and beamed happily at the both of them. “You… both are… dismissed… please go ahead… and put the… items… that you… collected… inside of the… medicine den… and then… you are… free to go.”

Hahahahahaha. Funny Springpaw, thinking Mudhound was going to take the 'smart choice'. No, after peeling themself off of Vivivi from where they were bodily slumping against her and dropping the herbs the tripod would not go rest in the medicine cats den. They would not get the healing for the rapidly recovering injuries they were ignoring. Nope, there'd be an hour or so nap then the tripod would be running a funeral for the dead.

Consequences could come later.

She was late. She was late and she knew it. Hurrying back into camp after having marked the border, Redhawk made her way straight to Spiderthroat. Her pelt burned with shame but she still forced herself to meet the deputy's likely disappointed gaze (she didn't take the time to really look).

"T-The border with WindClan has been marked," she reported. "Nothing out of the ordinary, everything is sss-secure." Her tail flopped over to the other side as she finally dropped her gaze to her paws. "...I know I'm l-late though, so whatever needs to b-be done - hunting, herb gathering, a-anything..." Red surprised herself with not crying, but that didn't mean her voice didn't waver here and there.

Springpaw’s eyes glanced down towards the herbs that Eaglesprit brought, her brows furrowing as she glanced back up towards the feline, giving a curt nod. “Thank you… for bringing… these herbs back... but you... better not... make the... same mistake... twice... or there... will be... consequences... you are dismissed.” She waved her tail in dismissal as she scooped up the herbs and shuffled her way back to the medicine cat den.

[Drizzlecloud has called for herb patrols, and if you’ve been mentioned, you’ve been placed on one of them! If you do not wish to be put on a patrol, please vm me and request to be replaced within three days of the patrols being organized. (If you want to be replaced, let me know by March 14th)

These patrols will be due by March 21st at 11:59 PM EST. If you need an extension, please let me know before then, however, you may ask for an extension up to three days after the due date (March 24th). If this is done, you may still be subject to very minor punishment (such as a scolding, as well as Drizzlecloud’s disappointment!).

Lack of communication whatsoever will result in a moderate punishment. Communication after the due date will result in a minor punishment. Communicating that you are not able to finish the patrol on time/asking for an extension will result in no punishments.

When it comes to replies, bumping someone after 48 hours with no response is acceptable, but after 72 hours you may skip their turn.

Patrol leaders, please remember to add your patrols to the patrol menu! If you do not know how, let me know, and I can add it for you.]

From the mouth of her den, she poked her head outside before sitting down. The sun still caused her head to pound–but it was slowly becoming more tolerable and less of a nuisance as each day passed. “Thunderclan, please gather for herb patrols.”

Patrol One: Marigold and Cobwebs

“First patrol will be headed to Cattail Pond. Skunkstrike [ @Tiabirb ], you’ll be leading this patrol. I’d like for you to take Spottedfire [ @willooowfeather ] and Treepaw [ @SuspiciousMindz ] along with you.” Drizzlecloud gave a nod to each cat as she saw them among her clanmates before she moved on.

“I’m looking for cobwebs and marigold flowers. Marigold flowers are usually yellow or orange, they’re very bright petalled herbs, and their stems are a similarly bright green. They have a very strong taste, so I would suggest that you give one of the petals a little nip just to ensure that you have the right flower on paw. You’ll probably be able to find some marigold near the water itself.”

Patrol Two: Borage and Cobwebs

“The next patrol will be sent to Willow’s Rise… Ah, Violetfreckle [ @vellichor ], I’d like for you to lead this one, please. Twistedsnake [ @Demeter ] and Daylightpaw [ @Ladiebugg ] will be joining you, too.” With a whisk of her tail, she took a moment to pause, wondering which herb she would send them out searching for.

“You should be able to find some borage where you’re headed. Borage petals are a blue-purple colour, and the flowers themselves look almost star shaped! Quite pretty, if you ask me… They have very soft green leaves, so look out for that, too. Take a nip at one of those leaves, they should be pretty bitter.”

Patrol Three: Yarrow and Sturdy Sticks

“The last patrol will be coming with me to… Smallpines. We won’t be going too close to the border, though, so let’s not get too anxious. Strawberrymumble [ @Fawn<3 ] and Leafpaw [ @Eden ], I’d like for you two to come with me, if you don’t mind.”

“I want to look for yarrow… And some sturdy sticks, as well. Yarrow is essentially a cluster of many, small white flowers. They have jagged green leaves that smell pretty tangy–and they taste bitter, so you can taste them if you wish, but I’m here so we should be able to decipher them from other herbs pretty easily. We’ll be headed out once you two are prepared!”

Leafpaw came strolling over, no enthusiasm in her steps which was hard to muster since she wasn't feeling up for anything. She found it kind of hard to be that way when she couldn't find any clue as to where her sister went. The dark feline took a spot in front of Drizzlecloud and silently waited for the third member of their patrol.

Oriental ears perked as she heard her name called by the now deaf medicine cat, to her dismay it was not her pretty calico apprentice but nonetheless she was quite happy to learn some more and to help out in anyway she could - anyway, even if she was not directly communicating with Springpaw she was still able to help her and in the end it was nice to not have the pressure of forcing her songbird voice through the tangle of roots lodged in a wad in her throat out through her muzzle - Drizzlecloud would not hear a word she said and Leafpaw seemed quite content slinking silently and grumpy about something. Quick as a flitting bird, Strawberrymumble’s apricot oriental shaped form trotted from her sunny thawed patch to where her patrolmates stood waiting, creamy paws flinching momentarily at the bite of the remaining crystalline ice droplets that hung frostily on plants and covered the ground like a chilly blanket - reaching the two mollies she gave the eldest one a respectful nod before she flicked her powder blue hues to the apprentice and offered her a soft smile, creamy muzzle flipped it corners up lightly and softly, a barley there movement. Fluffy cream tipped apricot coloured tail flicked as if to say I’m ready, she would follow Drizzlecloud’s paw steps wherever she carried them whenever she saw fit for them to leave, she probably wanted to watch the other patrols head out but who knew and the apricot molly sat lightly on the ground near Leafpaw and awaited a flick of a tail or a mumble of direction from the grey-blue medicine cat.

Not much of a talkative bunch that she had gathered up with her today. Not that she’d be able to hear them, anyway, but it was odd to see that they hadn’t even said anything to each other. Well, no worries there. Maybe they just needed some time to relax, and perhaps this patrol could serve as just that! A nice little outing. “Alright, off we go then–let’s all stay close to one another, okay?”
