Re: Seastones
By the time they were out of earshot of the Gathering, Firehawk was doing his best to not break down in front of Fawnsqueak.
To say he was upset.. wouldn't accurately touch how he was feeling. It was like being thrown into a memory, reliving watching a kit be torn to pieces and facing her killer-- a literal traitor, once again. A cat with no respect for life. The peace of Firehawk's world had been shattered, and right now.. he just needed to be away from the Gathering. "You should go back," he mumbled, doing his best to give Fawnsqueak a smile. "Don't let me hold you up." [ @Dipper ] |
Re: Seastones
While grateful for Firehawk keeping himself together, Fawnsqueak felt guilty being the reason for his suppressed emotions and wondered if it would be better letting him have a moment to himself. But he was hesitant to do so, not just for his own peace of mind but conscience. It would be lame of him to ditch because he wanted to hear what the leaders had to say, especially when he could grab that from a nice clanmate later. "I don't know," he said, voice betraying the extent of his uncertainty. "Are you going to be okay out here? It's sort of... it'd be kind of.." His eyebrows pinched. He didn't know the right word for this. "Rude" wasn't fitting and "lame" didn't capture how badly he'd feel to let Firehawk drown in his sadness alone. A lifetime of mixed encounters still hadn't prepared him for dealing with this gracefully, and he wished he was at least semi-skilled in social interactions so he'd know what to do.

Re: Seastones
Firehawk reached over to pull Fawnsqueak into a tight squeeze, a low purr rumbling in his throat.
He was upset, but .. Firehawk never liked inconveniencing others. In part because the last thing he wanted to do was annoy them .. he didn't want them to push him away like Lionstar had done. "I said go! I'll be fine, Fawn-- I'll just be going back to camp." He gently bopped his nose against Fawnsqueak's. "Enjoy the rest of the Gathering." [ @Dipper ] |
Re: Seastones
When he was pulled close into Firehawk's fluff and warmth, a tightness choked him and his eyes began to dampen, chest constricting almost painfully. They were the warning signs of an incoming cry that he didn't want to have in front of Firehawk. Fawnsqueak didn't know why, as he hadn't been aversely affected on a personal level before this, but it was something about the typically-jolly koi boy being sad that crumpled his heart.
"I..." And now, there wasn't a chance he'd be able to walk guilt-free back into the gathering while he left Firehawk to venture into the forest with only his sadness as company. That just seemed.. mean, and heartbreaking. He wouldn't have the ability to focus. Fawnsqueak swallowed. "No, I was going to probably head home anyway. I mean, it's pretty much over, y'know? All the leaders have spoken." Well.. except Duskstar, but he couldn't imagine anything that exciting had occurred in ThunderClan. Their news had been dry the last couple times. "I should still, uh, go back.. see if I can find Otterstone," Fawnsqueak couldn't recall catching sight of her at the gathering, "look for her kind on the way.. except not the poisonous ones - that sort of thing." @BILL. |
Re: Seastones
Riverwood padded into Seastones and laid down, tired. She was exhausted from helping the two apprentices. She hadn’t even learned their names. But she didn’t care, she told herself.
I don’t care if people know me, I help because it’s right. Even if they hate me. She repeated to herself over and over again in her mind. Despite this, she looked at the ground, a little sad, still trying her best to hide it. @~Radiantshine~ |

Horizonfur sees her and narrows her eyes What was Riverwood doing out here? |
Re: Seastones
Riverwood was so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t notice the other cat. She was still trying to convince herself that she didn’t need people to appreciate her, or remember her at all. She was just fine on her own. @~Radiantshine~

Horizonfur pads up to her. "What are you doing?" She asks Riverwood, suspicion edging in her voice. |
Re: Seastones
Riverwood looked up quickly. For a brief moment, there was a different look in her eyes, different from her normal, formal, leader-like gaze. But only a moment, and her deep purple eyes quickly returned to normal.
“Hello,” Riverwood nodded slightly in greeting. “Do you require any assistance?” she mewed. @~Radiantshine~ |
