[Sorry this is late!! I've been really busy irl!]

As the brown warrior let Orangeflower lead him to this iconic Thunderclan landmark, he couldn't keep a little bit of his anxiety from spilling onto his face. Tree climbing was what made a Thunderclanner a Thunderclanner. He hadn't attempted it since he was attacked, and balance was a crucial part. What if he couldn't do it anymore? He dug his claws into the ground, as green eyes stared up at the tree in front of him. Would he be able to face himself again? Would he be able to call himself a warrior? He took a deep breath. He needed to focus.

Dogchase turned towards Orangeflower. "How are we going to do this? One cat climbs while the other spots?" His even meow juxtaposed his twitching ears. He wasn't used to being visibly nervous. It made him feel weak, like he was cracking. C'mon Dogchase. Keep it together. It's just a friendly climb with a clanmate. You can do this. Why had he said yes to this training session? He was completely out of his element here1

"Look, Beetlepaw! Isn't this just the best spot to sunbathe?" Fleckpaw announces, dragging over the other she-cat with great enthusiasm. "When Willowflurry showed me here during my territory tour, I just knew I wanted to come back later." Fleckpaw glances at Beetlepaw, hoping she would also be excited.

"Want to race to the giant willow?"

Beetlepaw batted Fleckpaw’s ear with her tail playfully. “What, are you excited to loose?” She mewed jokingly. The sun gleamed on her sleek pelt.

"Lose? Never." Fleckpaw meows back playfully. Not that she really believed in her own statement- Fleckpaw's build was on the big and strong side, not the slim and fast side, and her fur was long. Still, in front of Beetlepaw, she could play around like this and make a bluff. "I may not be the fastest cat ever, but I have a good feeling today."

Beetlepaw may not be the strongest, but she was slim, and fast. She stretched, warming up her muscles. “We will see about that.” She smirked, a glint in her eyes.

Fleckpaw stretches all four limbs and gets into a ready stance. "Three... two... go!" She skips the 'one' purposely and immediately starts running as fast as she can. There was no way she'll lose even with a headstart, right?

And she's off to a great start, cheekily and easily flying over the hills and jumping over rocks while losing minimal time. She's gonna win this!

Beetlepaw was caught off guard by Fleckpaw skipping one, but after she took off, she ran as fast as she could. She skims over rocks, as she wanted to stay as low to the ground before she jumped. She pushed against the ground and leaped, soaring through the air. She landed close behind Fleckpaw’s tail, and that encouraged her more than ever to keep going.

There should be a sizeable distance between them now, Fleckpaw thinks. She uses one or two precious seconds to glance behind herself, and her eyes widen when she sees that Beetlepaw is closer than she thought, right by her tail. At this rate, she might catch up to Fleckpaw after a while, headstart or no headstart.

But now they were closer to the trees. If Fleckpaw hurried, she might still be able to outrun the other she-cat before they arrived. Fleckpaw feels a new dash of energy within her, and she twists and swerves past the brambles and small bushes with as small of a margin as possible, to her eventual destination. She was so close, just a little more!

Beetlepaw let’s put a shocked yowl as the other apprentice speeds away. With one big push, Beetlepaw dashed after her, digging up the ground below her. Maybe if I’m fast enough I can climb onto a tree and land on her! she thought. Rapidly, she climbed up the nearest tree and stepped onto the steadiest branch. She lunged off, Fleckpaw never leaving her sight.
