The silver calico queen licked her chest fur before flicking her gaze over the kits. "Don't upset Everwhisper. The kits will grow up just fine...I'll make sure of that......Just...just make sure you still watch them as they grow into warriors." Silverear mewed, emotion flooding into her voice for a little bit. It saddened her she couldn't tell the kits who exactly their father was, but at least she could tell them he is Shadowclan. That he is a strong warrior and is watching them. Maybe they would think he died, or maybe suspect someone. None of her friends knew, in fact, many were shocked she had even been expecting. "My friends were very surprised I was even expecting...I am positive the clan...well Riverclan and Shadowclan for know, both think I didn't even know until I had to move to the nursery." She whispered, barely audible. The molly laid her head on her paws, eyes trailing on Sorreltuft's face. |

She watched Nightfallkit with her fathers tail, wondering how he had so much energy in his little body. It was weird to her. Though, her father seemed to be as energetic. But he was big, and strong, and a warrior the word stuck in her throat, as if she was unable to muster it. She didn't know what her father was like before she was born, obviously, but maybe he was as troublemaking? She herself was a sweet little kit, quiet and obedient. She barely spoke to anyone outside of her family, truthfully, due to the fear they wouldn't like her. "Good! I am, Nightfallkit's making trouble. So at least we know he's not sick." She mewed, giving a little smile. She giggled, despite clamming up around anyone, she was quite open with her siblings and parents. Her fathers family, however, kind of scared her. Some of it, anyways. "Honeythistle, why'd we have to come here instead of staying in ShadowClan?" |
Re: RiverClan Nursery
[ @Doctor Andreas Marino ] Harekit wriggled free of his mother's grasp, being careful not to make any noise, and went to where he felt warmth. He inched closer and closer to it, not realizing it was the den entrance. He placed his paw outside, felling heavy thumps in the ground. His eyelids shut, frightened, he let out a small squeak. He willed himself to be brave, about to step out. |
Re: RiverClan Nursery
@Mystical {Sorry about the wait. Writers Block and I had to watch a show with my parents.} ~~~ Streamkit hid in the soft folds of her nest, chuckling slightly. I'll get him this time. The she-kit narrowed her eyes in concentration, waiting for her target to pass by. Hopefully the small molly wouldn't be seen. That would ruin the surprise. For a moment, Streamkit hesitated. Should I really be scaring my friend? But she shook it off. That's what friends do. So she settled in to wait. |
Re: RiverClan Nursery
A handsome, copper and black kit bounded into the nursery, his eyes sparkling with excitement. He was always ready to play. Copperkit's expression changed when he saw kits just sitting around doing - well - nothing! That was the trouble, they weren't moving or getting excited or anything! They were just... sitting there. A frown came onto the tom's maw as he approached one of them - one who was sitting away from the rest. At least some of the kits were sitting together, it was good that they had friends, but this one? He was alone. And didn't look too happy with the world around him right now. What was the matter with this kit? "Hey bud, everything alright in your world?" The tom asked, a smile coming onto his maw as he spoke. It was as though nothing could ever bring Copperkit down. And perhaps, it couldn't. @Charmer |

Rojokit sat in the nursery, tail curled around his paws. I wonder if someone died today. The tom, for once had the ability to sit alone and think about everything bad that could happen. His brother, Amarillokit, was his best friend, yet rival. You see, his brother was so upbeat and positive it was creepy. Rojokit said that you needed to have a negative outlook every now and then. But that was so he didn't insult cats. He was negative all the time. I wonder if they were stupid... or worse yet, positive?! The red tom had a fear of positivism. Joy. Happiness. Optimism-YUK! It disgusted the tom so much he might as well destroy everything positive. However, that would mean destroying his brother. He loved his brother, even if he was stupidly positive. Oh, of course the tom had a reason to be negative. If you were positive you ran into things without thinking. You were stupid. It was agitating. Rojokit hated it. Fluffing up his dark red fur he was named for, the tom padded along through the nursery. |

Though Sorreltuft felt rather jealous that another tomcat would pose as his own kits' father, he knew it would be for the best. He watched Silverear rest her head on her paws, gazing at him softly. He couldn't help but think of how his life would've been if he had chosen Silverear as his mate rather than Everwhisper. He knew he most definitely wouldn't of chosen to hide his identity if he had remained at Silverear's side, and he most likely would've been much happier with her. But he knew it would never happen - he didn't feel that way for her; he loved someone else, someone who he hadn't involved in this drama. Besides, his gentleman nature refused to let him leave Everwhisper. He continued to gaze into Silverear's eyes, regret flooding him. Sorreltuft nodded slowly, his eyes narrowed slightly with sorrow. He found himself looking away from her, cautiously glancing over at the nursery opening to assure himself that Everwhisper was not walking through. Plus, he was unable to continue looking at the feline. He always convinced himself it was his fault his flings were now forced to care for his kits while he watched from a distance - which it technically was, but he was unwilling to tell himself it took two to start a family. But if he hadn't been so... so mouse-brained, perhaps he'd never of drawn Silverear into this situation. Sorreltuft carried a lot of guilt with him, as well as responsibility. Looking back at Silverear, Sorreltuft decided to voice his thoughts. ``Sometimes, I wonder what our lives would've been like if I'd chosen you rather than Everwhisper,`` Sorreltuft murmured softly, allowing silence to engulf him as he continued to daydream. ``I wonder what our lives would've been like if I hadn't been such a mouse-brain, dragging you, Summittail, and Everwhisper into this mess.`` He glanced at his paws, growling lightly at himself. Emotions began to overpower him; sadness, anger, confusion, self-pity, and so much more. ``I have to go,`` Sorreltuft meowed quickly, allowing himself to press his nose to Silverear's forehead in farewell before rushing from the den. He was leaving his kits and Silverear behind, the possibility that he may never properly interact with them again running through his mind. |

"Oh, well glad you're doing fine!" Copperkit grinned at the other tom, but then noticed the odd stammer in his voice. "Hey, bud, you want to play?" The tom smiled at Perchkit, an expression on his features that made it look as though he were wanting to play with the other cat. His expression changed a little, and he cocked his head to the side. "What's your name? I'm Copperkit!" He mewed all in one breath, a grin on his maw. The tom was always smiling about something, or bouncing around... he was just that type of a cat. All bouncy and happy and excited. He was glad to play with this other cat, as long as the other cat was willing to play with him. After all, sometimes Copperkit was a little too much for the other cats. |

(I actually didn't notice the stammer until you commented on it, but I think now I'm gonna roll with it. I'll have it cured as he gets older and more confident.) |
