Fawnkit purred, distracted from his sulking. He glanced at Deerwing, who was sleeping in her nest. Did that queen ever leave her nest?? Yeah, maybe being pregnant was hard, but he'd seen queens just a week away from kitting able to run and jump. Deerwing still had a month and a half to go! The more he thought about it, the more he became worried for the queen. Then he shook it off and turned back to the younger kits.
You better, I need to be able to beat up Dawnstar and take over Shadowclan!

He said in a very even tone. He had thought that playing with the younger kits would make him feel better about his delayed apprentice ceremony, but it just kept making him feel worse! Maybe he was expecting too much.


In her nest, Deerwing jolted awake as pain shot through her body, making her groan and roll over on her side. Her eyes were half open and her ears twitched as she listened to the kits roleplay with each other. She smiled a little, thinking about how her own kits will play with each other too one day.
