Re: Sleepy Thicket
Fawnpaw
The sad, resigned honks coming from her patrol-mate did nothing but drown her hopes in sorrow. Frost had come and wiped clean any herbs that could be used and frustration bubbled within Fawnpaw's chest at the fact. Not at her Clan, no, but... at herself. Stars, how could she let this happen? How could she not have prepared better? She had known that leaf-bares were difficult despite never having lived through one, why did she not see this coming? She did her best to keep her blue eyes clear of the raging war she felt going on inside, but for good measure kept her face away from Goosehonk and Cloudpaw. She didn't want either of them to potentially catch the emotion leaking through in her eyes, as it was meant for no one but herself. Upon hearing the voice of her best friend though her ears perked up. She had not found anything yet on her hunt but perhaps his call meant he had? Doubling back over to where Cloudpaw was poking his head out of a tree stump, Fawnpaw bounded over and leaped gracefully onto the edge, peering down inside. Oh! "Cloudpaw, you're amazing!" In a swift motion she glanced at her best friend, aiming to wrap her paws around his neck and pulling him in for a hug before leaping down into the hollowed out stump. Carefully, she removed the little flowers as best she could. There were only three, but three was better than nothing. With the flowers in tow she lifted herself out of the stump, pelt brushing past Cloudpaw as she moved to land on the forest floor once more. Sending a silent thank you to StarClan, she set the flowers down and glanced at Goosehonk. Admiration bubbled in her chest at the warriors diligence in checking, despite the rather poor prognosis in finding anything. "Anything over there Mr. Goosehonk?" [ @canineantics @perseus. ] |
Re: Sleepy Thicket
Goosehonk had been searching and searching but nothing, he truly felt disappointed in himself that he couldn't find anything that would be helpful for the medicine cat. When he heard the voice of Fawnpaw he turned his head to look at the medicine cat, shaking his head and honking sadly. Hopefully the medicine cat would be able to feel his sadness and disappointment.

LILYCREEK
She frowned a little, small amounts of fear overtaking her as her strides ate up the distance to Sleepy Thicket. Blreghh, this place was creepy. She turned to her patrol mate, giving a small grimace. "Let's get this over with, shall we?" [ @IvyHasSpirit ] |

PebbleSplash RiverClan She/Her She nodded and looked around. "The last time I went hunting I was attacked by a sea gull..." she mumbled with a chuckle. |
Re: Sleepy Thicket
@Cherry~ Sorry this took so long, I figured I would move them over here to move this along! |

LILYCREEK
"A seagull?" Her ears perked up for the sound of prey, hearing rustling in the brush. "Why, that must what been quite the story," she murmured as the sound wandered away. She should try her luck. [ @IvyHasSpirit ] |
Re: Sleepy Thicket
Fawnlight
She wasn't sure about this; truthfully, Fawnlight didn't think she'd ever be absolutely sure. But as she approached the patch of territory known as Sleepy Thicket, she knew it didn't hurt to look. Most, if not all, of the frost and snow had melted despite leaf-bare still retaining an iron grip on the forest. A rare moment where no clouds obstructed the sun as it sank into the horizon, casting beautiful glares of reds and oranges through the trees. Bleeding sun, sleepy trees. It... it had to be the thicket, right? Stopping just before the marked graves of her fallen Clanmates (a soft dip of her head and a moment of silence given to them before Fawnlight continued on) the medicine cat then lifted her head to glance around. The sun was almost blinding, but it didn't stop her from glancing around, twisting this way and that. She wasn't entirely certain what she was looking for, but she would stay out here until the sun sank below the land and dusk started to creep out. [ closed...ish? ] |
Re: Sleepy Thicket
A gentle breeze brushes across Fawnlight's flank, and if she looks hard enough, she might be able to make out the form of Talonkit. Padding away from the graves, the vision disappears just before one enters a small clearing where the sun shines down and a patch of herbs grows. @daenerys |
Re: Sleepy Thicket
Fawnlight
Feeling the soft caress of the evening breeze drift past her, Fawnlight looked up in time to spot the faded figure of Talonkit. The beginnings of a smile perked up, and she quickly bounded towards him. He faded out of view before she could reach him, but in his place the undergrowth was parted. The RiverClan medicine cat followed it, peering through the opening. There, before her illuminated in the last rays of golden light, was a patch of herbs. A spark of joy shot through her and Fawnlight almost collapsed to her paws in relief. Before her was a patch of what she assumed was catmint (it appeared similar to what Cowpaw had described), as well as some celandine and goldenrod. She hadn't used any of these before she luckily she knew what they all did. "Thank you, StarClan," she breathed, closing her eyes briefly before bending down to pluck the herbs from their spot. As she went to back away from the clearing, the sun's light seemed to dim, and with it the source started to dip below the horizon. Fawnlight gave one last soft glance towards the clearing before turning and padding home. [ +2 catmint, +2 celandine, +1 goldenrod ] |
