Mudkit laid awake in his nest, eyeing the other kittens and the queens. He was bored, and it seemed like moons since one of the queens said everyone needed to be napping. Anyway, he was too hyper. If he could just make it to the entryway of the nursery. The brown spotted tom bounced up out of his nest and onto the den floor, landing on a small twig. It snapped, cracking loudly. He looked around, eyes wide.

Hopekit woke up. She felt about ready to open her eyes. She didn't know why, but she did. She licked one of her paws first, nervous. Hopekit opened her eyes. The whole world looked... different than what she had first imagined. So many different....things. What? Why are so many things different from each other? She thought dumbly. She looked around the nursery for her brother, not finding him.

Floatingbark exited the den, parting the reeds so Acaciakit could exit. "I'll take you there," she purred. "If that's okay with your mother of course."

"She won't mind, as long as I don't leave camp she lets me explore" she explained happily.
