The tomcat turned as the stranger approached him, and he unsheathed his claws in irritation. "I've been here for barely the tick of the sun and now it's swarming with little fleas," he grumbled. His gaze scrutinized the molly. Was she a flea? Too polite. Some large fowl, perhaps. Those large, feathered birds. All feathers, no fat. Though she scented like fish, and he despised fish… so an earthworm. Yes, the newcomer was a worm, he decided. Useless thing, but not too annoying. Just don't walk around in the rain—or do walk in the rain and squish their pathetic juicy bodies beneath his paws. They tasted alright. Better than fish, anyway, but not at all filling. "What's with them, huh? This place was alright before they all came. Last time I checked, places only swarm when something big's 'bout to happen, but I haven't heard a thing."

She didn't understand exactly what the fleas were, although she supposed they probably all had some, so maybe that was it. As the tom mentioned all of the cats coming, Blossom tilted her head a bit to the side. She hadn't thought about that, but there had to be SOME explanation. Maybe there was a bunch of twolegs somewhere else? Or the twolegs are going to drop a bunch of food here or something? She didn't know much about twolegs, although she had to admit they were generally scary and enough to make ANY cat want to move. I haven't heard anything either. she added at the end, just to even it out. Everyone was here, but why?

"I'm Mulberry," she replied. "Have you been here long?" @Christmassy Peril

She shook her head, "Only a day. You?" she asked. She jumped down and trotted to the edge of the lake, quickly catching a fish. She killed it quickly and offered it to share.

She blinked, impressed. "Thank you. I've never had fish. I'm not big on water." Not since her episode as a kit, where she had nearly drowned in a flood, only to be saved by Cricket. @Christmassy Peril

She shrugged, dropping the fish between them. "I love water." she said plainly. She wouldn't have said that if she had known about the other cat's incident though.

Mulberry crouched down, taking a small bite. It was a little musky, but had a surprisingly good sweet flavor to it. "It's kinda good," said, swallowing. @Christmassy Peril

She smiled, "Yeah, I eat them almost every day."

"Can you swim, too?" Mulberry realized that it was probably a stupid question. @Christmassy Peril

"Yes, why?" she asked. She bent down to take a bite of the fish.

Taffeta had noticed the slowly growing community of cats and decided to retreat to there for now, sheltered among strangers and hunkered for a long term stay.
She noticed a meek looking cat and approached, hoping to make at least one friend. Friends were important to have, important to your survival in the case you needed someone to fall back on. The more, the better.
The heavily scarred molly approached shyly.
"Hello. You seem lonely. Would you like to talk?"
