Re: RiverClan Training Island
Twigpaw padded into a small clearing, looking around intensively. Fawnpaw followed begrudgingly.
Can we go back now? Fawnpaw whined. We need to find someone to train us. Twigpaw muttered, annoyed. Well did you at least invite Streampaw? Fawnpaw asked, groaning. Twigpaw rolled his eyes and flicked his tail. Why does that matter? @Sagun (If you want Streampaw to come meet up with them, feel free!) (this is open to any warriors! They need hunting training!) |

I was waiting for him. Fawnpaw rolled his eyes. I can't follow an annoying furball around on an empty stomach! Twigpaw rolled his eyes. Oh, sure! I'm the annoying furball! He said sarcastically. Fawnpaw nodded. Indeed. He said with his chin high. |

Finally, some training! Fawnpaw hopped to his feet. Yay! What are we doing? |

Yeah, that would be great! We were just about to start looking for someone. Fawnpaw nodded in agreement. He totally knew what Twigpaw was talking about! |

That would be good. I've barely had any. Fawnpaw flicked his tail. And I've had none. |

So are we going to start with fishing or land hunting? Twigpaw asked, glancing at Streamfern. |

Re: RiverClan Training Island
Despite a few hiccups, things with Nightpaw had been moving pretty smooth. Between chewing up Streamrunner and patching the young molly up, Kestrelwing had come to realize that their training was almost complete - sort of. "Alright. I want to go over swimming one more time, then we're gonna practice some fighting. Got it?" There was no mention of the incident with ShadowClan, nor anything else. Instead, the tom turned look at his apprentice. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
“Got it.” She said, smiling at her mentor. (i just spent an hour watching a Loki documentary lol) @spade
|
Re: RiverClan Training Island
"Follow me," Kestrelwing ordered, walking over to the stream that ran around the outside of the training island. He stepped into the cold water, letting the initial shock travel up his legs. "Now. Do you remember what I first taught you about swimming?" |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
“Keep in tact with the water.. and make sure you focus.” She said, remembering a few things she had learned. @spade
|
Re: RiverClan Training Island
"Yes, true. You always want to keep your legs moving. Kick out with your back legs, and scoop your front legs back." Kestrelwing stepped further into the stream until he was shoulder deep. Picking his legs up from the rocky seabed he swam forward, across the small stream sideways for a bit before climbing up on the shore across from the island. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
She took a deep breath and stepped into the water, a chill came up her legs as she kept her legs in tact no matter how much they shivered. She finally swam next to her mentor, trying to tread water. @spade
|
Re: RiverClan Training Island
Yellow eyes watching her, Kestrelwing nodded. Her swimming was definitely improving, and she seemed to be treading water just fine. "Good," he huffed, sliding back into the water. "Now kick off with your back legs and follow me," he instructed, swimming ahead of Nightpaw and slowly circling around the island. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
She kicked off to follow him. @spade
|
Re: RiverClan Training Island
It was decent, and with some practice Nightpaw would definitely made a good swimmer. Once they had been swimming for a bit, Kestrelwing drifted towards the island again and got out, giving a shake of his gray pelt. "We'll need to practice a few more times before your assessment. Next up is a refresher in fighting. If I recall you've only had one fighting session with me. Let's see what you remember," he instructed, creating space between the two of them. "Now, let's practice them move by move. Show me a front paw strike." |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
She looked at him. She did a frontal blow with her dominate paw. @spade
|
Re: RiverClan Training Island
Good. Kestrelwing nodded and stood up more straighter, studying Nightpaw. "Alright. Now go ahead and try to attack me by knocking me off balance. Since you're a bit bigger than most apprentices, use that to your advantage," he instructed, waiting for her oncoming attack. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
“Ok” she said, she swooped her paw down to his legs, hoping to knock him off balance. @spade
|
Re: RiverClan Training Island
It was a rather obvious move, one that Kestrelwing saw coming. He easily leapt over her paws, and used the momentum to aim to land on her back and pin her down. She would have to try better if she wanted to catch him off guard! ”Focus! You have to keep the element of surprise as much as you can,” he growled to her.// @Kunaiskrill |

He became embarrassed, his pelt flushing with heat. "No," he said quickly. "I was just curious is all. I'm guessing you know how to fish too, then." |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
“Alright” she said, she began whirling around him in circles, hoping to confuse him. @spade
|
Re: RiverClan Training Island
That was more like it. Once he'd released her from being pinned Kestrelwing watched as she raced circles around him. It was easier than she expected for him to keep up with where she was, but the surprise would come in whatever offensive attack she decided on. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
She leaped out right at the toms chest, hoping to pin him. @spade

Re: RiverClan Training Island
Kestrelwing had been expecting her to attack from the side - a more complex move - so when she came straight at his chest he was caught off guard. A simpler move, something he hadn't quite seen coming. He rolled under her momentum as she pinned him down, surprise registering briefly in his yellow gaze. "That was good. A simple move after a complex distraction. Smart." |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
She smiled with pride. [”thank you kestrelwing” she smiled, dipping her head @spade
|
Re: RiverClan Training Island
Wriggling out from underneath Nightpaw, Kestrelwing got back up to his paws and gave a shake of his pelt. ”Now I want to test your defensive skills.” The tom circled her, looking for the perfect opportunity to strike. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
She looked at the claw, she then noticed she was trying to knock her off of balance. She rammed into his chest as a counter.

Barkfuzz chuckled. "No need to apologize. Let's get started." He made his way over to the river at the edge of the island and waded into the water. |
