Shiverkit spotted a warrior lying in the clearing, seemingly doing nothing. Is that a sort of warrior duty, to watch the clan? The black she-kit trotted up to the older she-cat, her green eyes bright and curious. "What are you doing?" She asked, her head tipped to the side. Maybe her mother was going to scold her later for disturbing a warrior, but the she-cat looked rather bored, and what her mother didn't know couldn't hurt her.

Whiteheart shook out his pelt, nervous energy surging through him. How would Shadefrost react? Would he still want to go hunting?

Dadrkcloud padded to the exit with Foxtooth's dead body in her jaws she walked a little slower now just to make sure that any cats around will see that traitors are not tolerated in Shadowclan.

OPEN:You can ask her what happened or help her I don't care you can do what you want.

While her mate was out working his warrior duties, the queen had taken some time to sit in the came and just relax a little. She knew that both she and Silentstorm would have a lot to do when the kits were born, so she would make sure she rested before their birth.

But her moments of calmness were shattered as her green gaze traveled over the camp and found Darkcloud near the exit of the camp, with a body inhis jaws. Foxtooth's body - a clanmate she had seen and heard enough of. Marshhowl got to her paws, approaching and meeting his gaze sternly, without words telling him to explain.

Darkcloud dropped Foxtooth's body for a moment to respond to Marshhowl she didn't have to but she might have well "Marshhowl what do you want? she asked the queen curtly her amber eyes full of coldness as the queen stared a Foxtooth's body "If you want an explanation you should ask Dawnstar for one not me but seeing as your so intrested..." the dark she-cat paused as she gave the other she-cat annoyed glare "I might as well tell you that this is what happens to traitors" she hissed quietly before picking up Foxtooth's body again and turning towards the exit.

Mintkit was bored, so he had went out of the nursery to maybe find a warrior that wasn't busy with their duties. Well, when he was hoping that they weren't busy, he had imagined that they could at least breathe. It appears not, as the sharp tang he now recognized as blood filled the camp clearing. The tom-kit's eyes widened with shock as he took in the scene before him: two warriors standing, the air between them thick with tension, and the third lying dead on the ground.

The pale tabby stepped forward until he was beside Marshhowl. He hadn't talked to the queen before, but she was the most familiar face at the moment, and he found himself pressing against the queen. "Marshhowl, what... what happened?" He whispered. The queen seemed to be trembling... no, that was his own body that was shaking with fear. The other warrior, Darkcloud, seemed to not care at all that she was dragging the corpse of her own clanmate. How could any cat act like that? Mintkit felt his stomach lurch as he got a closer look at Foxtooth's body.

Stars, oh no... There, right at the clearing's entrance, stood Darkcloud and Marshhowl. From the warrior's den that Nightshiver had just left, she could see them almost facing off, the tension thick in the air. Between them, a dead body. Foxtooth's. Her breath caught in her throat, a lump forming at the sight of the lifeless body. She took a deep, shaky breath. And to make things worse, a kitten, Mintkit, promptly came to cling to the queen's side. Oh how the child looked mortified, as did the white feline.

What had happened? How did Foxtooth die? Something was amiss, and frankly, the lady wasn't intent on finding out the details -- not with this nearly palpable tension, not with a kitten around. Nightshiver swallowed. Someone needed to get the kit back inside the nursery - but who? Where was Dappledleaf? She looked around, but didn't spot the forever queen, until it hit her. She'd hope Marshhowl would have the good sense to take Mintkit away, but what about her?

The young molly had to stand her ground with herself, realising that she was acting like a fool. What good would she be as Dappledleaf's helper, if she couldn't take one kit away? Frozen in place by the sight of a body... She felt so weak. But the sight of the kitten pushed her forward; the memory of her new duty pushed her forward. Nightshiver pushed her nerves out, locking them away as she quietly yet swiftly approached the three felines, lightly nodding to Marshhowl before she bent down to look at Mintkit. A light smile drew on her maw.
"Why.. don't we... g-go.. inside.. the nursery. ..Mint..kit?"
She spoke in a gentle tone, one meant to reassure the child as she offered a quick escape and distraction from the horrid sight of a dead body - something a child should never see.
"Come, I could... tell you.. a st..story."
She raised her head back up, gesturing carefully with her paw in the nursery's direction.

It didn't take long for a queen to try and usher him back into the nursery. Mintkit took in a deep breath and searched Nightshiver's eyes. To his relief, he found nothing but care and concern. Blinking his eyes to try and adjust to his surroundings after such a large show of red, the grey tabby stumbled towards the nursery, his mouth shut for once.

"How- What happened?" He repeated his earlier question. What did Foxtooth do to deserve such a... such a fate? Surely no cat deserved to die? Maybe it was an accident, from a dog or fox, and now Dawnstar was going to send out a patrol to track it down and make sure no cat ever got hurt again, and Elmshadow would clean Foxtooth up and the warrior would be better in no time and up and about as if nothing had ever happened-

Mintkit dug his claws into the dirt below him and blinked back his tears. Since when did he get so soft? He knew that cats died, and that it was common for warriors to experience death... so why was he making such a big deal out of it? I'm probably getting in the way of the warriors, he realized dully. He needed a distraction from all this...

The grey tabby tom nudged Nightshiver's flank with a paw. "Hey, could you tell me that story you mentioned?" He asked meekly, his voice uncharacteristically soft.

Whiteheart and Shadefrost were just going to exit camp, except they had been blocked by two cats; Darkcloud and Marshhowl. At Marshhowl's paws was Foxtooth, his eyes glassy and dull. Whiteheart was mortified. The kits are seeing this!

"Uhh... Do you think we could watch? This is kinda interesting..." Whiteheart muttered.
