Frostpaw darted foward, going to attack his left shoulder. But, at the last moment before her paw was in the air, she veered sharply to the right, trying to trick him and catch him off guard and attack his right shoulder.

Paws stormed at him and Wormbite was ready -- moving to the right to dodge Frostpaw's attack. However suddenly he realized she veered to the right. He attempted to still move but Frostpaw still landed her attack. Wormbite tried not to let a smile show on his face at her success. Now that his apprentice was close, he took the chance to try and slam a paw against her chest -- hopefully to knock the air out of her for a moment.

His striped tail flicked back and forth in a restless rhythm as Stormtalon led three apprentices to the training island. Obviously Mistypaw walked among them. She was his responsibility after all, had the makings of a strong-minded warrior with her inquisitive nature and ability to color outside the lines - but today Storm would test her limits.

Aside from his own apprentice there was Petuniapaw--Blizzardsky's kit, wasn't she? Stars. Ironic one of his own former mentors Blizzardwind took on her training, but oh well. If her father came at him for this so be it. In fact, Stormtalon relished the idea of handling such a scenario.

Last but not least, Sunpaw decided to tag along. Casting a glance at the ginger she-cat now and again, Stormtalon realized he wasn't familiar with her mentor. Did she have one assigned? No matter. Whoever it was could thank him later. With a small pang in his chest Stormtalon remembered training Frostpaw, the she-cat Bright attached himself to like a leech. She had been blind too. Recalling her resilience on the recent herb patrol, Storm was confident Sunpaw would perform equally as well as the previously mentioned apprentices.

He kept up a brisk pace. When they arrived, his slender claws dug into damp earth before Stormtalon turned his gaze on the trainees. Alert. Calm. "We're covering battle strategy today," he said simply, volume steady against both whispering breeze and bubbling river.

"Unless you've been hiding under a rock, each of you should know: your chances of facing combat in the coming moons are high. I won't lie to you. We've lost clanmates and we will lose more. That could be one of you - which is why I suggest to take this training seriously." Uplifting? No. But it was realistic. "Starting now. I want each of you to answer a question. Being an apprentice, smaller than most warriors, what's your advantage in a fight?" Piercing green eyes lingered on each of them in turn. Waiting.

(No worries, that happens to me sometimes)
Frostpaw grin was wide as she landed her blow - yes! It felt so good! She had fooled him! But her reflexes had slowed down at this fantastic feat, and before she knew it, the wind was being knocked out of her and she stumbled backward, nearly falling.
"Oof!" She tried to regain her balance, but only fell. "No fair!" She complained, hiding her embarrassment. "I was still basking in my glory of landing a blow in a senior warrior! You can attack me when I'm doing that!

Mistypaw followed Stormtalon and the two other apprentices up to camp, keeping up until they arrived at the training island. She felt like she had to pant and gasp for air, but she couldn't let any weakness show. Well, maybe in front of Stormtalon, but not in front of two completely new cats.

She moved closer to Stormtalon, knowing she'd be safe around him. Not too close, though, she didn't want to embarass herself in front of other cats. Misypaw's ears perked as she intently listened to her mentor's words. An apprentices advantage in a fight? Well... maybe being logical? Maybe they could come up with a strategy?

"Maybe... they can form a logical strategy, outsmart their opponent. Do something the opponent isn't expecting," she meowed slowly, halfway coming up with her answer while she was talking. Mistypaw hoped she had gotten it at least a little close to right. Yeah, she wasn't that far in training, but she still wanted to try her best. She needed to pay attention at her fullest, or she would just blurt out random answers. Her mind wasn't really in the right state these days.

Was it?

BravePaw took a breath, focusing, before plunging in-front of the cat, batting them down as they had shown them until the cat was on the ground, pinning them and stepping off afterwards.

The molly followed after the warrior in excitement. She was really hoping to master something today. Her mentor was pretty much busy and she was really eager to learn. She looked from each apprentice that was with her. Would she be as good as them? Hopefully, she was. She spends more time making flower crowns than anything.

As she listened to Mistpaw's answer she thought of her own. "Maybe its because we're smaller than them, so it makes it easier to outrun them.", she answered looking at Stormtalon. Even if she was wrong it was better than not answering at all.

Jump forward, swipe and swiftly back again, avoiding any potential
blows that might be thrown her way, or that could be if she wasn't fighting a
literal tree branch. Goldenpaw wished that at least one of the two mentor she
had gone through had bother with teaching her something before disappearing,
but nope, Starclan couldn't even give her THAT.

She let out a hiss of anger and annoyance, swiping out at the
branch so hard it broke of and fell to the ground with a loud snap.
Great! Now she could even practice on her own

The tom padded over to the training island to possibly see if any apprentices were training with their mentors. It was always fun to watch apprentices gain fighting experience. Not have had an apprentice yet he hadn't ever trained anyone how to fight. Well today looked like his lucky day!

Redspeckle found Goldenpaw, an apprentice had had never talked to before there. Were their mentor with them? He scanned around, but no sign. He sighed and moved over to her. "No mentor huh? I know how that feels. I could teach you something if you want?", he meowed. He actually did know how he felt as he had went through at least four mentors. It wasn't a surprise though. He often traveled.

Goldenpaw glanced up when she heard the unfamiliar voice,
it was Redspeckle, a warrior she vaguely knew but had never
sheared a conversation with."They both dissuaded to go missing
right after getting an apprentice" she mewed, her voice wasn't
hostile but not exactly welcoming either. She sometimes wondered
if the two cats, Blackflame and Driftbreeze had left because of her,
she'd never talk to them but what if they... no, that was bump to think.

"Sure." she answered and turned so she was facing
the warrior. She wasn't sure if Redspeckle had trained others before
but any training would be appreciated in the current situation.

We'll go over one defense and offense move and I'll give you an overview -- then we'll be done, "He mewed, nodding. Frostpaw did have great potiental and Wormbite was aware of this. She was smart and seemed to be decently balanced for the most part. It was her temper that they needed to work on.

Whether or not Frostpaw was alright with the spar being finished the oriental contuined. "When facing larger oppoents you have to be aware of their size. They are typically strong but lack in speed. If you're worried about their size a good move is to spring onto their back and grip with your claws. You can easily inflict bodily wounds while evading their teeth and claws. However if they lower their self to the ground you get off right away. If they drop and roll then it can quickly turn against you. Now show me."

Wow they both went missing. So they weren't at all similar. His never went missing they just didn't want to train him anymore. Right now he couldn't focus on that. This apprentice was here to learn a move. The tom's mind was blank at trying to figure out a move. It was all too new at this. What if he screw up?

Redspeckle was stumped for a few moments, but then he decided just to go along with it. "The best way to learn a move is to just go for your opponent. Try flying at me.", he meowed. He had an idea.

Goldenpaw examined the tom for a moment, he seemed
a little hesitant at first but she wasn't sure if that would show through
in his fighting, it was a possibility but nor something that was always
true - like with Goldenpaw, she was rather quiet but when it came to
fighting she was like a storm in her mind.

She nodded shortly, both to herself and Redspeckle before making
her move, with sheared claws of course. Her leaps were as quick as
she could make them as she moved forward, jumping first towards
his right flank before swiftly darting to the left, swiping her paw towards
his shoulder before nimbly taking a hop back to avoid the warrior hitting
her as easily.

“You are so old,” Frostpaw crumpled under her breath so that Wormbite couldn’t hear. She was irritated that sparring was over; she was just getting warmed up! But she listened to Wormbite’s explanation nonetheless, deciding they could always continue sparring another day. She took in Wormbite’s words, then jumped onto him, choosing not to sink her claws in because that would be foul play.

"I hope they get along, Moonfrost," she mused as Moonfrost sat beside her and drew a paw over her face.
"We should start with a territory tour and then hunting I think," the silver furred shecat said as she glanced around the clearing. Moonfrost nodded in agreement, and they sat patiently, awaiting the apprentices to join them.

rainingpaw walked toward her mentor in a better mood when she was elirar that day even thought she was mean to other cats she found that she wansnt mean around her mentor even though her mentor was not around much she liked the she-cat and coudent wait to start training with her and wolfsong and would try her best to be nice to the other apprentice.

Moonfrost rose to greet Rainingpaw as the young cat approached and touched her muzzle to her head affectionately. Wolfsong purred as she saw the two greeting one another.
"Hello Rainingpaw. I apologize we didn't get started sooner, Moonfrost and I heard a rumor about our family and went to investigate. How have you been? Please, catch us up while we wait for Sunpaw to join us," she mewed, blue eyes blinking kindly.

She sat down in front of Moonfrost and Wolfsong. There was a strange apprentice she had never met before with them. They must be Moonfrost’s apprentice, Rainingpaw. Strange… Sunpaw huffed and then tried to fake a smile.

Wolfsong purred as her apprentice approached. She stood to greet the young can and affectionately pressed her muzzle to Sunpaw's forehead. "Hello, Sunpaw. I apologize for our absence. Rainingpaw here is Moonfrost's apprentice. We were just discussing what to begin with. Would you two like to go on a tour of the territory and learn hunting skills today?" she asked as Moonfrost stood from where she sat and looked between the two young she-cats.

His ears perked up, did she just..? Of course not. The Dark Lord must have misheard her. He listened to the sound of pawsteps -- Frostpaw was rushing at him and he stood his ground. Pushing down the reflex to immediately jump to the left, she landed successfully. Wormbite dropped to his paws and rolled.

Yes Frostpaw mad - ahhh what was happening. Her glorious triumph was squashed - literally. One moment she was on top of Wormbite, and the next she was being suffocated by his body and the ground. It only lasted a moment, and the next he was off of her, leaving her splayed out on the ground, stunned. What had happened? “Why did you do that?” Frostpaw complained, struggling to her paws.

Codpaw hopped to his feet and paced a bit. Training! He wondered what kind of training they'd be doing today. He hoped for battle training. Fishing was boring and swimming was easy. He padded out of camp before his mother and trotted to the Training Island then spun around in the clearing to face Sagewhisper. He shuffled his front paws. The stories of the patrols that had gotten attacked by Shadowclan were playing through his mind. "Are you going to teach me al of the best fighting moves?! I want to be prepared to fight when we go and attack Shadowclan!" Codpaw didn't care much for clan feuds or battles but participating in a raid on Shadowclan territory sounded like a whole new adventure in itself. If they were going then he wanted to make sure he was there too so he could check out Shadowclan territory.

Both her kits were social and extroverted, but she had to admit Codpaw was more energetic about his future. Of course, his mindset was no where near that of a warrior's but that's what she was here for. She wasn't supposed to be the one to take on this role, she'd expected to be done with raising kits after they became apprentices. But, they still came back to her for advice every now and then, and now apparently she was filling in for Cod's mentor. She didn't try to hide her annoyance at the fact that other warriors couldn't do the responsibility assigned to them, but she wasn't about to turn down the opportunity to shape her son into the cat she wanted him to be.
"No cat in their right mind wants to attack ShadowClan right now, Codpaw," she said coolly, taking a seated position before him and beginning to lick off the remaining droplets of water clinging to her pelt. "RiverClan is strong, but if we are smart we will avoid an outright attack on their home territory. That's where they would have the advantage," she continued in a no-nonsense voice. She had never been one to baby younger cats, the molly always spoke to everyone as if they were on her same level of intellect. If they didn't agree, that was their problem, and if they didn't understand, they weren't worth her time.
Looking up from her chest she caught a glimpse of Codpaw's eager eyes boring into her and sighed internally. Every apprentice always wanted to start with battle training immediately. In the past, she'd always done territory surveys first, but in this case she supposed she would have to trust Hailfreeze had already done so. Besides, they were already on the island. After a moment of silent hesitation, she parted her maw once more, "I suppose you're justified in wanting to learn fighting moves though, it is a good idea in the times we're currently in." She shifted onto her paws once more, tail brushing the ground behind her gently. "Alright then, show me what you know." Or what you think you know, she added silently to herself.

Codpaw shrugged off Sagewhisper's explanation for avoiding a fight with Shadowclan. He'd just have to find other ways to entertain himself, that was fine. The battle was mostly just an excuse anyways. His mind was already steaming ahead to other subject matters.

His demeanor dropped slightly at her questions about his training. He didn't want to tell his mother he knew basically nothing, but then that wasn't really His fault. "Oh, well, I've mostly just worked on fishing and swimming. We haven't gotten to any real battle training..."
