She wasn't about to get punished for not completing this patrol! She was too close to becoming a warrior to get punished now! Spiderthroat might smack her, too. She didn't want to upset her friend and mentor like that. Treepaw rushed out of the camp, heading straight for Cattail Pond, not waiting to see if the warriors were following. As she arrived, she'd turn her head back and see if they kept up with her running. Skunkstrike 36 Moons She/her Purrk(s): Beefed Up T1; Just a Scratch --------------------------- Since the battle with RiverClan, Skunkstrike had felt a tad slower and out of sorts; Likely a result in her new vision downgrade. Half the world was black, and she found it hard to judge the distance between herself and the cats around her. She flinched when Treepaw sprinted past, her vision perceiving it as just a bit too close. Oh, it wasn't that close...not even the feel of fur. Oh! Looks like they were heading out now! Skunkstrike raced after Treepaw, glad that she was taking some initiative. The big black and white she-cat took a moment to glance at Spottedfire,, turning her head all the way around so that her left eye could see, "Treepaw's one of the best apprentices in ThunderClan," The chipper warrior purred, "Bound to be one of the best warriors too!" She went to 'wink' at Treepaw, but with her injury, she wasn't sure if the expression had been passable, or just a weird, awkward one-eyed blink. Oh well! They arrived at their destination, and Skunkstrike meowed, "Alright, we're looking for marigold and some cobwebs. Pretty yellow flowers, grow low to the ground." She explained, "And hey, Treepaw! Bonus credit if you can find any lavender or even some moss. Lavender smells really nice, is purple, and can make you feel sleepy." She recalled Springpaw- or rather, Springlight, collecting some or asking for some on a patrol in the past. "Get as much as you can, but don't wipe out the whole patch either." She added as an afterthought, "We need to make sure we keep a good supply growing for our medicine cats." With a purr, a twitch of her whiskers, and a swish of her plumy tail, Skunkstrike padded off, following her nose to the pretty recognizable scent of marigold. At this point she had half a mind to flirt with the medicine cats anytime she was asked out for a patrol like this now...but her intrusive thoughts scampered as she found a pretty mid-sized patch of marigold. She took a little more time than usual to collect even a fair two stems, brushing her nose and whiskers over the flora and grasses to try and gauge herself. She could feel a prickle of frustration, and it made her claws itch. If she ever....came across that ginger fish again, she was going to even the score. Dark thoughts aside, Skunkstrike did her best to focus on her task, snapping the flowers clean with her teeth. She collected only three of the golden flowers, turning her attention over to a bush where she saw some faded silk between the branches. Or was it that? She couldn't tell. Sighing, Skunkstrike picked up her marigold and moved over to the bush, peering into the branches with her left eye to be sure that she was about to reach for cobwebs...and not about to anger some sort of spider as she reached in with a large paw and swished it about. Pulling it back, she found her paw covered in sticky brownish-grey webbing, and she sighed in relief. https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=45086 [Treepaw] | Trees Friend ThunderClan Apprentice Silver Tongue Despite the situation, Treepaw found herself letting her mind wander for a moment at Skunkstrikes words. She'd corrected and defended her when Spottedfire questioned what was happening. Sure, Treepaw probably shouldn't have taken charge here, but she was anxious. Her anxiety always made her act out, she couldn't help it. Anyways, did the warrior really think that about her? Was she actually doing well in the clan to be noticed at last? Her eyes widened for a moment, giving Skunkstrike a grateful slow blink. However, the next set of words brought her mind back out of the sentimental moment. She gave the warrior a quick nod, determination flaring up in her green gaze. Treepaw darted away from the patrol, still staying within sight of the warriors in case something were to happen. Her nose led her to the flowers that Skunkstrike mentioned. Lavender. Her eyes widened with interest at the pretty purple flowers sprouting from the ground. They must've just started with new-leaf coming on them. She'd have to take some before the next frost wiped them out! Next, Treepaw found herself wandering a few more steps, finding a patch of marigold! She knew this flower! She'd found it both times she helped Springlight in her gathering events. She carefully nipped the flowers away and bounded back to Skunkstrike and Spottedfire. She grinned cheerfully at the black and white warrior, teeth shining around the stems of the yellow and purple bouquet she was holding. "Well we should get these back to camp now. The meds will be mighty happy with this," She collected her marigold with her jaws, slapping the cobweb onto the fur on her shoulder. "Lesh ger!" It'd been a bit since he tried his paw at fishing.
Wolfhive took a seat near the edge of the pond and raised his paw, waiting for a fish to come into sight. It took a few tries, striking down to hook one before he landed a successful grip, but once he had one on the bank he killed it. Then he tried again, and once he had a second he headed back to camp. |
Re: Cattail Pond
Well, that was easier than Wolfhive expected. He thought Beachpaw might move around a bit more, act rabbit-esqued - but it seemed his bunny bud was lost to the clouds again. Still, Wolfhive didn't mind too much - using the opportunity to bop their nose. "Gotcha!"
He retreated from Beachbun's form, pursing his muzzle thoughtfully. "Sure, we can try that." Wolfhive was a bit skeptical about size making much of a difference, he figured a big bunny would still be on guard and ready to dash off if they heard something strange. He'd give Beachpaw a chance to go into stealth mode, before he started to sorta, hop around the grasses. The movement was a bit clumsy, much like he'd imagine an oversized rabbit to be. He remained alert though, ears twitching for sounds of movement. [ @Fawn ] |

Bumblestar had been tracking him almost his whole trek. She'd scented him near Willow's Rise, a revelation that had sent her hackles bristling, because how dare a RiverClan rat trespass on their graveyard a second time? Granted he looked too young to have a clue what had happened those moons ago, but that thought didn't quell her anger. She caught up to him using the criss-crossing branches that made up ThunderClan's canopy, hopping silently from one to another as she waited for him to take a break. Thankfully, he was far enough from her camp and he didn't seem to even have a clue where he was. Her ears twitched at his shout, claws scraping the branch she perched on at the edge of the clearing. With a snort, she descended the oak, dropping to her paws on the grass behind him. "A brainless pipsqueak looking for me, what an honor," she sneered. "You're way outta your depth here 'n I'm not in the mood to get my claws bloody today. Get the hell back to your territory." |

He/They - 13 Moons - RiverClan This was what he was waiting for. "NO!" the one-eyed cat shouted, fangs bared. "You are going to pay for what you did to me. You killed Beanstar, one of the only cats to stick around with me, Invaded our camp, and hurt my mentor. You will pay for hurting furbs," he snarled. The tabby unsheathed his claws, eyes blazing with anger. This cat was a jerk, and she was going to pay. He didn't know how to fight, sure, but he could just copy bumblestar and try to fight. Best case scenario: He kills her. Worst case scenario: He doesn't return. Rainpaw shuddered at the thought. Without any warning, the tabby leaped at the leader, prepared to fight. Bumblestar rolled her eyes. A million other things she could be doing and she was forced to deal with some delusional kid who genuinely thought he could take her on. "Shut up 'n just let me take you back-"
He lunged before she could finish. "Or not." He started with the most basic move, one that left him open to a plethora of damaging retaliation - but like she'd said, she wasn't in the mood to get blood on her paws today. She side-stepped easily and threw out a forepaw, cracking him across the side of the head and sending him tumbling away from her. It wouldn't be hard enough to seriously injure him, but it might leave a bit of a bruise. "Keep it up 'n see what happens," she grunted. "Last warning. I don't wanna kill anybody today, but I'm not above it if you decide you really want me to." [ @Breaking Dawn ] |

Re: Cattail Pond
A silhouette of a small cat concealed itself behind some trees. The scent of outsider came from this silhouette. It almost seemed to be on a journey of sorts- or lost. Then, the silhouette stepped out and towards the pond. "...This pond is bigger than the one over by my house... hm, where even am I? I've completely gotten myself lost, and my hooman might be back by now... oh dear." The cat was a black-and-white she-cat with blue eyes, her voice sounded worried as she turned around and went to leave in confusion. Ashenheart had been sat by the pond, her tail in the water, when she saw the outsider.
"Hm, a lost one. I'd better direct her to the outskirts." She got up and began padding towards the kittypet, who had stopped walking and was frozen in fear. "...Is that a lynx..? Or... I'd better be careful..." the kittypet mumbled, before a voice piped up behind her. "Excuse me, little one, but you seem lost. You've wandered onto Thunderclan territory. Where are you looking for?" Ashenheart asked the young cat politely. "Oh, I'm just trying to get home. Its a huge mansion in the outskirts, has a pond a bit smaller than this one near it, usually has a green 'moving-box' in the shutter-door-room..." the cat began to explain. "What is a 'moving-box'? Is that your term for what we clan cats call a monster? And is a shutter-door-room basically some sort of small den for the monster?" Ashenheart asked in slight confusion. All these odd words... "Pretty much. I-If you could direct me to the outskirts I'd appreciate it." The kittypet meowed in reply. Ashenheart led the kittypet to where the outskirts border was and just smiled. "Heres the outskirts. Hopefully you find your way back eventually." She purred. "Thank you, ma'am." The kittypet meowed in response before padding off. Ashenheart went back to beside the pond and lay down again. |

https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=41690 | Sprucejumper | Kitty Softpaws - Active | Ultimate Predator - Inactive | Agatha Kitty - Active Silent paws followed after The Boulder and the paw that accompanied them, the brown feline that led them appointing themselves as the small talk expert as well. The former kittypet found no problem with this turn of events, if anything considering this the superior option. He'd never held issue with his former mentor's tangents, finding them agreeable. It was hard to find anything to dislike with the undeniably kind and easy going hornet. Admittedly, a brow was quirked at the suggestion that him and Lightning could be considered cousins, giddily - mentally, the tom had never been one to vocally or physically show his delight - enjoying the untold admission that they saw themselves as much as his parent as he felt them to be as well... but not quite relishing the idea of this including extra family. Such as Angry. The idea of being related to Angry was quite frankly even more terrifying than just being allowed to exist around the leader in the first place. Merely nodding along in agreement when The Boulder mentioned his ability to attest to their competence as a hunting teacher, Sprucejumper was spared having to verbally respond as the three legged cat soon got distracted... or rather focused? They were here for flowers, after all. Flowers and... cobwebs, if he wasn't mistaken. Considering the vast amount of marigold The Boulder had already obtained, he found himself nodding, bounding off on his own. There were no huge amount of trees in this watery region as he was used to, but there were trees all the same. If he had to guess, most of the spiders would be building their nests up on the branches in an attempt to avoid the moisture that was already beginning to cling to his pelt the longer he lingered in this place. Climbing around from tree to tree, jumping from one branch to the next as he kept his eyes opened for any glimmer that might tattle on the home of any one of the eight legged silk weavers, the Havana Brown mix soon found it. A large web. Huge, really. The bugs in this area had to be enormous, considering the massive size of that web, spanning entirely among two wide apart branches. While he wasn't about to test his theory, the apprentice aged warrior was fairly certain the thin, stringy structure was bigger than his head. Emerald eyes blinking emotionlessly at the admittedly larger than he cared for spider standing still on its web, the young warrior turned his attention elsewhere, looking up at the many branches the tree offered. With it being the growing season - most certainly it felt like if life had just restarted after the bleakness of winter - most of the branches in the tree were still green. Fresh. Well attached to the limbs. And yet he could spot them, here and there. The remains of the season prior, looking shabby and defeated in comparison, even as new leaves sprouted through them. Turning from the web, Sprucejumper, living up to his warrior name, leaped upwards, gaze fixed on a thick, brittle looking offshoot of a branch that seemed like it would be easy to break off. His judgement accurate - his knowledge of herbs subpar at best, but apt when it came to the fortitude of wood and its weight carrying capacity - the branch almost snapped like a twig as soon as his teeth grasped securely around it, taking only the most miniscule of head motions to release it from the tree. Content with his find, the chocolate point headed back towards the web, finding the spider still there. With careful aim, the tilted his head, the branch pointed towards the spider... and he jabbed! It took only one strike, and the young tom almost sneered, taking note of how the creature was no longer clinging on his prize. Almost. It was quite a sobering realization when his eyes caught movement at the end of the branch and he noticed a now irritated spider getting ready to crawl all the way to his face for an attack. Terror taking over as the creature began its climb, Sprucejumper panicked, smacking the branch directly on the one he was standing on, the brittleness of it gratefully sending a huge portion flying to the air with the spider still attached to it. Breathing hard as he felt his blood pressure slowly lessen, he let out a sigh of relief only after he had properly felt his face with his forepaw, ensuring no other limbs were crawling around on it. Despite the branch no longer being the same size, it was still more than enough to wrap the entirety of the web around it, providing a well portioned sheet that would no doubt be capable of wrapping up more than a single injury. No clue how many. He wasn't a herb cat. But it was still more than evident to him that it should be of some use to the ones who knew how to use this. Mouth clamped tightly on the thick branch, the tom descended, joining up with his two patrolmates once more. As much as he disliked the taste of the wood on his tongue, he could admit to preferring it to having to make small talk with Lightning as she asked if they could return already. The young warrior was uncertain what the rush was, having never been very fond of being cooped up in camp all that much himself for the many moons he had retained his paw moniker but decided it wasn't his place to question it. This was Angry's apprentice, after all. Who knew what went on through her mind. Instead, he merely blinked in The Boulder's direction, knowing full well he would be able to carry naught else. Hopefully the size of the web would be to the herb cat's liking. If not, he supposed he could always head on out for more herbs if she wished. It wasn't exactly like he had much else going on today, in any case. | +1 Cobweb Sheet | @Rani [Mudhound] | @Fish [Lightningpaw] |

"Yep yep! You got a lotta apprentice family now, including Woofie though he might disown you if you call him that or tell him I did hehe! Its gonna keep growing too, I know where my skills lay and its in training most of all! Bumble-sis jokes that my size is wasted on me 'cus I dont have the heart to be a bully in battle so while I seem to shape up more then enough to be a hornet I mainly pull my weight there~" That was true for the most part, Mudhound could do serious damage in a fight and was terrifying by size and strength alone but shied away from battle unless really necessary which was less then Bumblestar wanted, so stuck to strengths. Which was their frankly bizarre hunting methods and technical knowledge that meshed well with teaching the younger cats. Which lead in well to the next idea. "Oooh I can grab you later today after this patrol once Ive found Swanpaw and we can get some hunting training done then! And no water I promise! I dont like it either and while I like mud I think Lioncrest would chew off my ears if I brought Swanpaw back all dirty for him to clean~ So no mud!" The tripods head moved to track their grown up kids flight along the tree tops, flinching when it seemed like he'd fall and cheering once he got the giant spider web, which might be even bigger then five of the little bundles cats usually collected! Snagging a fourth marigold from the many flowers the hornet padded over, cleaning Sprucejumper of the little spatterings of cobwebs that had been littered across his pelt by his flight through the trees, knowing he preferred to be tidy, and formed one bundle of their own from the mess and grinned, happily declaring. "Alrighty nice work everyone I think we're done! We can go back now yep, dont worry about reporting Ill do that quick and get everything sorted~ Nice hustle!" A hustle that felt increasingly more necessary as a strange scent wafted through the air. It wasnt one Mudhound recognized and it was faint, but it felt like a predator even if it wasnt identifiable. There was a heavy weight in the air, once that spiked the hornets fur and even as the birds still sung and the sun still shined their tone had taken a wary dip as they gave a "Lets get going quick." and guided the two out fast, tension easing as distance was put. That was weird. [4 marigold 1 cobweb] @Alchemist Kitsune @Fish |

WOODPAW Apprentice - Tom - ThunderClan Quickly the two would make their way over to the Cattail Pond. Woodpaw's ears flickered back and forth as he took in the scenery around him. It was beautiful, the territory of ThunderClan. Or else perhaps it had been his home forever, and that was why. Shaking his pelt, the apprentice looked up at the larger tom, Wolfhive, one of the Hornets. Though unsure of what they were going to do, the apprentice thought he was ready for it. Training had always been a success, at least most of the time, for him. Suddenly, the other would talk, and abruptly a paw swiped over at him and he stumbled backwards to see as Wolfhive slashed across his side. The sudden actions had caught the apprentice off-guard and he retreated even more before he glanced back. With the pond behind him, he would suddenly swipe up water towards the face of the larger Thunderclanner, hoping to blind him for a second. Then, crouching down, he swiftly, as quickly as possible, tried to bound through the tall cattails invisibly, perhaps not to his success, however, if Wolfhive found him. To the side of the warrior, Woodpaw wound charges and try to tackle him down. His eyes were bright with burning determination, mind spinning quickly for tactics that could potentially help. With Dawnstar prepared to hand Sunkissed Creek back over without a fight, Bumblestar wanted to take a survey of the extra piece of territory she'd laid claim to after giving RiverClan what she saw as a helpful paw with Beansprout. It had given her a lot more trouble than she thought it was worth and if it didn't serve any further purpose, she had no qualms with returning it to RiverClan.
Light rain pattered against the canopy and the underbrush as Bumblestar approached the break in the bushes. From here, the sound of droplets hitting the surface of the pond was able to reach her ears. But the sound and the smell of the rain was enough of a distraction that she almost didn't see the massive creature ahead of her until it was too late. The stench punched her nostrils without warning and Bumblestar's hackles shot up in response. She shrank back into the edge of the clearing underbrush to scan the area, and her eyes landed on what was probably the biggest badger she'd ever seen. Its fangs bared in a bloody snarl as it lifted its head from the half-eaten corpse on the ground. What animal it belonged to was unclear, but the fate the creature had met at the massive claws of the badger was frighteningly evident. Bumblestar's ears flattened as the badgers nostrils flared and its stained black-and-white face turned in her direction, beady black eyes locking onto her with a scary amount of precision. Apparently it deemed its earlier target a good enough meal, because it merely growled and looked away again. The faint smell of milk wafted toward her with the movement. That was more than enough for Bumblestar to make a decision. Cattail Pond had originally been nothing more than a claim of status in the first place. Dealing with the poison had made Bumblestar question its worth already, but now a badger that likely housed kits nearby was scoping out the area, and the Pond was no longer worth the effort in defending. This could be RiverClan's problem - given all of the trouble they had handed ThunderClan and now WindClan, they deserved to be the ones to handle it. With a flick of her tail, Bumblestar backed out of sight and scaled the nearest tree. Her journey back to camp would be made through the branches; there was no sense in leading the massive predator right to her front door via a ground trail. |

"Smart!" Wolfhive flinched back as water cascaded over his muzzle. Despite exposing himself to it (with Violetfreckle's help), he still wasn't comfortable with it against his fur. He shook his head, ears swiveling as Woodpaw disappeared into the cattails. Wolfhive heard him coming before he saw him - Woodpaw's body sending the cattails rustling. He swung to a side, dodging the charge - and reached to grab at Woodpaw's tail. If he caught it, he'd yoink the apprentice back (and try not to hurt him in the process!) [ yep this works !! @Blazing ] |

[skill-perk free] .•° Beachpaw - Very narrowly dodging that kick (but not before seeing their life flash before their eyes, remembering the previous one) Beachpaw frowned at the attempted escape of their opponent. And with a tired huff, they flopped onto their rear. "Kinda tiring, the battle stuff." Not that they were eager to say it, it was also just... a little boring. Not much excitement in hit, dodge, hit, dodge, repeat. Sure, the moves were different, but it quickly overstayed its welcome. |
Re: Cattail Pond
"It can be." Since Beachpaw wasn't continuing, Wolfhive took it as he could drop the bunny act. Honestly, a relief - it was getting kind of irksome to roleplay it. "C'mon, I think that's a good point to end on for today.' He joined Beachpaw's side and flicked his tail over their shoulder.
Unlike Beachpaw, Wolfhive enjoyed fighting in his own way. Maybe not this, but actual fighting. "I enjoy both, but I don't think attacking fake bunnies is much of a battle." For one, outside of kicking Wolfhive couldn't fight back. "Besides.. I don't fight because I want to, I fight because I have to." Then, he nudged Beachpaw oh-so-gently. "Why don't we head back to camp, you can take a break for the rest of the evening?" [ @Fawn ] |

[skill-perk free] .•° Beachpaw - Skeptically, Beachpaw clarified, "So the real thing is more enjoyable when you're attacking real ...clanmates." Practicing specific moves over and over, or even freestyling it (as they'd been doing) didn't spark their interest. @BEAR. |
Re: Cattail Pond
"Some cats might not like it regardless, but when you're engaging with another cat it's... more exhilarating." Hit different, Wolfhive supposed was the best way to put it. Being a "bunny" was frustrating and limited, and nothing like how a real cat should fight.
Pain was a part of life, as far as Wolfhive was concerned. It molded a cat into who they needed to become. "A lot of things do, opting to not fight isn't going to keep you from being hurt. At the very least we should teach you how to defend yourself, so you can minimalize how hurt you might get." He wasn't.. going to force Beachpaw to hurt others, but he wanted them to be able to handle a punch if it was dealt to them. Wolfhive began to lead them back. "We'll do some practice tomorrow, alright? And if you really hate it after we go over some techniques.. we can swap to hunting or something. I just wanna make sure you can fight, if you ever need to." [ @Fawn ] |
Re: Cattail Pond
WOODPAW He was soon detected by Wolfhive, and yelped as the Hornet grabbed his tail. Though the warrior was trying not to harm him it still hurt, so he went limp and retreated with him. As Woodpaw got closer to a point where his tail is trailing down, he stood onto his front paws and kicked back at Wolfhive, trying to get his tail back in the process. He then turned to face him so he wouldn't be ambushed from behind and retreated backwards, his tail lashing. His mind thought as he circled Wolfhive and thought of what to do. This is almost his first ever sparring session. He's a bit extra too careful. Sorry for being late and short!)) |
