Inja stepped up. "Sir, I volunteer for the contest thing, or whatever you said about that." The cat-dog was extremely sure he would win, besides, he had the Golden Tribe to back him up if he didn't. (lol is it okay if i add some lore)

Heron allowed a nervous smile to creep onto his face although his ears lowered even more as his “unfortunate” heritage was mentioned. Heron still clasped his paws tightly together. He offered another small nervous smile to Sophie who he assumed might be training with him at least sometimes seeing as there was no healer and he was to be trained by wizards. Wizards! Real life magic wielders! They were practically gods! They were amazing! And he Heron a patchetic panther cub was going to be trained by them! What an honor. “T-Thank you for th-this honor sir!“ Heron stammered.

In the distance, Eliza heard her father's call to gather. But instead of going there, the young princess opened one of the windows that looked out on the pavilion. She listened carefully, then gasped and looked at her sister "is that what papa told you? You're going to get married?!" Stupid tradition! Eliza didn't want Elizabeth to get married yet! "he better be nice" the kitten pouted. She'd ask if she could watch the choosing at least, but later, for now the meeting seemed to continue.
Watching further on, a curiosity sparked in her at the announcement of the new healer and apprentice. Intrigued, she leaned out of the window, lifting up her paws as she did.

"Hmph. Rude pants." Inja muttered at himself then walked away, intending to get to the contest before anybody else. He had to win, in order to show his ancestors the Golden Tribe will not be defeated. Long ago, the cats and the dogs fought over territory, occasionally killing each other. They later branched off into different groups, the cats being the more successful. Eventually dogs went into hiding and are believed to be extinct. If I reveal who I truly am... Inja thought to himself before racing to his forest and sleeping in his hole.

Eliza pouted again at her sisters confirmation. But that wouldn't stop her from what she'd do next: As the king finished announcing the new Healer and Apprentice, the kitten took in a deep breath and called "Yay Heron! Yay Sophie!" hopefully loud enough for them to hear from the window. Giggling, she waved a few seconds then turned back to her sister, feet going back on the ground.
"can I help you choose? Or at least watch? Pretty pleeeaaasseeee"
