Deerwing sat up in her nest and shook her fur out. She sighed and padded over to the entrance and looked out at the bustling clan. She wished Fawnki- She wished Fawnpaw was still here to play around. It wasn't that she didn't love Ghostkit, but... That one was just different. No matter what, she could never get Ghostkit to talk with other kits, or even venture out of the nursery for anything other than food and water. Maybe she should take him to see Snakeheart. What if there was something wrong with Ghostkit? After all, all of xyr littermates were stillborn. Maybe Ghostkit was missing something crucial. Now that she thought about it, Ghostkit was a little small for xyr age...

Tallkit was doing his usual thing which was sleeping in his nest. He loved to just laze around. He just hated when the other kits talked and yelled around him. They always woke him up with their talking. If only he had been born deaf perhaps maybe he wouldn't have to listen to anyone anymore. He could just sleep all day and be lazy. Tallkit popped open his eyes and let out a yawn.

Near Tallkit’s nest, a little russet Tom lay awake, staring up at the nursery ceiling. His mind was calm, as he thought, just thought. But every idea or conversation that came into his head seemed to point back to one thing.
That poor Redkit was mute.
It was one of Redkit’s sadnesses, perhaps the one he thought of the most. Oh, how he wanted to talk! Alas, he couldn’t.

Tallkit heard the faint breathing of a kit(his large ears drew more noise). He stood up. They didn't seem very bothersome and he could use a friend, but only if they didn't annoy him with their rambling(he doesn't know he's mute yet). "Hey Redkit. Enjoying some peace and quiet just like me?", he asked.

The young tom licked his paw and passed it over his ear. He then continued to groom his chest fur. He yawned and looked around.

Redkit’s head perked up. Well, it’s not like he really had a choice to be quiet, but Tallkit was right, it was peaceful. He slightly nodded.

Ghostkit sat up in xyr nest. Maybe today was the day that xe would go out and see the world, meet all xyr clanmates! Or maybe not. The world outside of the nursery was scary, so full of unfamiliar experiences and scary creatures.
