This couldn't be true. It just couldn't. No no no no no. The one cat he wished he could ban from rearing kits, or selecting a mate to rear kits with... sky-brained idiot, he just had to bring more of himself into this world. Kestrelstar fought to keep the frown off his face, tail twitching irritably as he made his way into the nursery, yellow eyes scanning for the cat he was searching for.

"Heronflight," he called, making sure his voice sounded welcoming in preparation for the questions he had. The leader picked his way over to the queen, ignoring any mewling kits that tried to grab his attention. "I see you're doing well. If you don't mind me asking... who is your mate again?" Please, pleasepleaseplease. The begging was relentless, not letting up despite the answer being clear in front of him.

Kestrelsplash took a step into the den, then another. His paws tingled with joy; he felt weirdly calm stepping into the den, and it felt ironic since the Nursery was quite possibly the loudest den in the camp, with all the kits playing and yowling. He enjoyed helping the Queens get their minds off their rowdy kits and play with them himself. He couldn't wait to have him and Fernstream's kits in the mix, wanting to learn how to swim and catch fish. What if he got to Mentor one of the kits? He purred.

Crouching down to get to the middle of the Nursery, Kestrelsplash announced; "Who's got the guts to battle me? I bet none of you can bring me down!" That'd get the kits hyped up; it was like the kits completely forgot if he was a cat or a hungry dog when he challenged them like that.

Puddlekit lifted his head at the chllange. His fur bristled as he stood up to face the other cat.

The she-cat smiled as she watched Kestrelsplash. He seemed to like the nursery. She padded over, watching him play with the kit. "C'mon Puddlekit, you can beat him!" she joked, looking at her mate.

Kestrelsplash glanced over as he saw his mate cheering the kit on, his smile only growing. "He's too tiny, Fernstream! He'll never take me down!" He couldn't help but chuckle after; this was getting fun!

"Argh!" He said dramatically, his smile never leaving, as he felt the kit grab onto him. He didn't want to give up his stance, though; he gave a small shake before he attempted to give more prods to the kit, yet he was too far away for him to reach. He decided to use his next tactic; he rolled onto his side slowly to make sure the kit wouldn't get hurt as he hit the ground, then wriggled, laughing before getting back into character; "You haven't beat me yet!" He twisted and nudged the kit with his muzzle.

Puddlekit growled and swiped his paws at the tom's face, making sure to keep his claws sheathed. He usually was so careful and quiet, but he was bored and alone, so this helped.
