(It's fine! I have someone wanting to rp with Sunmist anyways, so I'm going to make an excuse for him to leave haha xD) Sunmist smiled at the two as his thoughts seemed to be echoed by Roseblaze. His ear flicked at the molly's question, one he didn't have a full answer to yet. He had been left behind after their deputy left, as he wanted to make sure every cat was okay. But that resulted in the tom not hearing any directions that were given, if any. He just knew they had to get away from this water, and now. He made sure to keep his voice hushed as he answered Roseblaze so the kit besides them wouldn't hear. "I don't know," he admitted. "Just anywhere away from the water. Higher ground, somewhere safer..." His voice trailed off as he gave yet another alert sweep of their surroundings- the water was still climbing at an alarming rate. Then, the tom swore he heard some quiet mewling of yet another kit. He stopped his walking and looked around, trying to find the source of the noise. But the kit seemed farther off, and he couldn't catch sight of them. Worried, he looked over at the two cats with him. "Roseblaze," he gave a pause to make sure he had her name correct, "I hear another cat in need. I... well, I can't leave them behind." He lowered his voice so as not to worry Dewkit, he didn't want the tom-kit hearing the entire problem. "They sound like a kit. I'm going to go find where they are, get him to safety, okay?" He questioned, referring to the kit standing right next to them. He gave her a moment to agree, but another cry had him even more nervous- he needed to get to that kit now. "I'll be okay, don't worry about me!" His voice carried over the tom's shoulder as he sprinted as quickly as possible through the mud. Quote:
Sunmist ran as quickly as he could towards the source of the noise, but the mud sucking at his paws caused him to stumble often. With how wet everything was, it was hard not to slip on the ground. The tom wound up having to slow his pace so he wouldn't injure himself; he needed to get to the kit fast but would be of no use if he was hurt. The rain seemed to batter down harder on the tabby's face, hurting his eyes and he narrowed them against the storm. As he moved on, he kept his ears alert for any more noises from the kit he swore he had heard. "Hello?" He called out loudly, just as a gust of wind almost knocked him off his feet- imagine what that wind would have done to a little kitten? He pushed on, more determined to bring the young cat to safety. "It's okay, I'm here to bring you to a safer place," Sunmist shouted again, not worried about bringing the wrong sort of attention. Any creature would be stupid to pick a fight in this weather; they would both die if that was the case. Finally, the orange cat sighted a small shape stumbling around. His heart clenched as he noticed the poor thing was limping and probably injured. His approach was slower than his frantic walking before as he didn't want to scare the tom-kit. "Hey there little one," he called out in a softer, friendlier one. "I'm Sunmist, you don't need to be scared of me. Come on now, I'll get you somewhere safe to have that leg looked at." He gestured to the kit with his tail, urging him to come closer to the larger cat. Sunmist frowned as he watched the kit stumble yet again- their walking would be slowed with this. "Would you be okay with me carrying you? It'd be better for your leg, and for us to move out of here quicker," he explained while his gaze raked over the gathering floods. They needed to get a move on quick. |

Daypaw settled the warrior on their back. They were a small apprentice, smaller then others but they kept a grip on the tom. Making their way out of the den there was nothing but chaos,rain pouring over head. They trotted to the mudslide that was the hill; there only way up to safety. They took a large leap and dug their claws into the grass, shifting to make sure the warrior was still stable on their back. Quote:
Daypaw lead the way to the hill. It was muddy, paw prints glistened but soon were washed away by the rain. They dug their claws intot he grass to keep a grip, starting to lead their way up the hill. It was the only way to safety. At the mention of Starclan it made Daypaws tail twitch and bite down on the herbs harder in their mouth,"Starclan was the cause of this, taking innocent lives when uneeded just for some truce." Daypaw saw life and death every single day, whether it was from sickness or injuries. But this..this was slaughter. Quote:
Daypaw was at the entrance of their den, watching Shadowclans ruins fall apart before them. Everything seemed so loud and quiet at the same time. The screeches of cats and cries seemed to be blocked out by the loud thunder and rain pouring above them, making Daypaws fur cling to their small frame. They scanned for any cat that looked like they had an injury or needed help. They werent a Riverclan cat,but theyd try their best. Looking towards where the apprentices dens were they saw another cat. They looked like they were struggling with their paw to even walk. Daypaw launched themselves out into the clearing, large splashes cascading under their paws at they ran. The clearing made them stumble for a moment, but they dig their claws into the ground to keep steady. Once reaching to the apprentice they were still a little bit far, the medcats voice boom against the thunder,"Lean forward and I'll grab your scruff!" |

If they think he's my mate, then they'll just think that Moonsplash and I are friends." Echoskip sighed, tucking her paws in and flattening her ears. |

(I'm on mobile so I'm sorry if there's typos) Shadekit stumbled again, trying to be light in his left paw. It wasn't working well, the rain pelted his down and water kept running into his eyes, causing him to squint and blink and not watch where he put his paws. He stumbled about, splashing down in a pooling puddle of water. Shadekit narrowed his eyes, he was determined to evacuate if no one wanted to help aid him. He was sure his ankle was fine, but right now he really wanted a medicine Cat or someone to give him the final okay. The rain wasn't helping his condition, as well as soaked fur and stumbling steps, he thought the rain would cool the slight throb in it, however it only shot it with harsh water bullets, like small bees we're falling from the sky. His ears desperately perked when he heard the faintest of noises, some talking, and calling out to see if someone was there. Shadekit opened his mouth to call back, and heard more noise. He clung to the ground with his thornlike claws as a gust of wind threatened to make him tumble like a bush across the camp. Shadekit couldn't make out the muffled sentence called out to him because of the roaring rain and whirlwind of air around him. Then he saw it, an orange tabby cat coming towards him. Shadekit closed his eyes in relief, with the other cats closeness and and the act that he was near another cat that looked like he would seemingly help, he found the most safety he had felt since the first raindrop fell on the camp. Shadekit didn't reply at first, he was too much in shock and focusing on not shivering next to the warrior beside him. Shadekit let out a little squeak of dismay, did this cat-Sunmist, think Shadekit was scared of him?He swallowed, through his eyes Shadekit must look like a little coward compared to the braving apprentices and warriors fighting through the storm without assistance.His shoulder loosened with relief as Submist offered him help to find a safer place. He could barely hear the Tom through the Walls of the wind, he figured he shouldn't talk, his squeaky and high-pitched voice would be drowned out in this weather. In response, Shadekit took a staggered step towards the larger cat, feeling his fear melt away layer by layer. At the cats next question, he nodded vigorously, all he wanted to do is get somewhere safe, even though Submist probably couldn't hear him, Shadekit spoke anyways "thank you." |

Tigerpaw had been on the borders, noticing the heavy rain, but since he was on higher ground, he was safe. He seen the trail of Shadowclanners panicking for their lives. The tom would had gone down and helped them, but his paws stayed planted to his spot. Over the moons, he grown pretty big, defined in muscle. He haven't seen Desertpaw recently. In many moons...in fact. He figured she was about to be a warrior--or, at least almost one. He himself was almost a warrior as well. He trained long and hard to get where he was, but as he was looking down at the Shadowclanners, his heart turned. What if Desertpaw was in that crowd? Would she even...want to see him? He knew it haven't been good with them, and every chance he tried to avoid her, but thinking that she would be drowning in that discomfort, made him tense on the inside. Sure, he wasn't a shadowclanner, and this wasn't his battle, but he cared about a shadowclanner more than he liked to admit. It wasn't good that he held separate loyalties, and Fairypaw told him constantly to forget about her, but he couldn't just do that. It wasn't simple. The tom scanned the area, his eyes dull and clouded over. At least he hoped to catch a whiff of her, or at least see something--like her pelt or something. Just a little indication to hope that she survived. ''Please, Starclan...let her be alive. Let her be alive.'' He didn't know she made it to higher ground, and he feared that she didn't make it at all, but he continued to hold on to hope--that she did. He would never have forgiven himself if she were...dead. Drowned in the downpour. He knew he ceased their meetings because it was the right thing to do. Loyalty to clan above anything else...anything else...everything else. Quote:
Grizzlyprint stayed still until she was firmly on his back. He cursed himself for being so kind, but he knew it was the right thing to do. He just didn't want to acknowledge it. He didn't want to die. Could anyone blame him? ''Hold on tight.'' He told her before he started to half-swim, half-run through the downpour. With the she cat on his back, the rugged tom tried to avoid everyone else. Bumping into them and such. His moves were a bit sloppy, at the fact he kept forgetting that the she cat was on top of his back. She was somewhat slowing him down, and Grizzlyprint wanted to be rid of her, but knew it was wrong to do so. Yet, the thought was temping, but he continued running. ''You alright up there?'' Possibly, he was moving a bit too fast for her, but he knew if he slowed down, things would go haywire. They could drown. ''I need to get to higher ground.'' He muttered to himself, turning his head back to check up on the she cat. Oh, she was exhausted, tired. Grizzlyprint nudged her with his muzzle just to be sure she was alright. Her fur was completely drenched. ''Don't worry, we're almost there.'' He whispered, and turned back as he continued to run and avoid as much obstacles as he could. He didn't want to lose the she cat that laid on his back. Quote:
Quote:
Quietdance trudged through the water, and was heading back towards the camp, but he could hear the voices. The voices of his sons. ''Ashpaw! Creampaw!'' He yelled once more, perking his ears in alarm. But, he wasted no time as he heard them again. He followed their voice through the thunderous rain. When his eyes landed down on his son, Ashpaw, he padded towards the apprentice, giving him a few sniffs. Their fur was drenched, but they had a heavier pelt than he did. ''You alright?'' His voice was gruff as it always had been, but he was worried about Ashpaw. As he was for Creampaw, at hearing his voice again, the tom paddled forward, breathing heavily until he saw Creampaw as well. He raised his tail high from the water, but it sunk once again at the heavy rain. ''Thank starclan, you toms are safe.'' He huddled close to them, and gave them each a gentle lick atop their head. Normally, Quietdance was not an affectionate tom, but this was desperate measures. He was scared. Now, that he got his sons with him, he hoped Ambercrackle was alright. She was carrying kits! He feared that her pregnancy would slow her down...not to mention, Feathermist. ''I have to go find your mother. Get to higher ground, alright?'' He told them, sternly. He wouldn't leave the area until he found Feathermist, and made sure she was alright. Even if he had to die trying. He also had to keep his kits safe. He expected them to be obedient and do as he said. He didn't give them time to reply as he paddled forward, hoping to catch a glimpse of his queen. @Teza Quote:
With Nightfallkit still on his back, Honeythistle scanned the crowd for anymore of his mates and kits. They were all scattered around, desperate to get away. And, their scents mingled together in the air, destroyed by the downpour. The large tom felt his small son breathing softly while on top his back. He was mainly looking for his mother, and he swore he could had heard her call. The tom turned back to his mate, Mothflower, and he looked at his kits. Sunrisedapple held Twilightkit with a fierce hold, but gentle enough not to disturb the small kit. Eveningkit was safe, near her mother, and Nightfallkit was heavily drenched in rain, exhausted. Honeythistle would had cursed at Starclan for bringing this, but he stayed calm. He pushed his muzzle to the side of Mothflower's cheek, feeling the cold rain against his maw. ''I'll be back, I need to get my mother.'' He whispered in her ear, then turned to look at Sunrisedapple. ''You think you can take Nightfallkit, or is your paws too filled?'' He asked her. Sunrisedapple seemed to look like she was nodding, but instead she was throwing her head slightly towards Royalflash--the troublemaker who looked to be having a time of his life than to be thinking it was tragedy. ''Royalflash!'' Honeythistle yelled, his voice booming through the rain. It made Royalflash ears flattened to his head as he was scared that he done something wrong. Sure, he wasn't panicking as everyone else was. His fur was definitely completely drenched, yet that still didn't phase him. The tom, with a dejected look padded towards his father. Honeythistle turned his head and gently picked up Nightfallkit, flinching inwardly as he noticed his son slight shivering. He shoved the kit towards Royalflash, and Royalflash gently handled Nightfallkit by the scruff. ''Take him, I'll be back.'' His voice was deep and he turned to head back because he knew he heard Cedartuft's voice...he just didn't see her. With all the rain pouring down, it was hard to see anything. As he continued to half-pad, half-swim through the water, his eyes caught sight of Pearlstream and their kit, Daturakit. They were safe. With his sister, Echoskip...and some other she cat that he really didn't know, but they were safe. His heart--only for a second, started beating again-- but then it stopped. He worried about his other kits. His other mates. Rosenose was expecting! She would give birth any moment! Strawberrythorn was nursery a recently born litter. The little scraps of fur was helpless! He had hoped someone had saved them. He didn't see them in the nursery, so they were out. Hopefully on higher ground, as his mate and other kits should be, but he trekked through the water. Looking for his mother. She was too old to be going through this. And, if anyone was going to help her, it was Honeythistle. She was the only she cat he would listen to, unknown to his siblings and father. ''Mother!'' He yelled, upon seeing her odd form. So skinny and frail. Her fur soaked against her, showing her bones. The tom half-swam his way towards her, and upon reaching her, he sniffed her around like a parent would do to their young. ''You alright, momma? Not hurting or anything?'' He pressed himself against her, trying to get a hint of her scent, but it was hard when the rain was pouring. ''We need to get you to higher ground. It'll be safe, come on. Mothflower and half of my kits are waiting for us up there.'' He told her, his voice low. The one thing he knew was that she was going to make it. His entire family was going to be fine. @Duststorm @Doe Naps @CandyFlossCat |

(No worries! That's a lot to write on mobile o.o) Sunmist wasted no time in stooping down to pick up the small kit, giving a short grunt when Shadekit was heavier than he had anticipated. He almost slipped while trying to hold the kit higher, his paws scrabbling against slick mud to try and keep his bearings. Thankfully, he never fell and soon was taking carefully placed steps away from the rising floods. He couldn't help but glance back at camp one last time, his eyes wide as he noticed a few shapes left in camp. But now he had a kit to look after- an injured one at that- and there was nothing he could do but pray to Starclan that the rest of his clanmates would make it out alright. The tom's eyes quickly narrowed, as widening them had caused the wind and rain to make his eyes water. Sunmist had to constantly remind himself not to lower his head against the sheets of rain; he didn't want to drag the kit through the mud as that would not only be cold and uncomfortable, but would jostle his injured leg more. He was sure the kit had only twisted a paw, but still he couldn't be too careful. The orange tom tried to catch sight of where the majority of his clanmates had headed off to, but they had long since passed. It was up to him to get the two cats to safety, and with the burden of responsibility came determination: he would not let this kit down. The urge to protect lent some strength to his weary bones, and he was able to fight against the wind and gain some uphill ground. Still, the water rose quick and stray puddles combined with mud made the slope slippery. Several times the tom slipped backwards and had to keep himself from tumbling backwards. He couldn't allow that to happen with the precious bundle in his mouth. Sunmist was sure he had torn a claw, as he tried to use them to keep traction. From the throbbing in one of his back paws, he was sure he had sliced a pad on a sharp rock hidden in the mud as well. Each step forward hurt, and he knew mud getting into the cut on his pad would probably cause infection, but he didn't even care about his own well being at the moment. This tom lived and breathed the nursery; the kits within it brought joy to him every day. So the life of the kit in his mouth was far more important to Sunmist than anything else. He desperately tried to search for a safe spot to stay through the storm, but the pelting rain made it hard to see. The rain also made it so he couldn't follow the scent of his clanmates, or hear anything other than howling wind and the quick paced patter of rain. "Come on," he muttered to himself as his head swiveled around. He tried to look slowly, not wanting to swing the kit, but looking all around him served no purpose and instead he slowly trudged on. At least he was moving higher, the tom thought positively, rather than down. Up was better, even if there wasn't real shelter nearby. |

@Constellation
Desertpaw blinked as she reached the top of a hill. It was still raining and the ground was still wet and muddy, but at least she was out of the major flooded area. She walked on to find the rest of her clan and her family until she saw it... him. He looked like a blazing fire in the storm she was in. Her heart stopped like it used to a few to many moons ago. She must have been really tired because she didn't believe her eyes. However, she knew he was real somewhere in her heart... She knew he was really there. Why was he there anyway? He had left her long ago with a broken heart and hatred... no not hatred. The apprentice could never hate Tigerpaw. It was more like a bitter disappointment. Yes... disappointment. Desertpaw blinked her hazel eyes as she began to walk slowly to him. "You shouldn't be here," she said in a voice that held pain and a slight hiss of anger. How dare he show his face to her again! However, she was a bit happy and relieved to see him. He looked well. He had grown into a fine... warrior? He should become one soon at least. Last time she checked they were the same age or near the same age. Desertpaw waved her drenched tail back and forth as she looked over the now more muscular Tigerpaw she had known just a few moons ago. He had grown well, and she had to admit he was a bit easy on the eyes, but then she stopped those thoughts as she remembered her scarred face. Desertpaw would not let that get her down because it ruined her beauty in some cats eyes... no she let it get her down because it was a painful and physical reminder of the day tigerpaw had left her.... alone. Spiderlegs held on as she felt the tom rush to safety. "Yeah, I'm fine," she said. "You really shouldn't be doing this... it is better for one clan member to be saved than have two die," she said. Why was he doing this in the first place? One moment he was running away to save himself, but now he was trying to save her? He was a confusing fellow, but she was grateful for his sudden change of heart. The she cat could feel the rain water rolling down her black pelt. She then felt the nudge of her savior and flinched at the touch. She didn't really like physical contact from other felines. It made her feel uneasy. She perked her ears at his comment about high ground. "Just follow the paw prints in the mud," she said as she looked at the ground. Yes there was water, but the mud was to deep and dense to let the water wash the paw steps away. She then realised her helpful statement was no help to him because he seemed to know what he was doing. Spiderlegs was just used to helping others with stuff and spending time with kits rather than other warriors that she forgot the cats back she was upon was a warrior. "Ok, I can hold on till then," she said trying to be cheerful. |
