Re: Cattail Pond
As the small patrol neared Cattail Pond the apprentice ran ahead. Even though his paws were sore and his legs were tired from escorting Cloudedspark, the thought of finally having some rest gave him smeone energy. Pushing his way through the tall grass he scanned the groups of cats for his mentor, Silversky. Sotting the silver tabby, he ran over in excitement. "Silversky," He called as he slowed his paced and stood in front of her. "Was there any problems while we were gone? Is your throat more sore?" The questions came one after the other. "What are these?" He mew in curiousity as he padded to the edge of the pond and swatted his paw at one of the cattails. [ @implimm @BILL. @Skye ] |

@Beau @Zero @Dawneye @Slushie Pinepuff lead her daughter and apprentice to the Cattail pound, Gladekit still in her maw. The large warrior didn't like how this day was going. All of it was just crazy... And worst of all her poor kits had gotten hurt. No her poor loved ones. All of them... But she would have to leave Valleykit and Nightpaw here wouldn't she? While she took Gladekit to a medicine cat. It wasn't what she had hoped for not what she wanted to do. Yet, she couldn't just let Gladekit be in pain. Pinepuff just hated it but she couldn't let the young mollies around her be affected by that. "Alright dears, this is where you'll have to stay." Pinepuff meowed setting Gladekit down to speak clearly. She'd scan the unfamiliar place. There were a lot of cats she didn't know. Would it even be safe to leave them? "Honeybear, darling!" She called seeing the warrior. "Would you mind keeping an eye on Valleykit and Nightpaw?" She asked looking at the two young mollies beside her. "I don't want to leave them here alone and Gladekit needs to get to a medicine cat." Pinepuff added a slightly saddened look spread over her face as she looked down at her kit. |
Re: Cattail Pond
@BILL. @Wings @Shimm Stingpaw could barely contain his excitement as he was less through the winding paths til cattail. Hailfang hadn’t taken him there quite yet but who better to go with than Lionstar himself? He had much to tell his dad, you know as long as he got back alright. When they reached their location he wasn’t entirely stunned to see the many injured thunderclan cats. Burn marks, scars, and lots and lots of coughing. They looked like a bloody mess. ”geez” he wasn’t entirely surprised nor disturbed and more so excited to participate in helping. He turned to Lionstar as he assigned him to a job. Nursery. I could make a nursery. “Alright russetstrike, lets do this!” Being more enthusiastic than he should the small dilute torbie bounded off to find a decent spot. Finally discovering a small dead hedge with strong enough stems to support the bulk weight of a nest, he started working. |
Re: Cattail Pond
Nightpaw hesitantly wrapped her tail around Valleykit, licking her gently and shakily as she tried to calm herself down "We will be okay Pinepuff, just get Gladekit to the medicine cat den to be sure they are okay. I'll keep Valleykit with me" She felt exhaustion trying to just make her lay down and sleep, but she couldn't do that at a time like this. She knew she had to stay strong.

Re: Cattail Pond
Lionstar had heard part of the WindClanner's interaction but didn't really care himself, more concerned with collecting materials they'd need to construct the makeshift medicine cat den. If they wanted to go back and forth on den building, it wasn't his problem. He was sick of dealing with other Clan's drama.
When he was approached by some WindClan warrior, he quirked his brow at him through the mouthful of reeds he had. This one seemed bossy-- a trait Lionstar didn't normally mind, but it made him wonder what was going on with Twilightstar if her warriors were doing the work for her. At least, she made an attempt to show up-- Softbriar and Duskstar were still nowhere to be found. He was actually starting to hate both of them a little. A true rarity. "I wouldn't send too many.." Lionstar cautioned him to begin with. "If you crowd den construction, it'll make it harder to build. My cats are working on a medicine cat den and a nursery-- you can send a couple cats to start on a larger den to house the cats who don't need medical treatment. If you have more cats to spare after that.. den materials would be good: there's plenty of sticks and moss over there--" he flicked his tail toward Sleepy Thicket, "and you can use the reeds and cattails over here as well. I'll show your cats how to use the Cattails when we get to the nests." He was visibly confused when the WindClanner wandered off to harass some poor ThunderClanner trying to rest. "What are you doing?" he questioned both the WindClan cats. "You're here to help, not confront ThunderClan cats. Check her scent-- I know the smoke makes it hard to use your nose, but she smells like the rest of them." Re: Cattail Pond
[ @BILL. @gs29513 @~Fox~ - my apologies, the original post contained only the name “thunder” which led me to believe they were a loner and thus I had Rushingmoor interact as cats are supposed to do ]
Rushingmoor listened to Lionstar with a controlled expression. He offered a nod and was about to leave when he thought he caught the scent of a loner. Lionstar managed to detangle the mix of scents to realize the cat was a Thunderclanner and Rushingmoor nodded to them as an apology. “My apologies. I must have caught the scent of a loner on the breeze and mistook you for them under all of the smoke.” Without another word, Rushingmoor turned and flicked his tail for Skunkblaze to follow so they were no longer among the Riverclan cats. Lionstar didn’t want their assistance with the nursery and medicine den so he would set the other warriors to building other dens. When he was far enough away from Lionstar and the cat he’d mistaken for a loner, he turned to his fellow warrior and meowed, “Why don’t you start building a den for apprentices or warriors. The Riverclanners are building a nursery and medicine den for the young and minorly injured but don’t want to be crowded, which I can understand. You can start on a den and I’ll send others over when they come to me. If you get enough help I can set other cats to building a second den.” With a nod to his clan mate, Rushingmoor trotted off, rabbits in his mouth, to distribute to a few Thunderclan cats. “I have two rabbits to offer to any hungry cat.” |
Re: Cattail Pond
Nodding her head to the surprisingly un-grumpy Rushingmoor, Skunkblaze trotted off towards the area Lionstar had indicated to collect materials from. Grabbing mouthfuls of reeds, she hauled them towards a clear space beside the pond. After a few trips her jaws were sore, so she collected a few sticks, rolling them along the ground. Once she had a good pile, she returned to collecting reeds and rushes, or whatever they were called, long grass thingy's. Yeah, long grass. She wasn't sure where her help was, but who cared. She was independent! Suddenly, she remembered moss. She bounded back over to the thicket, and began slicing it off the tree roots. After a while, she balled it up, and carrying one in her mouth and one under her chin she began ferrying it back to the den site.

Re: Cattail Pond
Cherrybubble could feel the ache in her lungs growing worse, but she wasn't going to complain. She'd be perfectly fine. Her first line of action was seeing if anyone else needed help. She couldn't do much, she was no medicine cat of course, but she could see if anyone needed to talk or just needed comfort. Though she wasn't the best at comforting cats either..... Maybe she should just stay out of the way. Watch out for stupid Riverclanners trying to start fights. Yeah, that sounded like the best plan. Shaking out her pelt, Cherrybubble moved to go and sit near Pinepuff. Maybe she needed help, Cherrybubble could figure out some way to help her. "Do you need any... uhh... help?" She meowed, a few coughs racking her body in between her question. She needed a drink of water to clear out this tickle. Because that's all Cherrybubble was going to allow it to be to her. A simply tickle caused by too much ash in her throat. @Fuzzy ---- Foxbound had followed the rest of the clan to Cattail pond when Lionstar had came to get them, her ears flicking uncomfortably as she glanced around. She didn't like this, not one bit. It was too open, too crowded, and too wet. At least the fire couldn't get them here though. Shifting in her spot, Foxbound glanced around at her battered and burnt clan. She could not stop thinking about what terrible luck they had, as a clan. They needed to invest in a better clan structure, that was for sure. Glancing around, Foxbound spotted Buckbranch, clearly busy helping out. She wouldn't bother him with her churning thoughts right now. It wasn't the right time. She was just glad he was safe. Buzztuft too. Maybe she could talk to the other she-cat about the little... talk her and Buckbranch had. Buzztuft sure would be able to make sense of it. @chaton ( @Slushie ) |
Re: Cattail Pond
[ @BILL. ] Duskstar hobbled into the designated area, snapping from her daze as she heard voices. Her tail twitched at the sight of Lionstar and WindClanners and she frowned. Dammit, had a lot of time already passed? What a great leader she was, letting the other Clans do all the work. She sighed and padded closer to Lionstar. "Sorry I didn't come here- here sooner. I was delayed by a medicine cat." She pointed to the cobwebs smeared on her burn. Duskstar allowed her gaze to pass over the Clan, assessing the situation. It seemed everyone had been given a duty. Good. Gathering materials for dens was the most obvious choice and her ear perked in thought. She had been unable to catch any of what the golden leader had said, leaving her to only guess at what was currently being done and where she would need to step in. "Materials being collected, cats- cats are resting, WindClan is here helping. I should help with collecting materials. Though maybe it- it would be good to- to check on my Clan personally? Come on, think, where would you- you be of more use right now? What would- would former leaders do? Materials are needed more- more but I need to make sure the Clan is- is okay. And where is Softbriar? I haven't seen them- them since before the fire- fire started! Have they done- done anything? And I need to- to check on the territory. Will we- we even be able to go back to our- our camp? No, we won't, the tree was- was far too large. But right now everyone here is- is more important. And if I don't step- step up and actually do something now- now I'll be a useless leader and that- that tom will be right and I'll just be the downfall of my Clan- Clan and god why can't I- I think? Come- Come on, Duskstar, do something!" Every word was mumbled under her breath as Duskstar fell into her thoughts, muttering to herself with her assessment of the situation. Once she was finished she groaned quietly and curled her claws into the ground below, head aching from going back and forth with herself. |
